We've stayed at Pacific Sands for the last 10 years and always received excellent service from all the staff and greatly appreciate the Dog friendly units, the proximal y of the beach, and all that Tofino has to offer
We payed 1,000 for 2 night in ocean front suites. The living room was average with a pull out couch and a TV with limited cable vision. Furnishings were a knock off of live edge design with poor finishing's, but still nice. Kitchen had propane stove top, a small kitchen with limited supplies. Bedroom was average size with king soft comfortable bed and nice white linins. Bathroom was average and everything worked but no extra's. Their was a view to the ocean & outdoor space was good as very short walk from room to Cox Bay Beach and they had the outdoor propane firepits going. Large groups tend to hog these areas and take chairs from other fire pits, so you might wanna bring a fold up chair with you. Unfortunately, this took away from our chance to spend time at the fire pits. We went when a rugby team were also staying at the resort and no staff monitoring the large spaces they were occupying which also included the picnic table just outside our front patio. Not the greatest experience Iv had, expecially for the price, but overall average with good beach access.…
Wonderful wide beach, great views from most rooms, spotless one bedroom suite, boardwalk through rainforest on property, fire pits & barbecues, massage on site, take out cafe, fine dining at resort next door, friendly efficient staff…what’s not to love about Pacific Sands Beach resort? We are booked for next year again. Best rates are in spring and fall.
The staff are terrific at this resort, it really made our stay that much better. The option to BBQ right out front of our rooms overlooking the beautiful ocean was serene. Grateful to have the opportunity to bring our dog with us as well. Highly recommend.
I had a group of campers that was caught in a massive storm and we needed a dry and warm place to stay after a wet and cold night. With almost no notice the Pacific Sands staff made it work for us to stay at their resort.
Units are great regarding the views and amenities, but the furniture and beds are tired and in need of replacement. For what it cost to stay here I would have expected better. If this is corrected I'll be back.
We had an absolutely unbelievable time staying at Pacific Sands. All the staff were exceedingly friendly, the food was great, and the beach was mesmerizing to not only stare at from our room, but walk every morning and night.
This is a great resort. All the little touches really add up - lovely bath products, surf board and wet suit rentals right on site, amazingly beautiful beach steps from your room, dvd rentals and coffee/tea in the reception area. Beds were very comfortable. If you want to go out for dinner in town, you do likely need to drive there, but it’s a small inconvenience and definitely worth it to be right on Cox bay.
Beautiful condo like room on the beach. Complimentary wine and chocolates. Gorgeous beach but it is not ideal for surfing as it is dangerous. Surf sisters on site can take you to a nearby safer beach.
a close friend of mine got married in Tofino and most of the wedding party stayed here. I stayed at the Cox Bay Resort next door, great folks there btw, to save a few bucks. I road my motorcycle out from Vancouver for the wedding. It was a long , beautiful , but tiring ride and got there before anyone else in the wedding party. I went to check if anyone else had arrived and the nice gentlemen at the check in said no, but seeing I was pretty tired and even though I wasn't staying there offered to let me wait in their common room until the wedding party checked in. I sat on a couch there and pulled out a book I had with me. A white couple in their early 30's walked in with their two children and I smiled and nodded. The man smiled back and whispered to his family and they walked out. A few minute later one of the Pacific Sands employees walked in and said I couldn't sleep there and I had to leave. I told him I wasn't sleeping, I was reading and I was told I could wait here. He refused to acknowledge that, so I left. I walked up to the front desk and told the same employee that told me I would wait there what just happened, he apologized and said there was nothing he could do but said I could wait on the bench by the parking lot for the wedding party. I did just that, until another employee came by and said I have to move on and can't sleep on the bench. I was sitting on the bench with my helmet in my lap. At that point I didn't even bother to fight it and went over to Cox Bay and told them the story. They were horrified and offered me an early check in. As a person of colour, I would not recommend the Pacific Sands Beach Resort.…
