We were really pleased with our stay. Staff was helpful, check in and check out fast, room perfectly clean and with a plenty of space. The additional bonus was very comfortable bathroom with a lot of thoughtful additions like body lotion etc. The room was so comfy that we stated

We stayed there for a week in March. The motel is located near the ferry terminal and is at a walking distance from a marina and a boat launch. The basic two-bed room we had was nice, very clean and very quiet. It had a small kitchen and a living room with a table for meals. The

Stayed in this lovely motel while visiting my brother. He had his boat at Stones boatyard getting some work done on it. We were suppose to go cruising but the boat wasn’t ready. So therefore we had a wonderful overnight stay at this delightful establishment. My brother stayed on

I went on short notice due to a power outage in my Nanaimo home. They welcomed me warmly. The memorable aspect was that I was provided a very complete (fridge, micro, dishes, etc.) room even on a small scale (I had gotten their only studio). Bed was extremely comfortable, a

Dear Jeffery, Thanks for turning to us to accommodate you during that massive power outage. We are glad that you found our services and amenities accommodating, friendly, helpful, comfortable and above all, spotless. You did indeed have our smallest room, our Cozy Studio. And, like you, we think this room is well equipped with a small kitchenette, stand up shower and comfy Queen bed. It is truly great value for money and spotlessly clean! We look forward to welcoming you and your fellow Protection Island residents again, albeit in better circumstances! Thanks for the vote of confidence! Your hosts, Dave and Marlene

I stayed at the buccaneer for two weeks, and was never disappointed with the services they provided. House keeping was amazing, I always left at different times and when I came back my room was always spotless. The beds are very comfy and the pillows were great. I really like

Thanks for message Art. A few options. If you are hiring a car you could select a company with an office at the airport and drive into town. About a 20 minute drive. If you're on your own then the Nanaimo Airporter may be your best value. Believe it is $25 one way per person. Two or more and a taxi might be more cost efficient. Believe it is $40 or so one way to us. Hope that helps. Your host, Dave

Easy, yes but to get there from Nanaimo, explore for a few hours and get back is a full-day project. The distance from Nanaimo to Tofino is a bit misleading. A portion of that road is very slow, there is semi-permanent road work and a lot of traffic.

I don't think so. It is a long drive to Ucluelet and Tofino from Nanaimo. Move as soon as you arrive by ferry towards Ucluelet and book one night in Nanaimo a day before the ferry. I really recommend Buccaneer Inn for that. While driving to Ucluelet don't forget to stop at Cathedral Grove. Fantastic memories from there.

Thanks for the question Mik W and for the answer thunderingfox. Most of our accommodation are suites with seperate bedrooms. Some suites have 2 double beds in the bedroom and the others either a king or queen. All suites have comfy sofa beds in the living room / kitchen area. The kitchens offer stoves/ovens, fridges, microwaves and kitchen supplies for 4 people. Our Deluxe Fireplace Suite is a 500 square foot apartment with a full, seperate kitchen, living room with 2 sofas and a wood burning fireplace, ensuite bathroom and bedroom with king bed. All Deluxe Suites are on our second floor. We do not have an elevator. Our first floor suites include one with a queen and 3 suites with 2 beds in the bedroom. Our largest accommodation is The Chart House, our neighbouring cottage. It offers 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full lovely kitchen, living room with 2 sofas and gas fireplace and a fully fenced yard with gas BBQ and deck. Please feel free to contact us directly if you would like more information or advice. Our website offers complete details of our rooms and includes many images. We look forward to welcoming you to The Buccaneer Inn Mik W. Your hosts, Dave and Marlene

Hi Chan P. The short answer is no. There are really any crabbing near The Buccaneer Inn. You can go down to the Crabbing Pier at Maffeo Sutton Park and may have some luck there. If you are considering staying with us and would like to cook crab or seafood, please note that we do not allow any seafood or very strong smelling foods to be cooked in our rooms. We do have a seasonal BBQ area to cook seafood at but not in our rooms. Thanks for your question. Your hosts, Dave and Marlene
