The location was amazing. I like to be able to get to the center of the city when I travel, but I don't like to be forced to be a part of the hustle and bustle. This location allow you to walk right to the heart of Vancouver, while coming home to a calm quiet environment right on the edge...

This was a great base of operations for a weekend getaway. We stayed in room 4, essentially adjacent to the dining room. Very comfortable bed, way off the ground, but fine with us as we are tall - in fact I chose the room because a footboard makes it a little too tight, and this bed was open at the...

We rented room 6 which is the apartment with kitchen. It was nice to have plenty of room since our son and his family dropped by once or twice and the grandson spent the night. We didn't use the kitchen much but it seemed very well outfitted. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was roomy. Only a couple of...

We spent the weekend here and have nothing but great things to say about this inn. The staff was extremely accommodating. Because we had to leave early for the Rock n Roll 10K, they fixed us a special breakfast and Jacob was kind enough to completely remake our bed when I told him I had feather allergies. We loved the...

We stayed in the 2-floor suite. They have a wonderful system for checking in that is very well outlined in the email welcome letter. The room was beautiful and the hotel is in easy walking distance of several restaurants and the beach. IT was very nice reconnecting with a city we haven't been to in 30 years. So we were...

Love the location! within walking distance to Stanley Park and lovely streets to walk around. The breakfast is excellent. It is good to sit with other guests and chit chat about each others travel experiences and share views and ideas. The staff is friendly and professional. We had a big room (#5) which had a sitting area downstairs and bedroom...

We arrived very early and although the room was not ready they happily looked after our bags and set up our access. The rooms were immaculate and included a great folder full of recommended places to visit, restaurants and bars, including maps for each. Recommended highly.

The best bits - the breakfast, at a table that is set as if you're on the set of Downton abbey! The staff at breakfast were friendly and attentive. The location - just a few minutes from Stanley Park and a fifteen minute walk from the ferry to Granville island. The neighbourhood has a nice feel to it and there...

To explain my title: On one level the English Bay Inn offers the best of a great B&B; it also has its foibles. The best: extraordinary breakfasts, both in quality and quantity; a very attractive dining room; Alberto is a delightful host in the morning (more below); its location a couple of blocks from Stanley Park, and from "downtown" West...

This relatively old property is completely covered into a boutique upmarket B&B style hotel with common sitting and dining rooms. Very well furnished, everything in good order and spotlessly clean. Superb location a few minutes walk from Stanley Park and English Bay itself, downtown is not much further than a 15 min walk. Lots of restaurants on Denman St a...

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
