Robson Street
Robson Street is a shopper's paradise. Whether a window shopper or a serious trendsetter, a fashionista or a dabbler, the crowd of independent boutiques, quirky one-off shops, and well-known luxury brands on Robson Street have something to cater for every itch in your wallet. As a result, it draws a diverse crowd, and the people-watching along this famous walking thoroughfare is a primary attraction. In between the clothing shops both high-street and budget-friendly are a number of cafes to lay down your load, as well as numerous specialty stores ranging in their wares from music, to art, to city souvenirs. Known as "Vancouver's Runway," if a new trend is on the rise, you'd spot it here first.

Hotel's Favorite
I stayed at this hotel for three nights while on a course in Vancouver. I found this hotel to be very clean, comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful. My room was on the 15th floor, so the view was quite nice. The only downside to this being on the 15th floor is that

The hotel does have a shuttle service so can book for them to drop you off, there is a nice Italian restaurant just round the corner. A pizza place opposite.

They are very helpful at the front desk, but doubt they could book for you. However they would certainly give advice. We went on the hop-on hop-off bus. They do a city and park tour. It is a fantastic way to see Vancouver. Check online for 'specials', we booked two days bus which included entrance to Aquarium and The Tower. Also online you may find a wine tour. Hope you enjoy Vancouver, we did. All the best.

All things equal, I think I would choose a Hilton every time over a Hampton Inn. We chose the Hampton Inn Downtown Vancouver because we wanted to be around all the downtown sights, and our ultimate destination was the cruise port. As nice as this Hampton Inn is, it's still a Hampton Inn. Has the same breakfast every other Hampton Inn has, and limited amenities. If you decide to stay there, we enjoyed our room which faced the BC Place, with its cable-supported retractable roof. Also, be aware that some rooms are very close to the elevators. From your room, you can literally touch the elevator.

Airport is really too far away for a comp shuttle to make economic sense. But they do have a shuttle that will make local trips on demand. They took us to the cruise port.
