Vintage corkscrews everywhere, private wine museum, dozens of stained glass windows, antiques and curios: you might not want to tear yourself away to explore the beaches, parks, shops and restaurants only steps away. We love this historic and eclectic part of Vancouver and wouldn’t live anywhere else.

Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.

Corkscrew Inn is a gorgeous property, beautifully maintained inside and out. Immaculately clean, really comfortable rooms and a personal touch that I don't experience when I stay in other accommodation like an Air B&B. The location is idea for walks along the beach and shopping

We have been visiting ‘since the beginning’ .....and this was a FIRST for the Christmas season. A delight with quiet time, on the back terrace, and the living room to enjoy for Christmas Day breakfast. Enjoyed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day in cozy spaces. Lucky

Firstly the actual building was lovely and in a quiet street close to some lovely restaurants and convenient for buses. Unfortunately Karen swung from being very helpful and very rude. We emailed her as per her instructions on the day of arrival to give an arrival time and we

Thank you for your feedback. There are few issues in hospitality that can’t be resolved with good communication, and clearly there was a breakdown in this instance, beginning with our outgoing email messages disappearing. We now know this has happened with others and we will follow up with phone calls until we are sure the problem is fixed. Your arrival coincided with a hectic day of chores, errands and a traffic jam, and Karen had left you a welcome letter because she wasn’t certain she’d be home to greet you. When she did meet you, she didn’t expand on the points in the letter about calling or texting her at any time with questions or concerns during a stay, or about changes to breakfast arrangements (notes are tricky as they might not be seen in time). Her welcome letter also explained that quiet is appreciated later in the evening in consideration of residents and guests. Typically this too would be mentioned during check-in. She has asked us to extend her apologies that this oversight led to an experience below the standard she strives to ensure.

Not far from the centre of the city on the number 2 or 4 bus, or a $15 taxi. You can walk along the coast to Granville Island in 20-30 mins. Great rooms and a super homemade breakfast by Karen. Karen is very helpful and a mine of information both local and further afield.

We stayed at Corkscrew Inn 3 nights at the end of May 2018 visiting family close by. Loved the breakfasts - we're not picky eaters. It is an older home with plenty of stairs but the facilities are first rate and it's a quiet area. The other lodgers were considerate about noise
