Excellent location. Breakfast pretty good: omelets and pancakes made to order. The house smells, probably because of the old carpets throughout the house. After opening the window, it is tolerable. The window in the Diane Room could not stay open and had to be propped open with a cup. Bathroom on 2nd floor is clean but needs more countertop or... More

Having to leave early to catch a flight, it would have been nice to supplement the regular breakfast with something to carry away or at least self-serve a croissant with jam. The converted large home was an elegant and comfortable ambiance that felt like a home away from home -- perhaps something one would experience visiting a distant member of... More

We travelled in mid July and stayed in the James room. Even at a discount rate, we will not be back. The room was not clean. It was hot and had a terrible smell, which got worse when we opened up the sofa-bed. The fan was broken, the counter hadn't been wiped and the blinds, doorknobs etc. looked like they... More

The Guest House was well located near City Hall, within 5/10 minutes walking distance of the nearest Sky Train station. It was also just a half an hour's walk from Granville Island and Queen Elizabeth Park. There was an efficient system of letting yourself in after finding instructions in the mail box although this was rather impersonal and we would... More

We stayed while picking up friends coming off a cruise. The rooms were clean and ample sized. Breakfast was very satisfactory, included fruit, cereal, and made to order eggs/omelets. The rail stop was only 21/2 blocks away. There were 4 parking spaces, first come first served. We had a shared bathroom for 2 rooms which was clean and not an... More

I've had a wonderful stay at Windsor Guesthouse. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and nice. Breakfast was very good, served on the terasse when the weather allowed. When I had questions I was always met with friendly answers. I thought I had forgotten my notebook in the room and wrote an email and the staff replied... More

upstairs, 3rd-floor room was small, but comfortable, needs a mirror... shared bathrooms are always situation that can cause some discomfort - but it was clean and most functional... breakfasts are always delicious and delightful times to meet other guests from around the world... parking can be somewhat of an issue, but usually accommodation is made to take care of that... Quaint nicely run place in need of some minor upgrading. Considering where it is, it was quiet and comfortable. Although it has nothing to do with my reason for picking the place, a hospital procedure, it was easy to get around once you negotiated the narrow streets and limited parking. They gave me a discount because of the hospital visit... More

We had a wonderful experience at this b and b. The room was very nice and quiet; very nice sheets/comforter, we had a private bathroom (not all rooms do). The breakfast included individually made omelets/pancakes/french toast - with a very friendly person greeting you in the kitchen with excellent coffee/tea. We will certainly go there again when we go back... More

We stayed here for one night only. The room was clean and pleasant, with a private bathroom, not shared. Breakfast in the morning good - eggs cooked to order. Location is handy to so many things - this is a great walking neighbourhood. We will definitely stay again.

Staying in Shaughnessy

Neighborhood Profile
Shaughnessy
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
