Yes, this hotel is expensive, but so is everything right at this moment in time. If its within your budget, you will enjoy your stay here. Despite the universal shortage of staff plaguing the service industry in Canada and the U,S., the staff at this Hilton couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. This includes he excellent onsite restaurant for breakfast, drinks and dinner. The staff there was outstanding. This hotel has underground parking with self parking in and out privileges at a cost per day. Valet is more. Our suite was well designed and the hotel location cannot be beat. We will not hesitate to make this our hotel during our return visit.

Hotel's Favorite
From start to finish, this was a good experience. We had stayed here previously, when it was under another brand and nothing has changed. All the staff is great (friendly and willing to help) from the porters to front desk and housekeeping. Extra towels were delivered within 10 minutes. It has a lovely pool. The beds are firm and not worn out like so many other hotels we have been to. Highly recommended plus a great location for shopping and business.

Great location, property, and staff. This was my first time in Vancouver and I’m very happy to have stayed here. All of the staff I met were wonderful and took care of everything needed. I wish I was still there! Bonus points for the great hot tub right on the balcony. The only recommendation is to budget extra time for breakfast. Sometimes there is a line to get in and get seated.

Dear eblewett, Thank you very much for your comments. We are so pleased to hear you had a great stay and enjoyed hotel and the service provided by our staff. We are working to increase our capacity to handle breakfast rush and to reduce wait times. Unfortunately this year shortage of labor really hampered us. We would love to have you back again. We hope your trip back home was pleasant. Sincerely, Pradeep Puri

Very nice room and a great location. They gave us the nicest room in the hotel. Nice balcony overlooking downtown. Floor to ceiling windows in both the living room and the bedroom. Beautiful shower and a huge soaking tub. Great refrigerator, microwave and bar area. One bad thing though. They had a Nespresso coffee machine but no regular American Coffee. They had a very nice electric kettle but no coffee tubes like they do at some Hiltons. No coffee in the lobby area either. Breakfast was only so so. As a Diamond Member I have had better breakfast at almost every Hilton property I’ve stayed at. Other than that, another great stay

Dear Bill V: Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We were pleased to see that overall you had a great stay. Our one bedroom suites with balconies are always a wonderful option to enjoy the city views in the summer time. We will pass along your comments to the appropriate departments regarding our in-room coffee selection, and about our breakfast in Hendricks. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future, and rest assured we will work to improve upon areas that can be improved. Regards,

This hotel could be so much better, especially for the price. On the positive side, the staff, including the concierge, Lisa, and the whole crew on the G floor are outstanding - the most friendly and helpful people. My suite was comfortable and quiet. The king size bed was firm. The air conditioner works well. The bathroom is big. The hotel location is good, near museums and Yaletown, with restaurants and boutiques nearby. The gym and the pool area are also good and, not many hotels in the city have an outdoor pool. The negatives are the extreme neglect regarding renovation and cleaning. For example, with COVID still an issue, after I checked in and stayed the first night in the hotel, I found an empty bottle of water behind the sofa and an used and dirty shirt near the bed. I did not noticed it immediately, because I arrived at 2 am and went straight to bed. To get my room cleaned daily was an ordeal. The hotel apologizes for being understaffed, but the prices were high, around CAD $5.500 for a week’s stay. If you cannot deliver the service, you should not be charging for it, The carpets and the curtains look old, dirty and shabby in the room and common areas. But by far the worse things about the Hilton Vancouver are the elevators. It is not unusual to wait 15 minutes, I am not exaggerating, to go from your floor to the lobby. I understand there is a shortage of workers in Vancouver, but some of the disappointing features of the Hilton could, in my opinion, be addressed by management that cares and is committed to providing guests with what they deserve based on their rates.

Dear LauraS327 - many thanks for your review. Although your experience is not the type of experience we strive for here at Hilton, we were pleased to see the great comments about our staff. Rest assured we will pass those comments along to the appropriate staff members. Otherwise, we will be looking into our cleaning protocols with our housekeeping team. In regards to the elevators we totally agree that this can become an issue during the busy summer season. We continue to look for ways to alleviate the long wait times. We do hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the near future.

Our stay here was outstanding. The hotel staff was polite, helpful and couldn’t be more friendly. Our room was spacious and beautifully furnished. The pool and spa on the third floor roof patio was a welcomed respite on a hot summer afternoon. We were on the 23rd floor with wonderful views of the city. The location was perfect, within easy walking distance to many sites and restaurants.

As a Hilton branded hotel charging premium rates this hotel should be better. When we checked in for 3 nights we were informed that for our safety the rooms would not be serviced unless we requested it 24 hours in advance. So we did, not that it made any difference, the room was serviced the first day, but not the next. This seems like the hotel is using covid as a way to cut its staff. As this is meant to be a premium hotel, this should be offered as an option, but full service should not be by exception. The breakfast buffet is sub standard with very few options, espresso coffee is from a machine and costs extra. As discussed by many reviewers the lifts are dreadfully slow, to the point where the hotel opened up the service lift for guests to use. Location is great, rooms are fine but the hotel needs to lift its game.

Dear unstoppabell, thanks for your review. Although your experience was not what we strive for, we appreciate your comments as we work hard to overcome various staffing issues. Please note that housekeeping service upon request is currently a Hilton standard. We do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future to show you a true Hilton Vancouver Downtown experience.

It's a nice clean hotel although the rooms are a bit dated. Only 2 elevators which were small and posed a problem at certain times of the day. Close walking distance to Yaletown, Gastown and waterfront. The Concierge, Lisa, was terrific! Gave us great advice. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating.

My wife and I stayed here for a night after our Alaska cruise. This is one of the better Hilton brand hotels we have stayed in. The room was clean and comfortable and we didn't encounter any issues. The bed comfortable and gave us a great night's sleep. We were initially concerned about the number of elevators to service the hotel (only two + a service elevator, to support over 30 floors); however, we never had to wait very long for an elevator. Restaurants and shops / stores nearby. Good breakfast in the hotel restaurant in the morning (though the waitstaff could have been a little more attentive). Definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel has checked out of the hospitality business. Pretending to be a premium brand they still don’t service rooms unless you notify them in advance which in our case was before we arrived. As a Hilton Diamond member I usually get better service but I hope I wasn’t because it was lousy. The kicker was when I went to the front desk with an issue and told I should tell someone. What???

Dear ETBrown, We appreciate your feedback. We can assure you we have not checked out. We are not pretending at all other than dealing with reality. The main reason certain services not being offered are due to shortage of staff. I am sure you have seen and heard the news affecting hotels, airlines, airports, hospitals etc. The staff is just not available. We would love to offer full range of services to our guests but are unable to do so. We are and have been looking on every avenue possible. We pay competitive wages to all our staff. The team is working very hard with limited resources. We have displayed our apology in public looking for some patience and understanding. We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. Our sincere apologies. Sincerely, Pradeep Puri
