Recently spent a number of nights while n our annual fishing trip. Very clean and welcoming property. It's an older building but you can see signs of renovations especially in the bathrooms. Breakfast was good and shout out to Angela for all her efforts, caring attitude and conversation. Cheryl at the front desk is also very helpful. We did have a small issue with our bill and when Cheryl went to get Greg the Manager on duty I saw him roll his head signalling he couldn't be bothered. And not surprisingly he was not helpful. But don't let one employee stop you from staying here because it is one of the best hotels in town.

Staff are very unfriendly. Poor management. Rooms were dirty. We were afraid of bedbugs so we left our luggage on the cart, left our assigned room asap. This Prestige is an overpriced, dated, stinky and unfriendly place. Their are better places to stay in Prince Rupert.

Response from Gregg Wiwcharuck, General Manager at Prestige Prince Rupert Hotel
Responded Nov 15, 2022
Norman, Thank you for leaving your review and allowing me the opportunity to dispute some of your statements you’ve made, which are not accurate. While we certainly regret that you did not have a positive experience staying with us, it’s only fair to point out that you were asked to leave the hotel because brought a cat into your guestroom when our policies state that we are only dog-friendly, and this was clearly expressed to you at check-in. I have reviewed the situation closely, and I have determined that our staff went out of their way to find you another accommodation close by that would accept you and your cat. It’s unfortunate that our staff were not given any respect from you and your partner, and you were thus asked to leave. If you would like to discuss what accurately occurred in more detail, I encourage you to contact me at your convenience. Best regards, Gregg Wiwcharuck General Manager

We arrived at the Prestige "resort" after the ferry from Port Hardy. I had reserved 2 rooms. Somehow 1 had been cancelled. Veronica tried her best to help us find another room without much luck. The first one she sent us to had tarps over everything and was clearly under construction. The second one was supposedly an "upgrade", lol. We walked in and the tv was on, there was someone else's garbage on counters, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned, but luckily at least the bed was made. Even if it had been clean, it certainly wasn't worth what they charge for it. It had a view of the parking lot with the water to the side, which I guess was a water view. The third one was totally unmade, bed and everything. Unfortunately that was all they had so we ended up in room number 2. I asked for a hefty discount if we had to sleep there, but in the morning the manager was only going to give us $20 off the "upgraded" room. She did agree on half price after I disagreed with her take on a discount. The continental breakfast was very average as well. I know what most continental breakfasts are like and this one was a 2 out of 10. They have a captive audience with people coming from Port Hardy and heading to Haida Gwaii, but I would suggest paying a bit more for one of the other hotels, or pay less and stay across the street at Inn on the Harbour (which is where we stayed on the way back for $50/night less after cancelling the Prestige). This is no "Resort" or Prestigious as the name suggests. When I booked it the thought was; we only needed a basic room since we got in very late and left early (stopping point between Port Hardy and Haida Gwaii). I had hoped for at least a clean room though. Especially for $190/night. Many of those checking in had booked a package through BC Ferries. They weren't happy and they got clean rooms. Like I said, book into Inn on the Harbour if you want inexpensive for a few hours sleep. Book The Crest if you don't mind paying more.

Clean, friendly and totally renovated. Complimentary breakfast with T.T (Nancy) as your host makes a wonderful day ahead. The young lady on the front desk is the only complaint. She doesn’t even look at you when your talking to her. Said good morning , she keeps her head down like she’s working on the computer. My husband stood at the desk to return the key card, no acknowledgment of him whatsoever acting like she’s in the phone. so he gave her the same ignorance back with abruptly putting it in the counter and walked away. I was out of her sight and could see her computer screen, she wasn’t typing into it like she appeared to be. She just didn’t want to be bothered. Our housekeeping staff was friendlier then her and we rarely interacted with them. I doubt she’ll be employed there long, and is definitely NOT a morning person or one who should be great it guests. The young lad Kelly who worked with her was totally opposite! Good morning smiles, an acknowledgment of a head nod or smile when entering the room. She didn’t even lift her head ! Rude!!!

This place is clean and reasonably, well equipped and located right next to the airport shuttle drop-off. But not everything is perfect. Breakfast is included - they have those wonderful make your own waffle machines - yet the price is the same whether there are one or two guests. Worse yet, on my second morning when I decided to have some cereal, they were out of milk and told me to use the 18% cream. There is a Tim Hortons next door; they could have bought some milk. Checkout time is 11am, and someone phoned at precisely 11 to tell me that it was time to leave. I was abut to leave anyway. So I did not feel all that welcome....

We got a room, for 3 nights with our small dog, paid extra $30 a night. They gave us a room looking at a horrible looking rooftop, full of stuff. The room smells and looks out of the 80s. When I mentioned all this to the reception, they said nobody has a better pet room in town. Need Gordon Ramsey.

Dear Mihalym2017, We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your guest room. Our property has specified pet rooms as many guests are sensitive to the sounds and smells of dogs. The location of these rooms has been chosen to limit the amount of interaction with other guests and guests with dogs. We highly recommend reaching out to properties prior to arrival when traveling with pets, this will give you the opportunity to confirm your requests and a have better understanding of the hotel policies. Best Regards, Ashley Daigle General Manager

This hotel is very nice, the rooms are updated, and the continental breakfast was really good. Literally the only thing that sucked is the cable tv. It was pretty horrible, and for the price i expected more. If youre there to sightsee and be outdoors then its not a huge deal because you wont spend lots of time in the room. But i was there for work so i would have liked better selecrion. Overall i would definitely recommend this hotel

Dear zacharyniedjalski, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we appreciate your feedback. Prince Rupert has a limited selection of cable channels as there is only one company that operates in our town. Our internet offerings have been expanded in thought that many guests are using their own streaming services to watch content. We hope to serve you again! Best Regards, Ashley Daigle General Manager

Very clean spacious room with two queen beds. there was a partial Oceanview. The inclusion of breakfast was a bonus. After my stay I understood that this property was part of chain of province wide hotels. I would like to stay at their other properties in future. The desk staff Michael was nice and courteous he tried to accommodate early check in but there were no ready rooms
