There’s little doubt the former Vancouver Canucks defenceman who is listed as co-owner invested his unused per diems wisely in trying to spruce up the place. The renos still, however, can’t cover up the fact this can only be seen as an budget-friendly alternative to the mega-projects dotted along the ocean side of the peninsula. As such, calling this place a resort is a supreme stretch, especially when all restaurant facilities are currently closed. We had a partial ocean view room, which was aptly named, but could only be described as spartan and not at all reflective of rooms shown on the hotel website. Like, would it be too much to have even one picture on a wall perhaps? To be fair, the owner had seen to properly upgrading the furniture but that’s as far as it went. Also leaving a bad impression is their cancellation policy. We booked a three-night stay with Travelzoo that stated a two-night minimum, but when we tried to leave after the second night were told we would be charged for the entire stay. Changing the hotel policy to plainly state the two-night minimum applies only to bookings and does not allow for early check-outs would have leave us with a better impression, because we won’t be back.…

We booked a BC Ferries Vacation and stayed at the Tofino Resort and Marina. I called ahead to confirm we were booked into a pet friendly room. When we arrived, the reservation was fully organized and our room key was ready for us. The accommodation was perfect. In fact, the room was huge, included a balcony and we had a view from both sides of the unit. The rooms were extra clean, the robes were luxurious and the staff at this resort are all super friendly and helpful. Even though it is 'low season', the hotel was at capacity and I could not believe just how quiet the rooms are - not a sound. We had a fabulous vacation in Tofino that was relaxing and action packed.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! And if you have check your cc statement for fraudulent charges. The front desk staff was absolutely horrible and rude. Guy even charged a CC after we told him he didn't have permission to. Manager came out and let us cancel but extra chargers still went though. That is theft! Girl I spoke to on the phone when I called about it, didn't think it was a big issue and said I could wait the 3 or so days before a manger was in to call me back or to go ahead and waste my time and gas to come in then hung up on me when I told her I would come in and bring police with me if I had too. I had to go above her leaving messages on the GM and assistant GM Voicemail. Finally got a call back and We are waiting to see if they follow through on their word and issue the refund, if not we will be pressing charges. That girl and that guys should both be fired for their extreme disrespect for their customers. I DO NOT recommend staying here. Not worth the disrespect you receive upon arrival.…

Great location and quick 5-10min walk down to the main street of Tofino. The front desk staff were really friendly and helpful getting us set up with bikes. The room was clean enough, although it felt like some of the furniture was a bit run down (one drawer kept sliding open, bathroom door didn’t lock/close properly, etc). The best thing was waking up to beautiful views of the inlet and Lone Cone mountain!

This is the best experience I have ever had in terms of professionalism of the outfit/ cleanliness and maintenance of the boat/ experience and skill of the guide/ flexibility and kindness of the staff in the office and wonderful store full of high-end gear for sale. Our guide was Howie. He is the best I have ever had the pleasure of going out on the ocean with. Otters/ Whales/ Sea Lions/ Seals. amazing. Thankyou- I will be back!!

We arrived around 4pm and was a bit disappointed that the restaurant wasn’t open until 5 pm. Too bad, but we went for a walk and came back. We order a couple appt and had a drink. Our server was awesome! She helped us with our beverage selection and was kind, authentic and friendly. Honestly, one of the best service I have had in a while. The food was delicious. We loved the calamari! It was light, fresh and so yummy. On our ride home, we were still talking about the sauce! All in all, great experience. Thanks Naomi

My husband and I enjoyed a beautiful stay at Tofino Resort & Marina this past weekend. The best part of the trip was an incredible meal at the 1909 restaurant. Our server Dave helped us pair our wine with some amazing appetizer and entree options. The atmosphere was beautiful with the wood stove and candle lit tables. Thank you to the kitchen staff Ken, Shane and JJ for taking the food to the next level ~! We will be back :) Also appreciated the service and food from Kenz and Dom for breakfast !
