Reviews Summary

Powered by AI
The Hilton Vancouver Downtown receives accolades from guests for its exceptional service, with staff members known for their responsiveness and professionalism. The hotel boasts a prime location that many travelers appreciate for its easy access to local attractions. Clean, spacious rooms with modern amenities and beautiful views are often highlighted, though some guests mention the rooms can feel a bit cramped for luggage. While the overall atmosphere and cleanliness standards earn rave reviews, the value proposition is sometimes questioned due to high room rates and additional charges.

My husband and I went to Vancouver for a city break and stayed at this hotel. The customer service was great. People from the front desk and breakfast. They were extremely helpful and going the extra mile with the service. Our bedroom was neat and clean with a really comfy bed. It has good amenities and the quality of the coffee was good.

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed at the Hilton Vancouver Downtown, with arrival on Friday, June 23rd for 3 nights with departure on Monday, June 26th. (In fact, we are still here for our last night as I write this). Of course, I fell in love with this whole city; however, I also loved this hotel. A great central location within the city, you are close to Yaletown, Gastown, the stadiums and casinos and then just a little bit farther to Waterfront, Aquatic Center (ferry to Granville) and more. This entire city is very walkable to those who have easily mobility access by foot. Plenty of restaurants nearby the hotel. Everyone at this property has been super. We stayed in Room 2100, which overlooked the Stadium and Skyline. The room itself is in great condition and has a separate living room apart form the king bedroom and large bathroom with soaking tub and separate shower. As Diamond members, you get a nice continental breakfast in the restaurant each morning. The breakfast includes all items, except for the 6 hot items, which you can pay for and upgrade to; however, we found the included continental to be very sufficient. The person who checked us in was Jian, and he was super nice, also checking in with us during our stay. Kudos to him and the entire staff and team. Look forward to eventually returning in the future!

Really enjoyed this 4 night stay in Vancouver. The location was convenient when we experienced an Arctic outflow event on the second day with temperatures below zero. It was not only cold, there was black ice on the streets so it was better to stay within a few blocks of the hotel. It worked out great that nearby the hotel there was so much to do and some great restaurants. Good: - size of the rooms (we booked two queen beds with city view) - amount of storage - views of the city stretching to the mountains - good housekeeping - kettle and microwave was available Could be better: - even though breakfast was included, it was a separate and sizable charge for the hot items (the eggs and bacon etc that was sitting out was excluded). I think I would've been more tempted if the hot items seemed a better value. - elevators did get slow

This is a great property in downtown Vancouver for families. Most if not all the rooms are suites with separate sleeping areas. The restaurant, Hendrix, has a good breakfast buffet that makes the kiddos happy. And the staff, especially Lisa and the rest of the concierge team, are super welcoming and helpful. We’ve stayed here multiple times and will do so again on our next trip to Vancouver.

It was my 1st time at the Hilton downtown Vancouver. It was wonderful! The facility was immaculate (as was the room), with lovely amenities (appreciated the free Starbucks coffee in the lobby in the morning & the agua fresca in the dispenser on the ground floor was a nice touch). While I didn’t use the pool, friends did & really enjoyed it. The room, a one-bedroom suite, was very spacious, nicely designed & very comfortable. A highlight was the excellent housekeeping service. In an environment where hotels seem to be reducing housekeeping service, it was wonderful to return to the room each day & find it had been refreshed! Thank you. As well, I asked once for more decaf Nespresso pods & housekeeping remembered to replenish the decaf pods each day without being asked after the 1st time. Such nice attention to detail. It was fantastic visit with great staff.

The location was excellent and I loved the room as it was a bedroom and sitting area separate. I felt welcomed when I arrived early and the hotel checked me in immediately (4 hours early). The fridge was stocked with good drinks and snacks. I recommend that they put some other snacks rather than only sweet ones.

We stayed in a 1bedroom suite on the 19th floor. The view was amazing and the kids appreciated the space. The bed was comfortable. The pull out couch was decent. Upon check in I was concerned about the presence of only 2 elevators for a hotel of ~30 floors. It was not a problem despite the hotel being full. The location was great. So many places to walk to and see. Kids were happy to go to japadog so close by and open very late. They came by to clean our room every day, without being asked! We were so surprised because it’s the first place we’ve stayed at since the pandemic that offered this service. We’d like to stay here next time we are in town.

We decided to stay at the Hilton Downtown because our usual hotel – the nearby Hampton – was charging a rate that, quite frankly, is inexcusable. Over $500 per night, including tax? For a Hampton? Give me a break. If I was staying at a Fairmont property, or Vancouver’s L’Hermitage, that rate would be justifiable, but not here – not for a Hampton. And for those who’re curious, the Hilton Downtown charged us just over $270 a night, which is far more reasonable given the time of year and class of hotel. I understand prices are generally higher during Vancouver’s “high season” (which seems to get longer with each passing year), but the rates most hotels charge in the current day are just outlandish. It wasn’t even just a couple of years ago you could stay at the Hampton on Robson for about $240 a night during the peak tourist season. Now, we’re just getting greedy. . . In any event, we enjoyed our stay at the Hilton, not just because it offered far better value for money, but also because the location is more central and the customer service we received was beyond reproach. Really, this hotel is an exemplary example of what all Hilton-branded hotels should strive to be. As noted, the Hilton Downtown is central – located along bustling Robson Street (see my earlier review of Robson Street on this site). Thus, whether you’re traveling for business or pleasure, practically everything you need is right at your doorstep: Countless boutiques and shops; easy access to public transit, including bus and SkyTrain; a number of notable tourist attractions nearby, including BC Place, historic Chinatown, Vancouver Public Library, and the Pacific Centre, to name but a few; and, of course any number of great restaurants: Black Rice, Jollibee, Glowbal, JAPADOG, Maruhachi Ramen, A&W, Bacchus (recent Michelin star recipient), amongst others. It’s kind of funny . . . part of the reason my partner and I were excited to stay at the Hilton is because two of our casual favourites, Atealier and Curry Fusion, were literally across the street . . . or so we thought! Turns out both closed in early 2023 and are home to new eateries: “rollzy” and “KDS Norwegian Waffles.” Maybe we’ll try them one day? Our room – a one-bedroom suite w/ king bed – was nice. The grey and off-white walls helped to create a “soft” and warm atmosphere, which we found quite relaxing. The living room featured a pullout couch, smart flatscreen TV and work desk. The separate bedroom was fairly basic, but had many a charging port for our mobile devices. More importantly, the bed was very comfortable, lending to a good night’s rest after a couple of long days exploring Metro Vancouver. The bathroom was also spacious, modern and featured a walk-in shower. WiFi quality was very good as well. The only thing I didn’t care for in our room was the tiny table in front of the couch – made for limited foot space and also made the living room feel kind of cramped. We did not try any of the in-house restaurants (Starbucks and Hendricks). I really do have to give many a kudo to the staff at this Hilton. Everybody we encountered made us feel so welcomed! Special shout out to the folks who work the main entranceway. They went out of their way to ensure a positive experience, displaying a consummate level of professionalism rarely seen. Will the Hilton Downtown be our new “go to” accommodation? It’s hard to say; after all, old habits die hard and we’ve been loyal patrons of the Hampton on Robson since 2008! However, in today’s world, I think our loyalty is more in our wallet than to a specific property ;)
