The facilities, food and hostess and host are all first rate. A very happy introduction to Canada. The setting is beautiful and the Breakfast is outstanding. I am very confident to recommend Dockside to anyone visiting Nanaimo.

Great stay. Wonderful owners, very clean and efficient with full breakfast. Right on the lake with use of a canoe. Shared the two bedroom suite with our daughter and husband while touring properties to buy in the area of Nanaimo with you guessed it ...Nanaimo bars in the mini kitchens fridge for us!!

We needed a place to stay for 1 night and this fitted the bill perfectly however would also suit for a longer stay. The accommodation is under the main house so there is some noise from water, etc but did not worry us. Nice backyard area to enjoy the sunset through the trees and maybe see a beaver as we did. Breakfast the next morning was served in the upstairs dining area. Sausages, Broccoli Egg pie and croissant with jams, juice, tea, coffee and fruit. Wonderfully hosts, great accommodation and great food. What more could you want?

I stayed here 2 weeks ago as I was attending an event at Westwood Lake. This was one of the nicest B and Bs I’ve ever stayed at. It’s a private suite with the entrance at the back of the house, and is literally right on the shore of Cathers Lake, 5 min from Westwood Lake. The owners were super friendly and very flexible with check in and out times. The suite was spotless, with lovely decor, a full kitchen, private bath and bedroom. It had everything I could have hoped for, and I was even given provisions for breakfast as I had to leave too early to have their usual breakfast. I would stay there again in a second, it made the whole experience just awesome!

I absolutely loved staying at this bed and breakfast! I stayed here for two weeks while we were moving from Victoria to Nanaimo. Its more like a one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and sitting room that includes breakfasts. The place was extremely clean and well taken care of. The hosts are fantastic. They are very friendly and helpful and definitely went out of their way to make sure I had what I needed during my stay. The breakfasts are to die for and in the two weeks I was there I didn’t have the same thing twice. The home also sits on a lake and the views are beautiful and its very peaceful. I would recommend this B&B to anyone. Thank you for all you did to make me feel at home. I truly appreciated it.
