The Fairmont Waterfront is celebrated by guests for its spacious and comfortable rooms that boast impressive views, although a few note that certain aspects feel outdated. Its location is highly regarded for easy access to local attractions and transportation. The hotel's amenities, including the lauded service and quality breakfast, are frequently praised, though some travelers consider it pricey, questioning the value for the cost. We stayed in a harbor view king suite. The suite was spacious and we loved having two bathrooms, especially as a family with two tweens. The view of the harbor and stanley park was beautiful. The staff kept the room spotless and we appreciated having carafes of water at night and the nescafe machine in the room. The location is perfect for being close to the harbor and picking up various shuttle and tour buses. However, the walk to robson st is about 20+ minutes to some of the restaurants, something to keep in mind if you want to go there. The streets definitely get kind of sketchy at night - especially granville. And when walking back in the evening, we had some unpleasant encounters with the area homeless. I would recommend taking transportation in the evenings.

The Fairmont Waterfront will be my go-to hotel for future trips to Vancouver. The welcome far exceeded my expectations. My wife and I arrived early after a four-hour train trip to beautiful Vancouver from Seattle and the room was ready. This was our first trip to the city. I booked a regular room and noted in the comments that it was our 36th anniversary and my birthday week. Jeff was wonderful, a guardian angel of sorts. We were upgraded to a harbor facing room and the view was phenomenal. The rooms are somewhat dated but I value cleanliness, comfort and service more, and kudos to the housekeeping staff. I like that there are crisp white duvets and linens because my pet peeve are those grungy bedspreads that so many hotels use (not this hotel). toiletries are excellent. We went out for a walk on the first day (our anniversary) to return to a chilled bottle of prosecco and chocolate cake. That made my week and Jeff checked in with us to ensure that our stay was going well. Just when I thought I had seen it all, two days later there was a knock on the door and I opened it to find one of the hotel staff members (Tara - a real credit to your hotel) holding a birthday cake. The friendliness of staff members throughout the hotel made us feel special. To me, the little touches do matter. The location is great, right across from the convention center, restaurants, shuttles etc. It's an easy walk into downtown Vancouver. To management: Jeff's photo should be on that wall recognizing staff for superior service. You are lucky to have him. Thanks Jeff.

The staff were incredibly thoughtful and attentive. Every detail of my room was notices and serviced everyday, including making sure that I had enough decaf coffee and the bathroom amenities were refreshed. Consistent with this personal touch the staff greeted me by name, even the housekeepers in the hallway when I left in the morning. The food was excellent and I was very impressed that the food served in my room was hot and fresh.

We arrived for check on considerably early (6 hours beforehand). It was quick & easy. Our original room was not ready at the time, so we were offered an upgraded room for an extra $75CAD per night. This was helpful as wr were then able to
Unpack, shower and rest after a 15 hour long flight.

The room was clean & so spacious. Enough room for two people to easily walk around and speed their stuff out.

The small window in the bottom corner meant that we could leave it open at our leisure for some fresh air.

The bathroom was also spacious with enough bench space for two people to spread their toiletries across. I am
not the biggest fan over over-bath showers, but the pressure more gab made up for that. There appeared to be no exhaust fan, which made for one very wet and steamy bathroom after showering. Would be nice to have had better ventilation in there. The only trick was to leave the bathroom door open ajar.

My only issue with the hotel arose when it came to the mini fridge. We opened the door to remove some items so that we could fit some medicine inside… little did we know it was on a sensor and therefore charged us for what we removed but did not consume. This remained pending on our account for over a week after checkout. Perhaps inform your guests about the minibar when they check in.

Stayed four nights at the Fairmont Waterfront and overall it was a great experience. The location by Canada Place is excellent as it puts you within walking distance of Stanley Park and Gastown. There are also many tourist busses departing there, including the shuttle to the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Waterfront station is also nearby so you are on the Canada Line which you take you directly to YVR.

The rooms were clean and spacious and ours had a sweeping view of the harbor. The bed and pillows were all very comfortable. The shower had great water pressure as well. The highlight of the stay was the staff - everyone was so warm and friendly, particularly the servers at the restaurant.

Nonetheless, the hotel is kind of showing its age. This is most apparent in the lack of power outlets in the room, particularly by the bed. The lamps were also kind of wonky and would sometimes just turn on by themselves. However, it won't distract you from a great stay!

If you are traveling to Vancouver to embark upon a cruise, the Fairmont Waterfront is the place to stay. Immediately across from Canada Place, Vancouver’s cruise embarkation point, the Fairmont Waterfront remains true to the brand’s reputation for service and clean, comfortable accommodations. The bell staff will even arrange to transfer your luggage directly to the cruise ship. We spent three nights at the hotel before departing on our cruise. Our room was immaculate - the bathroom sparkled - and the on-property ARC restaurant was superb (ask for Julie to be your server). At every level, the service was genuinely warm and helpful. I would commend the Fairmont Waterfront to any Vancouver visitor, whether or not they are embarking on a cruise. The hotel’s location is convenient to virtually any of the city’s business or pleasure locations. It’s just a great place to stay.

I had a great stay at Fairmont Waterfront for 4 nights in a Signature Harbour Room. The location was perfect for a downtown stay with great restaurants near by. I ubered to and from Granville Island often and sometimes the uber drivers could not find the Fairmont gate right away, otherwise it was fine. The room had a great harbour view from the 19th floor and house keeping did a great job keeping it clean. At one point I ran out of AA batteries and texted the concierge who provided me with extra batteries. Overall service was great and concierge was very helpful! Breakfast at the ARC restaurant in the lobby was delicious and I would recommend!

We loved our stay at Fairmont waterfront. Our room was quite large and had a nice coffee maker - it was Nepresso not keurig as mentioned in previous reviews. Housekeeping did an amazing job each day and all of the concierge service was so helpful and friendly. I used the gym once and it had a nice selection of free weights (I don’t use the other equipment). The location was close to Gastown, and I walked to Robson street for shopping. It’s too bad the mini fridge was full - you can’t store your own things in there. Parking is also expensive - honestly we probably should not have rented a car. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Excellent views, we were upgraded (for a small fee) to a corner room overlooking the Harbour and it had a king size bed which was great as my husband is quite tall. Vijay on the front desk when we arrived was so helpful and detailed with information during our visit. The lady who served us in the Arc Restaurant was awesome and their bartender makes the best spicy margaritas I’ve had to date. Food was delicious, especially the lamb cutlets. We were getting on a cruise to Alaska, our bags were transported to the ship without complication. Would highly recommend staying at the Fairmont Waterfront 10/10.

My family and I stayed here in (2) rooms pre cruise to Alaska on Silversea. This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff could not be nicer especially in the restaurant. The rooms are pristine with Le Labo amenities, comfortable luxurious bath robes & slippers, a Nespresso machine, and a huge flat screen TV. The even allowed us a later check out of one of our rooms which was so convenient as we did not want to store our luggage and valuables. The hotel is walking distance to practically everything and across the street from the Port of Vancouver where we took off on our cruise.

The only downfall on the front desk part is that upon arrival of 6:00PM - I asked if our two rooms could be together and he said because it is later in the day, he will need time to check and see if he can get them together. I asked about having a waterfront view and front agent stated that those are available for an additional 50 USD per night per room. As a former hotel manager - I could tell he was just trying to upsell the rooms however he could have given them to us complimentary as I did state I worked in hotels previously and after making his comment 'it's already so late in the day our availability is limited' he magically had 2 rooms next to each other with waterfront views? Weird - as I would always upgrade guests in NYC if we had the availability to go above and beyond and wow the guest. Left a slight sour taste in my mouth but nonetheless this hotel still deserves 5 stars.

I'm not sure, as we are Canadian and don't need an antigen test for flying domestically. However, we have booked appointments in advance for antigen tessts at Shoppers Drug Mart near our home when we've travelled out of country. There are at least two locations not far from The Fairmont Waterfront so I would try one of those two stores. I've been to both and I believe they both have parmacies. When you search Shoppers Drug Mart for the tests, narrow the search to Vancouver BC and use the address of the hotel to narrow the search further. It can be a bit confusing. If that doesn't work you can have the testing done at YVR (Vancouver airport) but it's usually more expensive.
