Nestled in the heart of downtown Vancouver, the Hilton Vancouver Downtown receives accolades for its spotless environment and modern, well-appointed rooms featuring comfortable beds. While the atmosphere is generally praised, noise on higher floors can be a concern, and some guests find the rooms a tad dated. The hotel's location is a major draw, with easy access to local dining and attractions, despite some noise insulation issues. Staff members earn rave reviews for their exceptional service, and while amenities are satisfactory, opinions on the continental breakfast and pool are mixed.

We stayed here on 4/30 (room 2506) and 5/8 (Room 2906). We thought the hotel was one of the nicest we have been to and enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is about a 15 min walk (with luggage) from the downtown metro stop; about an hour ride and walk (via Canada Line) to the airport. It's about 20 to 30 min (walk and metro). from the hotel to Canada Place where the cruise ships depart from.
The hotel is only a few blocks from where the Canucks play hockey.
The hotel will store your luggage if you arrive early and there is parking (for a fee) available
The rooms had an identical layout. They were good sized, had lots of counter space in the bathroom, good water pressure, comfortable beds , a nespresso machine, microwave and minifridge (which is a minibar stocked with items for sale).
The staff was excellent, esp.the front desk. We found the concierge (on the ground floor level by the bellhop area) helpful in planning our walking tour of Vancouver.
We had dinner in the restaurant and thought the food was good and service OK.
There is a full breakfast available (fairly expensive) and if you are a Gold or Diamond Hilton Honors member you get a continental breakfast for free. We thought the continental breakfast was OK.
We would stay here again.

We stayed at the Hilton Vancouver Downtown, with arrival on Friday, June 23rd for 3 nights with departure on Monday, June 26th. (In fact, we are still here for our last night as I write this).

Of course, I fell in love with this whole city; however, I also loved this hotel. A great central location within the city, you are close to Yaletown, Gastown, the stadiums and casinos and then just a little bit farther to Waterfront, Aquatic Center (ferry to Granville) and more. This entire city is very walkable to those who have easily mobility access by foot. Plenty of restaurants nearby the hotel.

Everyone at this property has been super. We stayed in Room 2100, which overlooked the Stadium and Skyline. The room itself is in great condition and has a separate living room apart form the king bedroom and large bathroom with soaking tub and separate shower.

As Diamond members, you get a nice continental breakfast in the restaurant each morning. The breakfast includes all items, except for the 6 hot items, which you can pay for and upgrade to; however, we found the included continental to be very sufficient.

The person who checked us in was Jian, and he was super nice, also checking in with us during our stay. Kudos to him and the entire staff and team.

Look forward to eventually returning in the future!

We stayed at the Hilton Vancouver Downtown before our cruise to Alaska. I picked the hotel because we are Diamond Hilton Honors members and we wanted a full service hotel (v. the Hampton Inn that is nearby). We had a 1 room suite, which I think is a typical room. Hotel was perfectly located for our purposes. We had continental breakfast both mornings (included for Diamond members). It was fine. Fruit, cold pastries, yogurt, toast, etc... We could have upgraded for $14 CAN to the hot breakfast, but we chose not to spend the money.

I also want to praise the Hilton's concierge, Lisa. She is friendly and a wealth of knowledge. She helped us pre-stay decide how to watch the Celebration of Lights fireworks and she gave us great advice. A+ for Lisa!

The room was spacious and quiet. The bedroom was a bit tight on each side of the queen bed, but that didn't really matter to us. It was nice to have the living room as we needed to shuffle some stuff from flying to cruising. Bathroom was nice size, with a good shower. The drain was a bit backed up the first day, but maintenance fixed it immediately upon report to the front desk.

The only real negative was the elevators. There are only 2 (and more than 20 floors), which made for long walks from time to time.

First and foremost, we thought the staff at the Hilton Vancouver Downtown were all tremendous. Everyone we encountered was helpful, kind and had a smile on their face. It pains me that I cannot remember the name of the gentleman who works on the ground level next to the concierge desk, but he was particularly friendly and went out of his way to play around with our toddler. The other main positive for this property is its location. We were able to walk just about everywhere in the city from the property, and there are a number of great restaurants within blocks of the hotel including Per Se Social Corner and Italian Kitchen.

All of that said, we nearly checked out of the hotel within the first few minutes of arrival and probably should have. The first room we entered was a queen suite, which was a cramped, very dated room. With a crib for our toddler, the room was stuffy and there was not much room to walk around. We were upgraded to a king suite, which was nicer in size, but was similarly dated and needing upgrading. By way of example, USB chargers built into the nightstand were falling out of their ports and the furniture was scratched up and showing its age. Air conditioning in the room was weak, and with the bedroom door closed, it became too warm to stay in.

While the location is wonderful, there is hardly any noise insulation on the windows. Even on the 19th floor, we regularly heard music, honking and general street sounds into the late hours and early in the morning. We were also frustrated with the parking garage, where many spots on the first two levels are reserved for valet parking (but not in use), requiring us to go down several levels in the very tight garage to find a parking spot.

As for the Hendricks restaurant, we were looking forward to the breakfast that comes with our status. The continental breakfast offered for members with status was rather sad. On our first day we tried stale muffins and pastries, and less than good granola. With few other options open in the early morning hours nearby, we ordered off the menu other days -- and the food was fine. It would be nice if the property would offer those with status the option to forego the continental breakfast and receive a small credit toward food items ordered off the menu.

Unfortunately, the rooms are not soundproof: the thin windows let in every siren from the emergency vehicles at night, and the elevators continue to roar from the early hours of the morning.
The breakfast is a disaster: the staff are completely dull and unfriendly. If you are the first in line in front of the breakfast room, you are told that there are other people waiting behind you when there are free tables! "Told" is an understatement. "Yelled at" would be the right expression!
Orders are forgotten or the wrong thing is brought. Omelette with ham for the vegetarian is a no-no. We had everything included, but it wouldn't have been worth 39 CAD.
I can't recommend the hotel. Hilton hasn't just lost a lot of quality.

The Hilton Downtown Vancouver Hotel is the only hotel that has dedicated (for our ship) transportation to the cruise dock at Canada Place. That was the reason for this overnight stay. The bus trip took 6 minutes. We had a 7th floor suite room with a view of the Deloitte Tower and the Vancouver Public Library. Some homeless people frequent the park by the library. They are not a threat, but watchfulness is a good idea.
The room had a TV, and a mini-fridge. The hotel provides an exercise room, and an outdoor pool with a hot tub on the 3rd floor. Basic unsecured Wi-Fi is available in the room. Parking and breakfast are available with separate charges. There is a guest laundry and an open alcove that serves as a business center. It is pet friendly with additional charges, and children are welcome.
The room was quiet, comfortable, and large. The bathroom was equipped with bathrobes, a hairdryer, and nice amenities. There was a queen bed and a foldout sofa bed.
The next morning, the transport bus came to the underground garage for the 0.7-mile trip to Canada Place to the cruise ship.

The hotel has a good location in downtown Vancouver. We stayed in a king bed deluxe 2 room suite which was very comfortable. The pool deck is also nice, if a little small so if its a sunny day the sunbeds fill up quickly. Also the pool bar is closed most of the time so no refreshments are available. Our main issue was with the breakfast. As Hilton Honors Gold you get the continental breakfast included and have to pay an additional $14 for the hot options. The continental for a hilton is below standard with basic options poorly presented. Other guests who want a hot breakfast go for the a la carte menu, hence the hot breakfast buffet sits untouched and looks unappealing and is only just warm, certainly not worth paying extra. Rather than offer this food to its most loyal Gold and Diamond members for no extra charge they throw it away. I find it disappointing that a major hotel brand is not engaging in reducing food waste. I asked reception for the General Manager Jeff Leung's email and send him 2 emails on this subject and he did not have the courtesy to reply to either. The service for breakfast was also lacking in warmth. We had planned on eating dinner at the hotel, but after the breakfast experience decided not to as there are many options a short walk away. We would not stay here again.

Good location, in the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. Decor is up to date, room perfectly fine If a little small- bed comfortable. Pool facilities good with excellent views and added something extra to the stay.
One complaint I do have is bottled water isn’t provided as standard in the rooms, you have to ring down to reception and ask for them which is very odd and kind of annoying when you wake up and don’t want to drink the tap water. Also, I rang reception to ask for water on one occasion and they never came so I had to go to the desk on my way out.
Another thing is they’re still not doing room cleaning service unless asked which I find quite odd as most places I’ve been to have resumed their usual daily service now (didn’t particularly bother me - but paying £200+ a night you would think that came as standard)
Generally did like this hotel but probably would go somewhere less expensive if travelling solo again.

Dear Lsrg33, We are very sorry to hear your room had no water when you checked in. All our room are equipped with 2 bottles upon arrival in the room. It is standard. You can also grab bottles any time you pass front desk or bell desk during the day. I am also sorry to hear the water never came even after you ordered it. Resuming full cleaning service is not possible at the moment due to severe staff shortages that we are dealing with. It is also a Hilton standard in North America. Your room rate is a reflection of excessive pent up demand at the moment and when demand subsides so will the room rates. We hope to see you again. Sincerely, Pradeep Puri

Hotel is in an excellent location convenient for metro, shopping, bars and restaurants. The rooms are more spacious than they appear in photos; we had a 1 bed suite for a family of 4 “adults”. The pool is lovely and wasn’t too crowded so plenty of room to chill. The main issue we encountered was the breakfast. Firstly we were told categorically by the staff member that only 2 breakfast were included in the room rate (despite us having a room for 4 adults!). We were told that additional people would have to pay $40 each for the breakfast. We almost decided that 2 of our party would go without but I insisted that the staff member check with reception and when she came back she simply said “you can go ahead” no apology or anything for making such a scene which was quite frankly a bit embarrassing. The breakfast was definitely not up to Hilton standards and we have stayed at many others. The selection was small and we were also not told until after we had eaten that we could have ordered a selection of eggs. The breakfast was supposed to be a nice treat for us all but instead left a sour taste over what was otherwise a decent enough hotel, although possibly a little pricey.

Dear Jingo33, Our sincere apologies for the mix up with the breakfast. That should have never happened. We should have explained in a more clear way the situation and followed up. We are sorry. On the buffet itself what items would you have liked to see more of? We currently have 35-40 items on the buffet. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the room and the pool. We hope you will consider staying with us again should you visit Vancouver. We hope your travels back home were pleasant and enjoyable. Sincerely, Pradeep Puri

This hotel has a great location on Robson St. easy to walk to many places Vancouver has to offer. Yeletown is about 10 minutes away so is Cole Harbour The waterfront is close by and easily reachable so are Denman st, English Bay and Stanley park.
Many restaurants and cafés in the area, two supermarkets , IGA and H-Mart.
The hotel has 1 bedroom suites with amazing design . The living and bedrooms are spacious with amazing view of the city. The bathroom is separate from the bedroom so one can close the door. It’s a very smart design and affords privacy for traveling companion with different schedules.
The room has a mini fridge, a microwave, kettle and a coffee maker. Very quiet rooms . We didn’t hear our neighbors . We didn't hear the noise from the busy street either (on the 25th floor). It seems the windows have very good sound insulation.
The service in this hotel is outstanding! We stayed there for 8 nights and never heard a No ! Every thing we asked for was happily accommodated. The front desk was always very helpful and accommodating so was housekeeping and especially the bellmen who were always eager to help and eager to greet guests coming and going. The restaurant had great service. The servers were lovely and engaging.
This hotel delivers on all fronts, what a great addition for a Hilton property in the center of Vancouver.
We will happily go back to this hotel when we are in Vancouver.
Thank you very much for a wonderful stay!
