Good value for $. Close to venues and easy access to sky train and ample taxis. Both restaurants were excellent and affordable. Staff were great. Rooms were in need of updating but comfortable. Will definitely stay again!

Me and a friend went to check in this hotel few days ago , their staffs were accommodating and friendly at first . They offered us parking just across the street, but it wasn't free , we have to pay. I thought it was safe to park our car there since they use bar code and swipe car to go in and out of their parking area. Few hours later me and my friend went back to our car and found out it was broken into. Their staffs only told us to report what happened to the police , other than that they dont want to take responsibility of what happened. The whole hotel have cameras everywhere , on their lobby , hallway , but not in their parking area. Parking area should be their responsibility as well to make it secure .They have bar code & swipe card to open and close the gate of their parking area but they didnt install a camera. We have lost 2k worth of personal items inside our car , we had place those item inside the trunk and it wasn't visible from outside .. For those people who are planning to book in this place , make sure dont leave any valuable items inside your car.. Hard lesson to learn.. i will never book in this hotel again or recommend it to other people.

This quaint "boutique" hotel is great for the area - close walking distance to many venues. Bar and restaurant connected are a definite PLUS. The room was not spacious but not cramped - Clean and comfortable.

It's an older building, drafty old windows. Old heaters that are loud, but need to be on in March. Great location downtown, close to everything. Really cheap bedding, bad pillows, but it was one of the cheapest rooms on the online for the nights I wanted. The room has a coffee maker, a wardrobe, and a full ironing board to set up and use, pretty handy for a cheap room, but definitely not a place to impress anyone or write home about.

Overall I had a good 5-night stay at the Moda. The staff were excellent. The bed was comfy. The bathroom was clean. The location was good (although there were many homeless/mentally unstable people around which could feel a bit sketchy at night). The quirks - the room smelled really musty but I didn’t notice it after a few mins. The bedding was annoying as it was a sheet, blanket and a second sheet - all of which would slip apart during the night. The floors were uneven. The AC was loud and not very effective at keeping the room warm. Also the windows were not double glazed (!) so you could hear a lot of street noise. I slept well every night despite this. I probably wouldn’t stay here again but I was happy with my stay overall.
