OPUS Vancouver is often celebrated for its prime Yaletown location, with guests enjoying the easy access to local dining and attractions. The hotel's amenities receive accolades, particularly the comfortable beds and the heated floors, as well as the pet-friendly touches. Although the service is usually described as warm and attentive, some guests have encountered issues with room service and housekeeping.
While the atmosphere is stylish and the rooms are clean and well-appointed, noise can be a concern for some guests. Opinions on value are divided, with certain services considered costly.

Detailed Reviews
We were getting married at Brix & Mortar over February long weekend and booked the Signature Suite for five days over our wedding weekend. The suite is absolutely gorgeous and huge. I especially appreciated the huge bathroom with the soaker tub. Kaitlyn the event coordinator was great at communicating with me ahead of time to set everything up, including getting a block rate for the guests of the wedding. The customer service at the Opus is out of this world - seriously, every request we made (high stools for make up, extra shampoo, etc.) there'd be a knock at the door in under 5 minutes with the item. Their bathroom products are also high quality - usually I'm so picky I just stick with my own products while staying in hotels but I loved the products they keep at the Opus. We also had some great meals at La Pentola downstairs. An added bonus is that they are pet friendly. The location also couldn't be more convenient - it's right across the street from the Yaletown Roundhouse Station which is less than half an hour away from YVR and it's within walking distance of a ton of restaurants and shops in Yaletown. There's also David Lam Park and False Creek within a 5 minute walk for those bringing their dogs. I can't wait to return here!

Dear 14187RNkellyk, Thank you very much for choosing to celebrate your special day with us! Your comments highlighting how impressed you were with the service from the entire team, especially Kaitlyn, were fantastic to see. We are fortunate to be located right around the corner from one of our favorite restaurants, Brix & Mortar, and hope that your celebration was truly a memorable one. Congratulations on your wedding from all of us at OPUS! Sincerely, Nicholas Gandossi

Our stay on the whole was pleasant--opus staff were helpful. Their motto seems to be "let us know if there is anything we can do", and they consistently deliver. The room was rather noisy over the weekend due to an event happening in the laneway, but to be fair the music was pleasant anyways. I wouldn't order room service, especially breakfast, the same items are available downstairs nearly 10$ cheaper, our food came cold, and the portion was smaller than we'd expected. It also has a mandatory 18% gratuity on room service. Fortunately, we had veen given a complimebtary breakfast due to a room switch around. On the whole, it's a very welcoming, helpful hotel. We are not sure, however, if we will return. It depends a lot on what you value!

Two of us stayed 10 nights, which is a long time to stay in a city hotel.
We found the location ideal – skytrain station across the street made for easy airport transfers and quick access to downtown. We also walked into town – about 30 minutes. Yaletown is packed with very nice restaurants, we ate somewhere different every night and didn't come close to visiting them all.
It is also a short walk to False creek and the ferries to Granville island. Starbucks and Urban Fare grocery store (where you can buy your orange compass card) are also nearby.
Front desk staff were excellent, quickly resolving issue with room, always friendly and helpful.
Our first room had the bathroom in front of the window, large well equipped bathroom with fabulous walk in shower, but looking straight at the apartments opposite. We were not comfortable with this arrangement and didn't want to be forever opening and closing blinds so arranged a change to a more conventional room with a smaller bathroom and shower in the bathtub. We preferred this as more light in the living area.
Both rooms were a good size for a lengthy stay and very well equipped with nespresso machine, ipad, dyson hair dryer, fridge, bathrobes, slippers, excellent wifi, armchair, desk and chair.
We enjoyed happy hour in the small but always lively bar and had a great meal in the restaurant.
Everything you have heard about rain in Vancouver is true – rained 8 of our 10 days, but don't mention it or you'll be subjected to a lengthy description of the sunny day they had three weeks ago.
Overall an excellent choice of hotel, we would stay again if we were to return.

Dear bruce14, Thank you for your detailed review! I am delighted to hear you enjoyed your extended stay with us and were able to take advantage our central location and close proximity to all Yaletown has to offer. Our more avant-garde bathrooms are definitely not for everyone, and was glad to hear the team was able to accommodate you in a different room category during your time with us. With regard to the rain...your account of a true Vancouverite's response to our weather made me laugh! So true. Hopefully next time you visit Vancouver we have more sunshine for you. Take care and have a great weekend. Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Sarah Vallely General Manager

We arrived at the Opus a day late and without 2 of our suitcases thanks to WestJet and the staff were super welcoming and helpful. They got us in a room as soon as we arrived and gave us the essential toiletries to help us while we didn’t have anything. For what was a very stressful start to our trip, the staff at the Opus made it much better.
Every member of staff was helpful, attentive, and had lots of tips about getting around the local area and places to eat.
The hotel itself is very nice, the bed in the room was very comfortable, shower was powerful and hot, the laundry service was perfect, and the pizza from room service is amazing.
The location is very convenient with Yaletown station across the road making commuting from the airport very easy. There are regular busses and you are a short walk from the harbour and water taxis for Granville island.
Overall my wife and I would highly recommend the Opus!

Everything about our weekend getaway to Opus in Yaletown was wonderful! This is an upscale boutique hotel in an incredible location with an amazing staff. Day one,we were greeted by the most friendly staff, welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine and an upgraded room. The rooms are stylish and have a wonderful view. Our room was larger than the studio so we also had the option of a bathtub which was a nice option for a rainy weekend. The carpet in 312 is showing a little wear and tear but it did not detract from our stay. Day two we again were greeted and asked about our concert, had an amazing breakfast, received a slice of birthday cake in the room and were taken by the hotel car to Kitsilano where we had dinner reservations. By day three, the staff seemed like friends - again asking about our evening and offering to help in any way. We have returned to Opus each January for several years and always look forward to coming back.

Very pleased with our stay in this small hotel in Yaletown. Convenient for sky train and other transport. Plenty of restaurants around and two great supermarkets.
Received a complimentary room upgrade which was welcome. We had a difficult journey to Vancouver after having been stranded in Winnipeg for two days off the trans Canadian train due to protests in the lines. The hotel were aware of this and to our surprise we received a bottle of wine in our room to ‘relax’ .
It was my husband’s birthday during our stay and the hotel marked this with a lovely slice of cake .
The hotel is not very big and they work hard to make you feel at home and the personal touch is in abundance .
The room was lovely and light and clean. Bed comfy with high quality bed linen and large shower with soft towels.
Nespresso coffee maker in room and small fridge to keep fresh milk, water etc in.
Courtesy car available on first come basis however we didn’t use during our stay.
All interactions with reception warm and friendly and you feel like a valued guest .
Would highly recommend

We stayed for one night to escape the busy Whistler weekend and we so glad we chose to spend our time at the Opus.
We arrived early but the reception team arranged for our room to be ready as quick as possible. They provided us with a room upgrade for our Expedia Gold status which was very generous and offered us some helpful suggestions as to where to go while our room was being prepared. We took up one of the hotels suggestions and had a fantastic meal at the Sandbar restaurant.
Returning to the hotel, our room was more than excellent. It was so good! Modern, clean, and really large for a city hotel.
The locatiuon is perfect - with a metro station just a few steps away and many restaurants and bars in the immediate area. If and when we return to Vancouver we will certainly stay at the Opus again.

Love the vibe of the hotel - hip and fresh with a lively nightlife scene and central to everything you need. Rooms were unique and well-appointed. Perfect for business travel and working from your hotel if you need. The entire staff is attentive to your every need. Daily breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant was included, and I recommend the pancakes. Yum! Btw: Am a self-professed Starbucks junkie. So I was happy to find one right across the street when working late. I felt right at home. Overall, I will book this hotel again for my next business trip.

Opus was a really cool hotel. It was unlike the massive, populated hotels - it was more quiet and in a great location. However, their room-service could have stayed open later during the week, you'll have to find late night food after 10 pm Sunday-Thursday.

Do any of the rooms face False Creek?
Good morning ismail m,
As an update, the hotel is currently closed and hopes to reopen later this year. If you are asking about job openings, we do not have any vacancies, and are not accepting resumes at this time.
Thank you for the message, be well and stay safe.

I don’t think the hotel restaurant can fulfill your needs but there is a great Indian restaurant at one minute walking distance. You may want to ask the hotel, they are really helpful!
I can’t answer that but I will tell you that they are very accommodating. Give them a call or email them!

Good afternoon Cruiser02554906759,
As Elizabeth mentioned, we do have visitor parking for people visiting guests at the hotel. She was correct to state it is $18 plus taxes for the day. Simply pull up to the hotel and the bellman will look after you.
We hope everyone enjoys their OPUS experience!
