I left an expensive pair of jean in a drawer in Cabin 53, I called the very next day to tell the staff where I had left the pants. I thought I would get the pants back because I knew where I had left them. They wouldn't contact the people who had just occupied the cabin. There was no follow up and a general lack of respect to me... They wouldn't let me talk to a manager. i know they could have helped, but they didn't want to. The only thing I could figure was that they may have a thief on staff.
We just spent 4 nights here and enjoyed the location as it is right on the cliffs above the beach and very close to town. Breakfast is adequate but gets a bit repetitive after 2 or 3 days. Staff was friendly and always available to answer any questions. Room on the second floor was okay but furniture is dated and floor gets pretty sandy when you are out and about every day and no cleaning being done.
My wife and I attended the wedding of our Son and Daughter-in-Law recently. The very resort where we in fact got engaged 4 years ago. We were excited to be back to both relive our past experiences and gain new ones. The result was that after a stay of 4 nights at the MBL, in one of their Premier Cabins, we have made the commitment to never again stay at this resort. Understanding the restrictions now in place for all resorts due to Covid, we were not only disappointed in the run down look and feel of the Cabin that we were assigned, and the Common Buildings in general, but as well the general lack of professionalism and care exhibited by the staff and management. Normally, we do not bother with a followup on our past experiences with other hotels and resorts, but in light of the fact that we were charged $500.00 per night for an experience shameful in all aspects, we felt it our right to complain to MBL management. Upon returning from our stay, my wife submitted a letter to the MBL management outlining the items that we felt contributed to our negative experience and requesting at least a response, if not compensation. A few of the items identified; Broken bottom lock on patio door. Unable to secure our belongings Track lighting in main room not working. Inadequate lighting Bathtub drain not draining. Hair and debris clogging the drain No screens on windows. Mosquitos a nuisance at night Blind in living room broken Floor lamp in living room non-functional Chairs on deck need painting Deck floor not properly swept and rotted in places. Mismatched chairs at dining table. Towels were worn No bathrobes Hot Tub Cover broken Wood around hot tub rotting and full of tree debris. Staff unfriendly and disinterested - breakfast items placed carelessly on counter, spilling coffee and juice. When asking about dinner no offer to assist was made when there were no reservations on site. Staff not wearing Covid masks Staff at front desk not cheerful or welcoming. Seemed bothered when we came to ask questions. This letter was 4 weeks receiving a response and the general attitude was that we were in fact mistaken and at fault. This was an expensive mistake that we not only will never repeat, but in placing this review, hope that our experience will save others from wasting their money and time at this resort. Stay away. There are many other quality Tofino area resorts to experience.…
Great location at north end of Mackenzie Bay. Top floor unit with one bedroom plus loft was comfortable for two couples. The kitchenette was small but adequate. We called ahead and booked a set dinner at the onsite dining room. Cannot think of another breakfast room with such a view of the wild west coast.
Room was clean and comfortable, great view of the ocean. Next time try to get a suite or cottage for extra room and space. Breakfast was a little sparse but the coffee was great. Best beach in Tofino - perfect for SUP and chilling
