It is hard to find a relatively cheap hotel in Vancouver without losing quality. I chose this hotel because it was affordable. I have to say I was impressed. It's a old hotel, but it's beautifully decorated. The washrooms are new, beautiful and very clean, and I didn't have to wait to use them although we shared them with other... More

I've spent 2 nights in this hotel in downtown of Vancouver. Check-in was not a good experience, I've discovered that to get from my room to private bathroom I need to go through corridor (2,0 meters, but its not private anymore;) ). I've asked hotel staff to solve that, and they offerred me room upgrade for half prize. This was... More

This was our first time in Vancouver and the first hotel we stayed at. Very easy to find and convenient hotel to shopping, restaurants and really everything in downtown Vancouver. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The room was pretty small, but had everything we needed. The bed was comfy, well worth paying the slight extra for the King... More

It is pretty and clean...we had a shared bathroom but you never had to wait for the bathroom and they were clean. Free breakfast in am it was ok...not a lot... More

The hotel is right in front of a Salvation Army, however, we found the place to be quite and safe. Our room was beautiful, well furnished, nice bed and very nice bathroom as welll. They also have complimentary wi-fi and breakfast. The building is a heritage one and so beautiful and well kept.

I very much enjoyed my stay here. The room was clean, and very comfortable, and much larger than I anticipated. I stayed with two friends, and we had two double beds, with an en suite bathroom. Not all rooms have a bathroom in the room, some are shared bathrooms. This is the oldest hotel in Vancouver that has been gorgeously... More

This is a nice hotel with sadly a bit to small rooms. The location just outside Gastown is the biggest plus of this hotel. What makes it a bit sad to stay is the poor finishing from electrical and waterpipes. You are expecting more for the price you pay for a room with breakfast. The breakfast was very basic. More... SanderCools, thank you for submitting your comments. I'm so glad you liked the location and I just wish you had a chance to stay in one of our regular rooms. Obviously you were looking for more space. There are 5 smaller rooms in the hotel that are better suited for individuals. As for the water pipes, guests may see one... More

I thoroughly enjoy my stay at this European Style boutique hotel every time I visit Vancouver. It is the friendly staff that keep me coming back, especially Cecile at the front desk. She greets me, and all her guests like old friends, and always takes the time to make recommendations on the best dinner spots or places I must see,... More

Checked in and was assigned a room with a skylight that had been covered with a piece of metal and the TV did not work. Asked for another room and was moved down the hall, slightly better. When we checked out we found our phone did not work and so we struggled down the stairs with our two large bags.... More

This lovely hotel is in a terrific location for visiting downtown Vancouver, steps from Gastown and Chinatown. Staying in Gastown

Neighborhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
