Classy privately-owned boutique hotel and spa with old-world charm.
This place is filled with antique furnishings, dark wood panelling and Persian rugs. Our spacious room included lots of storage with both a closet and a dresser. While guest rooms can overlook the city, the mountains, or the Robson Square Gardens… unfortunately, we got one of the "Alley View" suites. It is nice to have a balcony to sit on, even if the view was not great. However, the sound of bottles being dumped at 2 am was unpleasant. The early morning seagull cries brought to mind roosters on a farm. Facilities include a spa and a surprisingly well-equipped fitness center. I took advantage of the Spa and was amazed by the strength in Annie’s small hands while receiving the coffee scrub. There is an attached restaurant, Bacchus, with a piano lounge, featuring Murano stained glass and a carved limestone fireplace. The location is absolutely central, across from Robson Square, in the heart of downtown. Walk straight down the street to the waterfront, with shopping options along the way. Or up the street two blocks to The Cinematheque and catch a film. (We lucked into a film noir festival!) The Wedgewood elevator key card system is a horrible joke, the card demagnetizes if you think about walking by a cellphone, ours were replaced four times during our short stay. The staff always seemed eager to help, especially Kirby who was always quick with a smile and a local recommendation. The top hat and tails are a nice touch. Always read your bills, room service pricing includes a surcharge AND an automatic gratuity.
Dear E2096QFrobertm, Thank you for choosing the Wedgewood Hotel and Spa, and for taking the time to write this incredibly thoughtful review! We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us, and that the spa, overall décor, and location were particularly notable. It is also wonderful to hear that our staff's dedication to service was a standout; as a third generation family-owned and operated boutique property, we aim to ensure that our passion for hospitality is communicated to those who stay or dine with us! Please accept our sincere apologies regarding the room key inconvenience- we are updating our key-card system this winter so it should not be an issue for your next visit! Please rest assured that your positive feedback will be shared with our staff members. Comments such as yours are truly appreciated by all of us, as that is what motivates us to continue to strive towards high standards! We look forward to welcoming you to back to the Wedgewood again! Warm regards, Eleni J Guest Relations

A nice escape in stressful times!
We spent 6 nights at the Wedgewood recently as a quasi "stay-cation". The hotel is well prepared for current circumstances, with a very high level of cleanliness, mask use by staff and other thoughtful but unobtrusive protective measures. The hotel was quiet but not empty, and a very enjoyable and relaxing stay ensued. A high quality breakfast was available in our spacious room with balcony, and the ever-pleasant Bacchus Lounge was available for drinks or dinner most evenings. The location is very central for all downtown Vancouver attractions and amenities, yet also quiet, situated across from the well landscaped Law Courts. We will return as soon as possible!
Dear jamesmU9190RL, Thank you for your review and for staying with us. It is wonderful to know that you had an enjoyable 'staycation' here in Vancouver and that you appreciated our variety of health and wellness services and amenities. Our culinary team at award winning Bacchus Restaurant & Lounge will be especially appreciative of your feedback on your dining experiences. It would be our pleasure to have you stay again soon. Warm regards, Glenn Eleiter General Manager

    Excellent Stay!
We stayed at the Wedgwood Hotel on Jul 10 2020, for 1 night . During the covid era you will receive some emails where you can request certain amenities in your room, and you can check in the day before upload your credit card information and all you need to do when you arrive is show your ID for a quick contactless check in. The doorman Kirby was fantastic extremely friendly and well informed, made it clear on the covid cleaning for the valet and each time we would step out or in the hotel always had a fantastic greeting and shared a story or two, Kirby is a asset to the hotel and makes you feel special in your stay. In our room they provided two masks that were airtight sealed and hand sanitizer, the room was extremely clean and well taken care of, when we order room service for breakfast it was within 20 min and contactless they bring the trolley with your food straight to your door and they step back and allow you to grab your food. One of the biggest pros of the covid era hotel stay was the communication threw text, when we got into our room we received a text from the concierge to welcome us and that we could use the chat for any questions or concerns we also made our dinner reservation via text message, this limits the interaction and congestion in the front. Overall we had a fantastic stay, the hotel is well maintained, every employee interaction was always positive, they have really gone the extra mile to make your stay a special one and a safe one.
Dear Chris V, Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review. We are delighted to know that you appreciated the variety of services we offer including contactless check-in, full valet service with sanitary wipes and fresh gloves, contactless In-Room Dining, complimentary wellness amenities as well as 24/7 Text Concierge service. Our talented colleagues, such as our Doorman, Kirby, will be thrilled to read your comments. We sincerely look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Warm regards, Glenn Eleiter General Manager

Friendly, helpful team that consistently give good service - be it the Valet, Front desk or restaurant team. Personable and I love the bar for evening drink and piano player. It’s got that classic hotel feel.

Room Tip: For "City View" suites ask for a higher floor, the sound of bottles being dumped at 2AM is annoying.

Excellent four night stay at the Wedgewood Hotel. Staff were extremely helpful, our meal in the bacchus restaurant was wonderful, and Melvyn the concierge provided us with first class service and advice. We would highly recommend a stay at the Wedgewood Hotel when visiting Vancouver.

This boutique hotel gave us a luxury visit in Vancouver. From the moment you enter you are treated like a very special guest. This hotel delivers 5 star service at every level. We ordered room service late one evening and they accommodated. The staff was top flight. I will definitely stay with them again if I return to Vancouver.

We spent the last few days of an extended holiday in Canada to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary at the Wedgewood which coincided with the actual date of our Anniversary. On arrival we received an extremely warm welcome. All of the Wedgewood staff team went above and beyond to ensure that we would have the best possible experience. My wife I could not have hoped for a better place to enjoy our Anniversary.

A beautiful hotel right in the middle of downtown Vancouver, making it easy to get to anything via a short walk to Yaletown, Granville Island water taxi or the convention center on the waterfront. The rooms are very stately both in size and decor. The staff was exceptional, welcoming, friendly and accommodating. We would highly recommend staying at the Wedgewood Hotel and Spa.

We were surprised with an upgrade to a suite, which was very roomy, luxurious, and quiet. The staff was alway extremely welcoming, attentive, and prompt. It was almost like they’re reading your mind. Valet service was very fast, either leaving or picking up your car. Would definitely stay there again.
