We stayed for 4 nights in the wheelchair access room, 2 adults and 1 child. The room was well appointed, the room itself and the bathroom was large and spacious enough for my wheelchair, although the placement of the wash basin made it a little bit tricky to get up off the toilet for our wheelchair family member, but we... Very well situated to explore the shopping and entertainment hub of Vancouver downtown. Very helpful staff and Breakfast is great! Spa and health & fitness. Car rental station right there in the huge opulent lobby. The rooms are slightly old but clean and tidy. No mildew in the bathroom! 😃 Yipee!! The AC is old BUT works well ! The... More

Hotel is in a great location, minutes to the Pier. Its surrounded by restaurants and bars. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. The staff count be nicer. The restaurant for breakfast got very busy, so give your self some extra time if you wan to eat. The breakfast i had was very good.

We stayed 4 nights with our teenage boys in a family room (2 queen beds plus nook room with single bed) located at executive floor; it was very quiet. We found the room and the hotel very clean. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Beds were comfortable and pillows good. Yes, this is an older property, but it is... More

Hotel was clean and staff were friendly. The bathroom was fully equipped and the rooms were spacious with a cosy, homely feel. Beds were really comfortable and pillows were amazing! The breakfast option was delightful, and offered a range of cooked foods, fruit, yogurts and something to suit all the family. The location provided close links to transport, and close... More

The staff were unfriendly and not willing to help, they don't even bother greeting you. They promise one thing on the phone when you are reserving but when you arrive they completely change reservation blaming it on the call centre person. The cleaning staff were more friendly than the front desk staff. Ice machine was broken, and not fixed despite... More

Dear Nad A, Thank you for taking the time to share feedback from your recent stay. I believe the issue arose as there were two separate reservations made for sequential nights, one booked through a third party and one through central reservations. As these were for different room types it was brought up during the check in process to stay... More

The hotel is well situated if you wish to be in downtown Vancouver. It's an older property, but is clean and well maintained. The buffet breakfast I had was good, the cheerful service was much appreciated. I did not appreciate how high the room rates are in Vancouver in August. There is little correlation between the quality of the room... More

Dear wbsAlberta, We appreciate your feedback. We will be sure to share your review with our Food & Beverage team as they will certainly appreciate the note about their cheerful service. The market this summer in Vancouver has been very busy and there has been growth in the market rates. Our rates are closely monitored as we always want to... More

Well, this 'Holiday Inn' certainly forgot its 'Holiday' between its couch cushions @ home. For $420, I received a puny, basement apartment style room. It didn't have a safe, a side table, a bathtub (teenie tiny walk in shower) or a closet (except for the added cupboards). This is room 219 by the way so travelers beware.. For those of... More

We had to make a flying visit to Vancouver and managed to book in here. The service was impeccable. The room was very clean and modern. The Bar staff (Tim) was exception late on Thurs night. The breakfast buffet was well worth the price with eggs, bacon, chipolates and potatoes with a full continental far available. Juice and coffee/tea were... More

This has to be by far one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. First of all, it is in the middle of downtown Vancouver surrounded by cannibas clinics, homeless people and and drug addicts. The hotel has ZERO security and these unsightly individuals can be seen running into the hotel and up the stairs at all hours of... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
