I have stayed at the Samesun in Vancouver twice, and have had a great experience both times. The rooms are clean, well positioned and spacious. It is locate right near the shopping centre and is surrounded by many great dinning places. The Hostel it self has free breakfast every morning, which was always a difficult one to pass up, with...

Perfect location, bedrooms small not enough ventilation, but if you plan is just sleep are perfect, the ambience very good, friendly personal they can help you with activities options. Cheap price, good relation price quality. In general clean hostel and good breakfast!

Great central location, clean, safe, good atmosphere and great staff. Having the bar downstairs helps meeting people. Granville St can look a bit sketchy, it's reassuring to have the front desk opened 24/7 for people traveling on their own.

Terrible experience with a staff member named Giles. Upon arrival, he greeted me incredibly coldly with no welcome and did not go through any of the hostel rules, handing me a sheet of paper to read myself. When I came down later that night to ask what attractions would be open during the holiday shutdown, he pointed out that 'they...

Hello. I know that you talked to our manager in Vancouver twice about this staff member and he passed along that you left feeling that the situation had been resolved. We also talked to the staff member in question about your concerns and have followed up internally. Race certainly doesn't play a factor in anything that we do as we...

I stayed at Samesun Vancouver in December on a road trip from California to Canada. The receptionists were friendly and helpful, with everything from secured parking recommendations (hugely important to me, as I had a car full of belongings), to directions in the city for places I was interested in. The location is great, tucked into downtown Vancouver; easy to...

I stayed here with a group of 12 and the staff was amazing. Prior to our stay I must have emailed them about a million different questions and they replied quickly and always had an answer or solution to my question. When we arrived they practically knew who we were because of the large group and from me being in...

Only stayed here for 2 nights but while I was there it had great vibes. Friendly staff and guests. The bed were a little bit too short for me but I am quite tall. The beaver bar is a good place to grab some drinks and make new friends. Great stay over all.

everything was great no complaints. The people were wonderful, I learned a lot from the people staying. I have to say the best part was the bar because of the activities they had. I got to join bingo and trivia night, it got me to meet new people from all over the world.

I stayed here for 6 weeks while transitioning a move to Vancouver. It's a great hostel! Staff are so friendly and make an effort to get to know you and help with anything you need. Bar is great and they have great activities nightly. Free breakfast in the morning is basic but awesome if you're on a budget and the...

Staying in Granville Street

Neighborhood Profile
Granville Street
Granville Street spans many, multiple city blocks and has become so fastidiously known for its nightclubs and watering holes that it's fondly nicknamed the city's 'Entertainment District.' Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular and lively, with young revelers taking to the streets in droves and keeping the party going until late. Granville Street, being mostly open to pedestrian-only traffic, has a healthy social life along its main thoroughfares, even outside of its cafes and pubs, spilling onto the sidewalks. The locals are chatty, the shops at its expansive Pacific Centre Mall are trendy, and the whole area seems to be on a sugar rush: in a good way. Exuberance and camaraderie classify this neighbourhood.
