Hostel makes no sense. Owner is a confused angry fool & racist who keeps a list of ethnic stereotypes posted on the wall ("African guests are thieves"; "Arabs guests are dirty" etc.) and thinks it's cute. Bathroom is totally unkept and disgusting. Species of cockroaches...More
Our flight didn't get in until 10pm and the people who run this place wouldn't let us check in. At the three other hostels we stayed at they all left us a key/instructions. Absolutely horrible. Will definitely be telling people to never stay here.
The boss is kind and humorous. He cleans the hostel 3 times weekly. Top one in downtown with perfect location. And the facilities are above average including spaghetti and plug-in internet access for free.
this place has everything a backpacker needs, great price, nice people, good atmosphere, dont expect luxury, but you are guaranteed a fun stay!
although the building is a little run down, the staff are helpful and the location is perfect

A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of
Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
