Wickaninnish Inn, a Relais & Chateaux property since 1997, overlooks the Pacific Ocean from a rocky point on Vancouver Island’s rugged west coast, near the eclectic town of Tofino and Pacific Rim National Park. Two contemporary cedar buildings, set against a backdrop of ancient rainforest, boast an extensive local art collection (complemented by the neighbouring wood carving shed), and all rooms and suites offer ocean or beach views, gas fireplace, soaker tub and individual balcony. Uncompromising service, including a Clefs d’Or Concierge team, is a standard. The sole resort on Chesterman Beach, Tofino’s longest at 2.5km/1.5mi, the Inn is home to refined West Coast cuisine at The Pointe Restaurant and naturally-inspired treatments at its intimate Ancient Cedars Spa. Tofino’s McDiarmid family welcomes you to this locally owned, world renowned sanctuary offering Rustic Elegance on Nature’s Edge.

Sublime. A magical mixture of splendour and quality, with rustic and natural charm; set against the sensational panoramic backdrop of a surfers' beach - Chesterman Beach. The food was delectable and the staff were friendly and unpretentious. The ladies' toilet is worth a visit too! A terrific treat for all six of us who were visiting on holiday. Alison and Ewan, Scottish Highlands.

I tired to get here many, many years ago and well things got in the way. Finally retired, I treated myself to a personal retreat/time & space here. The resort and views of the ocean are totally awesome. As the Big Sur junkie, I was awed. I stayed in the Pointe house with a west view which is "to die for". The services and staff were awesome. Had a great massage from Themis. Storms came in and the weather appropriate clothes and boots were needed and appreciated. Yes, "in the true West Coast, there is no bad weather, just bad clothing choices " One afternoon, I watched the storm come in from the restaurant for a late lunch. The row of massive waves was really a treat! The surfing break is great. Waves and rocks are all magical. Enjoyed the carving hut. This is one of the great places to appreciate. Love the back story. Hope to be back.

This review will focus mainly on our wedding venue (ceremony and reception) on July 27 this summer. Danielle and Megan (our wedding coordinators) were nothing short of incredible! Thank you girls so much for everything you did for us on our special day... I mean... Danielle even hopped in her personal vehicle and drove me the keys we forgot when we were late for the ceremony! Then she saved the day by finding our rings and keeping me (the bride) calm. The cooks and head chef on shell beach were amazing as well and the food was delicious. We had hoped that our guests would be alerted of the vegan options that we paid extra for but unfortunately they missed out. One small complaint to note if you’re booking your wedding here is all the little fees involved that you wouldn’t find elsewhere but HEY, it’s Tofino! Our wedding was truly magical... it was everything the little girl inside could have ever dreamed of. It was perfection. It was picturesque and organic. Thank you to all of the staff. Your hard work is so appreciated.

Thsi is a wonderfull place to resource... The room is very comfortable and beautifully decorated... The view on the Ocean is splendid. One can contemplate the scenary for hours whilst the Sun and clouds will take care of a constantly changing luminosity. The whole hotel gives an atmosphere of peace and rest. The kindness of the attentionate staff tops it off and makes the stay an unforgetable 'intermezzo" in our so busy lives ! The "a la carte" Breakfast is good, and we found the restaurant quite good and trendy as a "star restaurant" would be ....
