We stayed at L'Hermitage as a family for the second time after 5 years. (Fortunately) little has changed. Still very well maintained, and since it is not part of one of the huge hotel chains, it is still quiet and unhurried, which you can always enjoy in a big city at the end of a strenuous day of sightseeing. Heated outdoor pool and whirlpool well maintained and active. Well-equipped, air-conditioned fitness room. - Unfortunately, during the COVID pandemic, the breakfast buffet, which was great at the time, was disbanded and replaced by table service... which was also good, but we would have been more excited about the buffet. - Cars can be parked in an underground car park below the hotel for a fee (entrance around 2 corners, a bit confusing - slight lack of comfort). - New for us was a terrace with a table tennis table and (hotel) bicycles that you can rent. - Tip: Please note that (even if it seems that way in the pictures on the homepage and the relevant booking sites) not all rooms have a balcony! ... if this is important to you, you should contact the hotel directly beforehand. Unfortunately, despite asking on site, we had no chance of getting our suites with a balcony, which is a real shame in August! ... Despite these small negative points, we were (again) impressed by the hotel, its ideal location (you can reach almost everything in the city center on foot from here), its friendly staff and its atmosphere and can only give it 5 points. We will definitely come back.

I did a lot of research as to where to stay for four nights in Vancouver and this hotel had excellent reviews. We were not disappointed with our choice. The hotel does not have a lot of rooms l suppose you could call it a boutique hotel. We travelled into Vancouver from the airport on the Sky Train and the hotel is about a five minute walk from a nearby stop. Our room was a good size for a standard room and the bathroom was large with a shower and a bath. The toilet was separate from the main bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the room very quiet. We were a two minute walk away from the breakfast room which was was accessed by stairs a short distance down the hall. The breakfast room was lovely! Not your typical breakfast room! Due to the hotels size the breakfast room was like a lovely lounge area with dining tables and access to the patio area. It was serene! The breakfast was superb with an absolutely excellent fruit salad. It was really good value too. The service was also excellent. The pool area is lovely and the pool although not large was very warm and great for swimming lengths. The location of the hotel is also excellent, we basically walked everywhere and felt totally safe. (we did not walk into the Gastown or Chinatown areas, just used the hop on hop off bus) The hotel has bikes which you can borrow and there are lots of cycle paths in Vancouver. The staff on the front desk were superb they answered our queries and helped us make bookings. I have to say l cannot think of a single negative thing to say about this hotel it was superb and the price point was not extortionate. You will not be disappointed if you chose to stay here, it has a serenity all of its own making.

Having never been to Vancouver before, we chose this hotel because it offered a one bedroom suite at the same price as a standard room in other hotels. I must admit I was sceptical when I booked because it did seem 'too good to be true'.
When we arrived our concerns were absolutely gone. The welcome at the front desk was perfect - very friendly and accomodating when we encountered issues with our credit card (our fault, not the hotel's).
When we walked into our corner suite, we were amazed. It was perfect - spacious, clean, beautiful furniture and perfect location. The bedroom was very big, the king bed was great, the lounge room was very comfortable and the bathroom was well lit and the walk-shower was fantastic.
I used the gym and steam room every day. The gym was big for a hotel like this and the equipment was clean and in great condition. Fresh towels were always available.
We had room service a few times which was very nice.
No charge to borrow umbrellas from reception and only a small fee to park our rental car for a few nights (in the basement of the hotel).
We will be staying here again on our next visit. I won't even look at other hotels.

Excellent boutique hotel! My family booked a 1 bedroom suite and the room was clean and spacious! The bathroom is elegant with a separate bathtub with pull out hose (so easy to wash my 4 year old!) Staff were attentive and caring. Location was perfect central in downtown with a market and coffee shops steps away. There is small lap pool and jacuzzi with very little sun (the building blocks the sunlight) but that did not deter our little ones from getting in! Would return here the next time we travel to Vancouver.

Loved my stay at L'Hermitage! The staff was very kind and helpful.

I parked my car in the lot and was allowed to keep it in the lot a few hours after check-out (until 4pm when the next guests were checking in). This was a huge perk because it gave me four extra hours to explore the city.

The location is great! I enjoyed wandering around the city on foot and walked all over downtown. Maybe my favorite part was taking the hotel bike out to Stanley Park. The city is nicely bikeable with clear bike lanes. There's a beautiful bike path that goes to the Seawall and around the whole Stanley Park - this was a highlight of my trip! It's very beautiful with nice parks and views of the water (and mountains if the weather is right). One thing to keep in mind is that they only have two bikes, so you may be out of luck if another guest gets to them first (though there is a 4-hr time limit).

I enjoyed a dip in the outdoor hot tub on a cool night in January. The room also had a nice single-person bathtub. Bed was comfortable and room was nicely styled.

I would definitely stay again

Thank you for your glowing review! We’re delighted to hear that you had such a wonderful stay at L’Hermitage and that our team made you feel welcome and well taken care of. We’re so glad you could take advantage of the extended parking time to explore more of the city—Vancouver is such a walkable and bike-friendly place! It’s great to hear that your ride to Stanley Park was a highlight of your trip; the Seawall truly offers some of the most breathtaking views in the city. It’s also wonderful to know you enjoyed our outdoor hot tub, cozy bathtub, and stylish, comfortable room. We appreciate your feedback about the bikes and will continue to do our best to accommodate all our guests. We can’t wait to welcome you back for another fantastic stay! Best regards,

The whole experience was wonderful, starting with an upgraded room upon check in on a Monday. We were in a corner room which gave lots of natural light and great street watching. King sized bed and sofa bed were both very comfortable, great shower, appreciated having the small fridge and sink and Nespresso machine. Outdoor heated pool and hot tub were fantastic, as was the gym. Breakfast was delicious in the cozy restaurant. Room service was prompt. Secure underground parking for a fee very convenient. Short walk to BC Place for an event, great grocery store right under the hotel, Starbucks and many restaurants near by. Great location! Staff all were very gracious and helpful.
Would definitely go back.

Hotel employees ALL were very helpful, professional, and friendly. Our room was clean, large,
and comfortable. And the dining room dinners near our 5th floor room were excellent. Both the check-in and check out process was easy and fast, and the bell-hops both on our arrival and departure were A+++.

We had a lovely stay at L’Hermitage. The room was well appointed, and it was evident they have high standards for sanitizing items to help prevent the spread of covid. We ate breakfast in the lounge one morning and it was delicious. Staff were all professional and friendly. It is in a great location to tour all the downtown areas with most being in walking distance. We will definitely be back next time we are in Vancouver.

We had a great experience! First off, the hotel lobby always smells wonderful and the staff were always kind and helpful. It’s nice that only floors 5 to 7 are the hotel floors, you never have to wait long for an elevator. We had a room on the 5th floor, which is also where all the amenities are located. It was great to be close to all of this, and we never found it noisy in the hallways. The room was clean and you can tell they sanitized high touch items such as converters. The hotel had free wifi, was centrally located, and price of parking per night was reasonable ($25/night). I would definitely recommend staying here and I would go back!

This hotel is so beautiful and close to everything you need in Vancouver. If you’re staying for a layover or short stay this place is super close walking distance to all the best Vancouver attractions and doesn’t compromise that central location for anything. The hotel is really clean, the rooms are beatifully presented and the beds are really comfortable. You have everything you need and the staff are really kind and helpful. It was a bit over my budget but I’m glad I spent a bit more to stay somewhere that helped me relax after 24 hours of flying from Australia and made it easy for me to enjoy the short time I had in Vancouver on my way to Toronto. I’m staying here on my way back home too and I’m so glad I booked the same hotel for my return journey. I could have stayed closer to the airport and saved the taxi fare but I’d much rather stay here and enjoy my last night of my holiday because L’Hermitage makes it worth it. 100% reccommend for solo travelers or couples if you just want to relax and stay in a hotel that is worth the price and lives up to its star rating. Big showers, big bath tubs and big comfy warm beds - everything you need before and after a longhaul flight. I can’t think of anything that let me down, I loved everything about this stay.

Well it was certainly open a few weeks ago and I saw two people in so suspected it was heated BUT I would suggest you check with the hotel who were most helpful with all our questions. We think it is an excellent hotel and last month it was our second visit.
