If you are going there to just crash and you are staying up late drinking it's fine. We got there jet lagged and were due to get up at 6 for whale watching. We were 1st floor above the bar (more like a club) so were kept up until 3 with loud music and the base. Now as I say... More

The good: + Centrally located, just a few blocks from the waterfront and major attractions. It is also the cheapest out of all the hostels in downtown Vancouver. + Laundry facilities and kitchen are okay. + They also granted my request to cancel my last night and refunded me without hassles. + The hotel staff was mostly competent. + Rate... Very friendly guy on reception and location is really close to the downtown area. Everything at your fingertips. Not the flashiest hostel we have stayed in (actually probably the least) but considering its location, it's worth a 3 rating. $67cad for a private room. Would I stay here again? Yes, it's the cheapest place by far in this area!!

I just spent 3 nights at this location and have come home with bites on my arms, neck and hands.Bed Bugs for sure. The hostel was okay, and the price was right, but nothing is worth the hassle that I will now have to go through to make sure that these bugs are not in my home!

This hostel is not right on Vancouver "main" street but is a great location. Is around 10min walking to Granville, Robson, Georgia or Waterfront and even closer to Gas town. Breakfast included, 2 bunk beds room. The best price at my time there.

This must have been one of the worst hostel experiences I had. They first gave us a wrong key which made us get in to the room of some random stranger. We slept on the 3d floor but were still able to hear the DJ in the bar at the groundfloor very clearly all night long. There were no plugs... More

Me and my boyfriend stayed in the Cambie hostel for one night. We had asked for a room in the sister hostel and a friendly receptionist sent us to Cambie Seymour. We chatted a bit with the friendly girl at the front desk. When we came to our room I was pretty disappointed, we paid 68 Dollar and the room... More

First I say if you want 4 star service book a 4 star hotel. I stay in Hostels 'cause they're cheap; Some more so than others and not in a good way. This one is an independent no membership required. Stay can be as long as a month, price is cheap in comparison to the area however several points to... More

The room was smelling pee and it was very dirty and hot. There is a bar just under the Hostel and the room are veeeery noisy. It was like being in a disco smeeling pee all the night. Horrible. The music was very loud. The washrooms were very dirty, too, but they didn't smeel pee like the rooms (weird). The... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighborhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
