Sad that this Hotel will be closing in Oct of this yr. I have loved staying here the last 15 yrs. Perfect west end stay. Easy access to Stanley Park, Granville Island. I have many memorable stays here. Will miss it.

Great value for your money. Rooms are decent and clean. It was nice to have a kitchen. Beds are comfortable! Room service was fast accurate and delicious. Coffee maker and complimentary coffee and tea in the room. The location is not quite downtown but close enough. The neighbourhood is nice and quiet and close to Stanley Park and English Bay...

The location of the hotel is very good. It is 2 block away from the English Bay Beach, and close to the Stanley Park. There are many shops under the building, include a local supermark. There are many cafes and restaurants on each side of the road. It is very convenience.

The Coast Plaza is within walking distance to so much of downtown Vancouver. There is easy access to Stanley Park, and to any number of restaurants appealing to any taste. It is transit distance from other downtown attractions, such as Science World - or even the sports arenas/stadiums. The underground parking is very convenient as well.

It was a our 2nd stay here. Even though the hotel is dated with its fixtures, for those that don't mind this topped with a good price to be in a great location this is the place for you. We stayed here for NYE as opposed to trying to find a cab later in the night. Check-in (which was around...

When I'm on business or leisure travel, the first thing I look for in a hotel is welcoming staff. The Coast Plaza staff are friendly, helpful and informative. Checking in went smoothly. Our room was comfortable, well appointed and clean. The view was dreamy. We'll definitely stay here again, and again.

The Coast has done a good job making the old Denman Place hotel into a nice place to stay. Only big complaint was WiFi was terrible on the 30th floor, couldn't connect any of our devices. Also elevators were quite slow but what do you expect with a building of that age? Apparently will be converting to rental building later...

While the room was slightly dated the price was right, very clean, great location, fantastic view. I was guest of the day and got an upgrade to a very large suite (normal rooms are quite big too). Great value.

The room was very clean an comfortable. We will stay here again as it was very convenient. The guest services staff were outgoing and very professional. A great place to stay in downtown Vancouver. The closeness to Stanley Park was a great positive.

Came up with a really great rate and 3.5 stars on Priceline. So I figured why not. Now I know. It's not that the place is a dump, it's just that it's worn out in desperate need of a gut renovation. For $20 more per night I could have gotten a 4 star. This is no 3.5 star. More like...

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.

“My tip: Ask the concierge for porcelain cups, a kettle, spoons (and tea!) for your room. My group noticed that some suites had great kitchens. Yay. I enjoyed that I had a table to do work in my room. Whoops - the internet was weak. But overall, had a fantastic stay.”
