Harking back to the days when the West End was Vancouver’s first residential neighbourhood, the 1906-built West End Guest House was once home to the Edwards family – some of their photographs of early Vancouver adorn the walls. Current owners Paul Wylie and David Birch have modernised the interiors and plumbing (all rooms are en suite), while retaining a period charm. The eight individually styled and named guest suites range from lush garden level (Superior King Garden Suite) to cosy top floor (Deluxe king Suite). Complimentary gourmet breakfasts, free parking for each room and free Wi-Fi add to the charm. It is on historic Haro Street, with easy access to the nearby Stanley Park seawall, or Davie and Robson Street shopping areas. The parlour with hearth is ideal for winter contemplation, while the veranda and garden beckon in summer months.

Neighborhood
Robson Street
Robson Street is a shopper's paradise. Whether a window shopper or a serious trendsetter, a fashionista or a dabbler, the crowd of independent boutiques, quirky one-off shops, and well-known luxury brands on Robson Street have something to cater for every itch in your wallet. As a result, it draws a diverse crowd, and the people-watching along this famous walking thoroughfare is a primary attraction. In between the clothing shops both high-street and budget-friendly are a number of cafes to lay down your load, as well as numerous specialty stores ranging in their wares from music, to art, to city souvenirs. Known as "Vancouver's Runway," if a new trend is on the rise, you'd spot it here first.

Amazing location, amazing food, amazing hospitality. Was a lovely place to stay, staff were super inviting and it was great to meet other guests from all around the world. The beds were super comfy and the room was very clean. Barb's baking was a highlight for us! We will be staying there again on our next trip to Vancouver.

The guest house and its rooms are lovely, clean and well appointed. The breakfast was delicious and the hosts could not be nicer. Very welcoming and helpful. The location is perfect...quiet on a residential street that is very green. Easy to walk to Granville Island ferries, Stanley Park, etc.

This is a very nice guest house in a great location near the center of Vancouver and also within a short walk of Stanley Park. The breakfasts each day were fantastic and having a chance to chat with other guests over breakfast was very pleasant. The dedicated parking spaces in this central location are also a very good feature. The mattress on the bed was probably the softest I have ever experienced. Unfortunately for me, I very much prefer a firmer mattress so I didn't find this bed to be very comfortable. Everybody has different preferences but having a mattress so extremely soft is bound to be a negative point for some people. So if you like a very soft mattress, this guest house could be perfect for you. If not, you might want to stay somewhere else.

We greatly enjoyed our 5 day stay at the West End Guest House. Location was great. Although we were minutes from the hustle and bustle of downtown Vancouver, the guest house is located on a quiet side street so it was peaceful and calm. Breakfasts were yummy, company lively and room spacious, clean and comfortable, We couldn't ask for a better home away from home. Thanks to West End Guest House.

The West End Guest House is a beautifully restored Victorian B&B, located in the quiet, convenient West End neighborhood of Vancouver. There are 8 different guest rooms/suites, all with private en suite bathrooms!! The hospitality was beyond expectations, with amazing breakfasts and a well stocked pantry for guests. This was our first trip to Vancouver and the staff helped us plan some of our activities to make the most of our time there. With guest-friendly common spaces and super comfortable beds, this is an awesome place to stay.
