I travelled to Vancouver on a very busy and expensive weekend. This hotel came up on my booking site at a much cheaper rate than other hotels so I reserved it, with a view to cancelling if I needed to after reading the reviews. Some of the reviews were very unfavourable, but when I went to cancel, I found the rate I had booked was not refundable. This turned out to be a good thing. I had a huge room, with fully equipped kitchen and and bathroom with a full sized bath. I didn't have much of a view but plenty of windows and light. Staff were fabulous and very accommodating. As many reviewers have said, it is an older building, but that was part of the charm. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect. I'm so glad I stayed here and would definitely do so again.

The gentleman at the desk SHIVAM was so helpful and informative! It was a nice welcome to the hotel, and we were so happy because the hotel we had previously stayed at in Vancouver was so underwhelming it was a nice change! Thank you for the friendly service and hotel is clean as well, a plus for me! Worth it thank you!

Service was terrible, last minute was told that there is a 39.00 charge to park my car in an outdoor unsecured parking lot. I was also charged a 250.00 deposit on my credit card. The bathroom was dirty. My bed a big lump right down the middle of it. It was really noisy, party noise at night and construction early in the morning.

Rooms were not as shown in the pictures. The elevator was broken forcing us to lug our luggage up and down the stairs both times. Walls are thin, you can hear neighbors, people on the street, and construction outside. They charge a fee to store your luggage after checkout, a service that is free in every other hotel I've been to. When I asked for compensation for the broken elevator they said the best they could do is offer a discount the next time we stayed at the hotel. It's absurd that they thought I would stay there again...

Unfortunately the photos and write up were completely inaccurate. Our room was very shabby and run down, but more concerning was the fact it was very unclean. The floor especially didn’t look like it had been mopped for some time. When we flagged this to reception on the first morning, nothing was done. We were met with indifference again when we mentioned it upon checking out. We only stayed because it was too late to find something else in the area on a busy weekend. Our room also had a random hole in the wall which was covered by an odd false cupboard door. That was definitely not in the listing photos! We know Vancouver is pricey but this did not feel at all like value for money and not at all restful because everything felt grubby. Spend a bit more and go somewhere sanitary.
