We stayed here for a few days before and after we had travelled around the Rockies. The location is great for those who like to explore cities on foot. We found the hosts very informative with great suggestions for nearby restaurants. Their knowlegde of bus routes and travels options was great. We enjoyed the old world charm and style of... More

Old Victorian lady that is well situated for food, waterfront parks, peace and quiet. A couple block one way to Davie St. or a couple more in the other direction for Robeson St. and you have good, inexpensive eats. A couple more blocks and you are down to the water to stroll or pick up a water taxi to Granville... More

We stayed here for 3 nights before a cruise. Robin and Maryann are experienced hosts who know how to take care of their guests. Beautiful neighborhood. Quiet room. Easy walking to the beach, shops, Stanley Park and bus routes. Friendly dog and cat in the house. Robin is a craftsman and has kept this older house in really good condition.

A sweet old house close to downtown Vancouver with charming oldfashioned interior. Almost everything is within walking distance. Mary Anne and Robin are wonderful hosts who spoil you with a delicious breakfast and entertain you with interesting conversations in the evening while sitting on the patio. We had a great time there and a wonderful start to our road trip... More

This charming B+B I is pretty much in the middle of downtown. The residential areas are away from the shops and most traffic but only a couple of block from the main roads. My bedroom was spacious. The bed was firm, the shower hot and strong. The cat and dog are cute (and stay out of your way).. The hosts... More

This was the perfect location to stay in Vancouver. It is on a quiet street, but centrally located. Walking to any type of restaurant I wanted was easy. Walking to Stanley Park was also close. It was easy to walk to downtown also. Breakfasts were really good with a lot of enjoyable discussions. If I ever make it back to... More

Lovely Victorian House kept alive by a charming couple who will also provide great conversations over breakfast. Conveniently located: Davie Street or Robson Street 5 min walk. Enjoyed my stay very much.

We stayed here on our last night in Vancouver, and it has a wonderful, individual feel to it. No austere lines and minimalism here: this is all wonderfully dark polished wood, rugs and densely patterned wallpaper, along with walls lined with books, books books, giving it a seriously Victorian feel. We were staying in the Whistler room, with a massive... More

The B & B is decorated and styled in 1900's fashion. It takes you to another time that is quite captivating, fun and feeling at home. The room we took was the Whistler room, plenty of space, queen size bed, spacious cabinets, enough mirrors, a washstand, shower with toilet. There might be a problem with the bathroom size for big... Having arrived after a 10 hour flight it was great to receive such a warm welcome. Our hosts were generous with information about their favourite parts of the beautiful city of Vancouver. Our room was a good size with a private bathroom and although we arrived when it was very hot outside 30-35C the room was kept fairly cool by... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
