A quiet gem in downtown Vancouver. Strong and stable wifi, plenty of restaurants and nightspots within walking distance, Skytrain is only a 3 minute walk away. They just started a simple free breakfast during my stay that isn't advertised yet, so that's cool. Neighbourhood is a little sketchy at night, but not a problem as long as you are vigilant...

Nice and clean hostel downtown Vancouver. Free Wifi was working great. It has good cafes around and skytrain station is 3 minutes away. I would recommend it. Lady at the desk was really nice and helpfull.

Each time someone was passing by at night we woke up. There was somebody talking loud on the hallway and the other person was shouting from the other side. I saw rats outside in the yard from the window the size of squirrels. Washroom not clean showers not clean. On the hallway was a bad smell all the time.

The rooms were not the best but did the job they were clean and for the money I was happy. Free wifi was also great worked well even allowed me to make international calls over Facebook. The location was ideal couldn't ask for a better location, top staff as well.

This is nice and clean hotel/hostel with good location, not far from anything. Rooms are small but nice, shared washroom and showers perfectly clean. There is no lift and steep stairs up to the rooms so it is probably not suitable for older people.

DEFINITELY is not for older people. Steep stairs just to get to the lobby. Beds only have mattress. Husband tried bed and knew he would not be able to sleep. Had to check out and they were not nice. Would not give us any part of our money back. Would not recommend.

Booked accommodation last min, the hotels were overpriced so this seemed like a good option. Turned out to be better than expected! It was very clean, staff really friendly and it was perfectly located - walking distance to all the major spots.

This is a very reasonably priced option for accommodation in downtown Vancouver. Really, it is a hostel, not a hotel. (I knew this before I stayed). Shared bathroom, no check-ins after 7:00PM during "off season." Front end staff was friendly. The place is clean & safe. We were on the top floor, private room with two twin beds, on a...

The location for the hostel is GREAT- super close to food and the subway stations. There are basic cooking facilities for those who are staying for awhile (microwave and a fridge). The staff were always friendly and willing to help. Like all hostels, don't always expect a great nights sleep with your roommates walking in and out throughout the night....

Staying in Gastown

Neighborhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
