We stayed for five nights at Hotel Blu, in September, 2023. The staff were very helpful and professional. The room was clean and spacious with coffee and tea making facilities. The hotel is in a central location close to anywhere you would wish to go. Everything seems to be within easy walking distance. We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Blu and would certainly highly recommend it.

I travel a lot and don't always feel compelled to write reviews as the hotels tend to blend into one another. However, this place is my favourite Vancouver hotel to stay in. The rooms are always spotless, they now have a partnership with Saje for in-room diffusers and you pick your scent, the staff is helpful and always do their best to find what you need. The rooms are stylish and I find the hotel to be quiet and low key, avoiding the large conference gaggles that might keep you awake at night. Best part is the location, between Yaletown and Gastown with great shopping and eating options. I recommend a facial at Skoah Yaletown, Happy Hour at the Flying Pig, breakfast at Chambar (quieter than Cafe Medina) and dinner at L'Abbatoire or Nuba.

I decided to splurge and booked the loft apartment. It was the absolute best decision I made, I absolutely loved it. The room itself has high ceilings which make it super glamorous and the furniture was neat and clean as well as well maintained. There were some amenities, there probably could’ve have been more with the price paid but it was ok. They have a really cool automated Siri-like service which you can ask questions, I thought that was nice and modern. They didn’t have a stocked fridge which kept me from binging but I would have liked it regardless. The only fault I can give the hotel is the lack of room service, that really was an issue for me as I was highly reluctant to leave the room and didn’t want to order food to the room which I ended up having to do. That would probably be my only improvement.
Apart from that the staff is hugely welcoming and they do an sms system which I really enjoyed. The spa and sauna were great and I really liked the atmosphere in the hotel, it was great.

Perfect location for a restful stay. Downtown Vancouver can be noisy at night but this hotel is the perfect location for a peaceful sleep. Loft 207 super comfy and clean. Staff at the hotel are friendly and make you feel welcome. No room service or restaurant but with other 100 cafes and restaurants within a 2-10 min walk it’s not an issue at all. Would highly recommend this hotel if you like clean, comfortable accommodations in a good location- oh an parking is only 15$ not 50 like many other downtown hotels.

We decided to go go Vancouver for a week due to the covid issue of flying out of the country, I'm sooooo glad we did! The Blu Hotel was absolutely unbelievable, from the rooms to the customer service. We have travelled alot and stayed in many 5 star hotels, the Blu definitely fits into the 5 star 🌟 catagory. The location was 2mins walk from the Rogers centre, 5mins walk from a new casino and right in the middle of excellent shopping and restaurants. The restaurant in the hotel is only open for breakfast but next door to the hotel was Waves coffee shop, which we patronised every morning. At night we walked next door to fannies oyster bar, amazing fresh seafood. The cleaning staff was friendly and efficient, everyday cleaning our room and willing to get you anything you need. We were given a free oil air freshener for our use in our room, which we loved. We were able to do a load of laundry at the end of the week, so we didn't have to bring home dirty clothes, I loved that. The hotel itself was very clean and nicely decorated for Christmas. We will definitely stay here again.

This is a fine hotel, but they really should NOT advertise any of their rooms as "suites." I paid extra to book a "suite" thinking that it would be, you know, a suite—i.e. connected rooms. It turns out that their "suite" rooms are not suites in any sense of the word. They are just normal, rectangular rooms, with no divider or partition or door of any sort to divide one area from the other.

For a family that was counting on some sort of division of space (sleeping baby), this became a major problem. But, I was told over and over again by staff that as a "boutique" and "designer" hotel, their use of the word "suite" differed from other hotels'. I agree that their use of the word "suite" differs from others! It is a flat-out lie.

4/5 for the accommodations. 0/5 for the dishonesty in advertising.

we stayed here as a "night away" from the kid. Our room was well-appointed and very clean. Unfortunately, despite being at least 4 rooms away from the ice machine, it woke us up every time someone needed to use it. The ice machine should be put in a contained room if the rooms are so poorly insolated. I feel bad for the person who stayed right across from it. Apparently the occupants of the second floor needed ice every 30 minutes this past weekend. When we mentioned it to the front desk staff, they said they would put a "note on our file" to not put us near it again. Thanks so much. Just be sure to mention that you want to be no where near said ice machine and you should have a great time here.
The cold glasses in the fridge was a nice touch, too.

As a frequent business traveler I don’t stay in this part of Vancouver often so I enjoyed trying a unique place instead of a standard chain.

From my check in, I was delighted. Sure the staff were great, common. Then the room design truly impressed me ( unique shower see my pictures), there were so many contemporary beautiful design touches but the icing on the cake was my favourite coffee machine, Nespresso. And a legit stainless steel kettle.

My room had a little terrace too. Bonus for working outside on a nice day and having a Nespresso coffee there each morning was a real peaceful treat.

The pool is a little small but there is a sauna and a very nice outdoor lounge.

The room had SO many environmental considerations I lost track of them all. Not just recycling but compost! No plastic bottles, refillable ones in the washroom. Add to that a glass bottle for filling up with filtered water which is on every floor at the ice machine, it’s all pretty impressive.

Will stay here again for sure.

Ps. Right outside the front door is a restaurant called Black Rice Izakaya, a solid quality place if you like Japanese food.

Stayed for 3 nights at this excellent hotel situated at the end of the main shopping road and just a $7 taxi from the Amtrak terminus/station. We were offered free coffee in the lounge as part of a friendly, efficient check in, as we were early and the room not yet ready. The rooms were large, comfortable and very clean. The bed turn down and chocolate were a nice surprise from the also friendly room staff. The hotel location allows easy walking to the shops, acqua bus to Granville Island and the Gastown area amongst others. Would now be my hotel of choice in Vancouver.

We visited Hotel Blu for one night. Check in was a breeze. We had issues with the room's AC (Room staying around 75F/23C) that they weren't able to resolve during our stay. The hotel team did their best to resolve it but it ended in a very hot sleepless night.

Tom (who is absolutely fantastic) from the front desk came up and tried to sleuth what was going on. He tried his best but at the end it didn't get fixed.

We had dinner at Jinya (great ramen) and breakfast at Le Petit Belge (very good but arrive early) .

At check out they offered a complementary breakfast but we had to turn it down as we had already eaten.

Altogether the room being hot ruined our short stay, but not because they didn't try. If we were staying more than one night maybe they would have been able to fix it or another room would open up.

Other notes about the hotel:
1) Location is great
2) Rooms are clean
3) Staff is great
4) Good water pressure/water temp
5) Internet speed was testing around ~40mbps and was protected by a password
6) Parking was secure but the EV charging was slow and outside & kind of in a shady spot. I'd recommend charging at a different charger if possible.

I'd probably recommend them but not on a day when they have high occupancy in case they give you the last picks of the night like we got.
