Guests have called out the friendly and efficient service, alongside the hotel's commendable amenities such as the scenic fire pits and on-site dining.

We recently held our strategic planning retreat at Pacific Sands, and it was an unforgettable experience that truly energized our team! The location itself, overlooking the stunning Pacific Ocean, set the perfect tone for our group. The space was designed to impress, with comfortable seating by cozy fires, large windows that invited in the view, a spacious kitchen and dining table ideal for group discussions, and a fantastic outdoor deck where we could enjoy the fresh sea air while taking in the ocean vista.
The onsite amenities and food were wonderful. We loved having breakfast and lunches catered by Surfside Grill and the Beach Shack, which offered delicious options that kept our group fueled and happy. A few members of our team stayed overnight, and they reported that their rooms were extremely comfortable—everything was designed for relaxation after a productive day.
Most importantly, the staff at Pacific Sands went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed to make our retreat a success. They were incredibly attentive, ensuring we had the best environment to come together, focus, and make key decisions for our organization.
Overall, Pacific Sands was the perfect choice for our retreat, and we left feeling inspired and rejuvenated. Highly recommended for any group or organization seeking a scenic, well-equipped, and supportive space for important work!

This was our third stay at Pacific Sands over recent years and all was wonderful again. The resort has a perfect location on the Cox Bay Beach, with spacious, always clean grounds, very comfortable self-contained accommodation, easy parking and great services and facilities. Also a great location to get around other parts of Tofino. Above all, the staff are always friendly, fun and helpful, making the stay even more enjoyable. Our first choice in Tofino and looking forward to our next visit!

This is a beautiful upscale lodge on the ocean. I would call it glamping. This was my 1st time to Tofino. Our beach front room was very nice and quite with beautiful views of the ocean. I loved the hotel and the area. For the price one pays during the summer I would think a credit toward breakfast each morning would be a nice idea or a free bottle of water in the room each day. We came from another hotel in the okanagan which was a little less expensive than this one and they included breakfast each morning. Not the end of the world as we enjoyed the baked goods and the coffee each morning at the beach hut. In the guest area when you check in the hotel offers guests free coffee and hot chocolate but the coffee is better at the beach hut. Staff were helpful and gave us great suggestions for biking, hiking and restaurants in the area. Highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for an upscale glamping experience. Lastly, nice touch to give us the cookies and marsh mellows so that one can make smores on the outdoor fire pits.

Dear WGG1962, Thank you for your kind words. We're truly pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay and the onsite amenities. Your feedback, especially about the baked goods and the coffee at the Beach Shack Cafe, warms our hearts. We take pride in our commitment to the environment, which is why we avoid single-use plastics in our rooms, including water bottles. We're always searching for sustainable alternatives to enhance our guests' experiences without compromising our planet's well-being. To clarify further, while we deeply appreciate the allure and charm of glamping accommodations such as tents, tipis, caravans, treehouses, pods, tiny homes, and cabins, we do not offer such options at our resort. Instead, we are an all-suite resort where each suite boasts a full kitchen and private wash chamber, providing our guests with both luxury and convenience. Thank you once again for your lovely review. We look forward to welcoming you back, should your travels bring you our way in the future.

We love Pacific Sands. In my opinion it's the best beachfront resort in Tofino. We eloped here in 2020 and always knew we wanted to return. We live on the island so we took advantage of the Local PNW room rates and off season availability and took a quick trip in February. We took our senior dog as she loves Tofino (dog heaven) and we wanted to make sure she saw Cox Bay Beach one more time. The team at Pacific Sands made sure our dog had a ground level suite and everything we could possibly need. We never want to leave and my husband suggested a 'crying lounge' for the morning you have to leave ha ha. We will be back again and again!

Beautiful views of the ocean from the rooms but the hotel includes absolutely no amenities in their expensive rates. No hot tubs after a quick dip in the ocean and the saunas they feature on website are a significant extra cost and must be booked well in advance. All of the activities listed on in room schedules also must be bought in advance with cancellation or no show fees for anyone wanting to sleep in on vacation. The drink options at all of the bars on site are also terrible.

Dear Jrhjus, Thank you for your feedback! We're delighted you enjoyed the beautiful ocean views and our convenient beachside location. We’re proud to support 6 local small businesses on-site that offer wellness, adventure, and food services. While we don’t manage their pricing, we’ll pass your feedback along. All businesses are clearly noted on our website. We also offer complimentary amenities like beachfront fire pits, hammocks, beach toys, chairs, lawn games, and DVD rentals for your enjoyment. For a more luxurious experience, our signature and hot tub suites feature private hot tubs. We appreciate your comments and hope to welcome you back!

We rented a dog friendly ocean view one bedroom suite. It was very comfortable; the kitchen was small (as usual in these rooms) but fully equipped. Housekeeping was friendly and efficient; anytime we requested something for the room is was provided promptly. Dog was welcomed. We were on the 3rd floor but someone was there as we were unloading the car and he carried everything up for us without blinking an eye. No elevator but that was okay. The staff was super. The beds were comfortable, even the fold out couch. Absolutely no complaints, except that one busy day (long weekend) the garbage cans by the beach were overflowing.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The rooms were clean, larger than expected, and the full kitchen was very nice to cook our own meals. The private beach access for guests was fantastic because the beach was STUNNING! We would definitely return and stay here again. Pricing was good for the amenities, location, and room - especially during storm season

we paid for a storm watching package, and we got lucky while we were there. the storm came in full force with "extreme" waves according to long beach, with approximately 14ft waves and 70km/h gusts. we saw what we paid to see. the window and door seals were good- did not hear whilstling or have any cold drafts come in with that wind, and the rain was noticeable but not too loud inside. We did not have a hot tub, but was pleasntly surprised to find a deep tub that would have any average adult comfortable to soak in it. The resort is pet friendly, and they provided food and water bowls, two towels to dry him off, and a nice soft blanket for him.

Over the years my husband has visited this property and it holds a special place in his heart. He was very happy to return this month to relive some memories. This location is 6/5 stars for sure. The resort itself lacks a restaurant but does have a take out shack for quick bites. The rooms are rather simple but clean and again when you walk out your first floor onto the patio you're right on the ocean and there is something special about that. We will be back to stay here but only on the off season as their rates have escalated to 5 star resort prices!

Not having visited Tofino before or knowing where to stay, my research led me to Pacific Sands Beach Resort, and I am so glad it did. Even though the resort was around a 10 minute drive into the town itself, other than grabbing some necessities and completing our bear tour, we stayed at the resort. The resort offers varying types of accommodation and I booked a 1 bedroom beachfront suite. The view from the room was lovely, providing unobstructed views of Cox Bay. The resort has many handy facilities including the Surfshack (surfboard rentals & lessons), Beach Shack (cafe), Surfside Grill, bike rentals and laundry. We did spend sometime just sitting and watching the surf and views from our room, along with relaxing at the fire pits near both the Surfshack and Surfside Grill. The rooms were as advertised and very clean. I would recommend staying here if visting Tofino, it is a little expensive but I booked when the Black Friday sales were on in November. We were in room 267 on the 1st floor - there are about 12 steps to climb and no lift so if you have mobility issues ask for a ground floor room.

Hi Andrew, we are actually located on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. If you arrive at the Vancouver Airport (YVR), there are a few options to get to us. Most guests will rent a vehicle and then drive to the ferry terminal Horseshoe Bay. From there, it's a 2-hour ferry to Nanaimo, which is located on Vancouver Island. Once on the island, we are a 3-hour drive from Nanaimo.
The other option is once you've landed at the Vancouver Airport, you can do another short flight from the South Terminal to the Tofino Airport. It is about a 45-minute flight, and once at the Tofino airport, we are a 10-minute shuttle drive away.
I hope this answers your questions; please visit our website, as we have a ton of information on "getting here." Thank you!
Sincerely,
Markus McRurie
