I stayed here for 6nights and most of the time didn't even use the room. In fact, I think I didn't have trash in the room to clear. Upon checking out, I was told that I have to pay $12 ($2 per day) for its zero waste programme. It came as a surprise for me because I wasn't inform about...

I stayed twice, in May 2016, before and after a cruise. Had a room on the 5th floor both times and the room size is great. Decor efficient if a little tired, but I understand they're working on that. Room was at the front so I enjoyed a nice balcony and a partial view of English bay. It can get...

We traveled for medical reasons and wanted to use our Best Western points for one night. Sands was less expensive and the original hotel we used before, THE DOWNTOWN BW On Granville Was no more. We didn't get a view of ocean.

The Sands is really just steps from the Sand. If you are lucky to get a front water facing room, you actually can watch the sunset from the balcony or even the room. It is close enough to downtown to walk. Parking works well too which can be a challenge this close to the city center. friendly staff, clean rooms,...

Right close to Stanley Park....a must-do highlight on a Vancouver visit! A very decent hotel for the money, with the friendliest staff around. Tons of restos and shops around too. Bus stop right outside the hotel. Great bed and dreamy pillows. Very recommended!

Stayed here for 8 days. The room was adequate and provided the norm; was surprised about getting a microwave which was a great plus. Everything was great from the friendly front desk, thorough housekeeping and food served at the downstairs restaurant. The restaurant had great deals throughout the week if you're not up for exploring Davie street. That being said,...

Noise from traffic was really loud in the room and bathroom was a bit small. Very good apart from that, bed was comfy. Staff very friendly. Very well situated for walking along English bay and going into downtown area.

We stayed here for 3 nights. A very good location for people who like walks on the beach. Nice clean rooms with tv, microwave and fridge. They have happy hours till 6 pm at foods and beer and a very beautiful sight of the ocean. I definitely recommend it and we will come back soon.

This was a gem of a hotel. Great rooms and a great restaurant and bar downstairs. Great for a short stay and a short stroll to the beach and some wonderful restaurants and only about a 10 minute walk to Stanley Park and to the city. You can also walk the sea walk from here as well but it takes...

It would need a major overhaul. We booked this hotel because it was a best western "PLUS". We have always had great experiences at the plus hotels. Our first room had a bunch of mould around the a/c unit. "My wife and kids have Asthma" Btw it would have not been good for anyone. They moved us to another room...

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
