Hotel Eldorado has been part of BC's destination hotel resort experience since 1926. From the beginning, it has always been a story of spectacular hospitality, social events and a welcome that knows no borders. It was then what it is today; a singularly unique social and vacation experience set in one of Canada's most spectacular destinations, the Okanagan Valley.
300 kilometres from the Lower Mainland in the BC Interior and an easy flight from all major airports. For those who have travelled from other countries, you will recognize that this place is one of the most scenic in the world. The Hotel Eldorado is as storied as our town and all those who have graced our doors since 1926. It is a hidden gem and we look forward to welcoming you to The El.
We had an awesome stay albeit very short only 1 night. Nevertheless the stay was excellent. Thank you very much to Riley for helping us take our stuff to the room! Food is also excellent great breakfast and dinner. Thank you! Will absolutely stay here again.
We stayed in the Heritage Wing and I was more than impressed. Our lakeside room had a large balcony with table and chairs, and the room was a good size and very nicely finished. I appreciated the crystal wine glasses and ice bucket as well as the antique furnishings. The view of the lake and marina was great and the activity on the dock and patio was fun to watch. We were celebrating an anniversary and I am sure we will return.
My husband and I stayed at the Eldorado Resort hotel for our 40th anniversary. The staff surprised us with a room upgrade and a complementary cake! All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Loved it!
Tobe went above and behind in helping my colleague and I with a multitude of requests throughout our stay. He was warm, engaging and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Tobe truly made our stay exceptional
Sadly, the service was terrible. Unfortunately, a lot of the staff seem to be 'holiday' students or kids that didn't really know what was going on or how to manage any customer service issues. Some staff even struggled with basic etiquette like greeting all the guests with a smile and bringing a menu to the table after we were seated. That is the bare minimum of what is expected. I wasn't able to give feedback directly to the hotel as the survey link emailed afterwards doesn't even work.
Planned a wedding at El Dorado. Started out great with our original wedding advisor. She eventually quit and the rest of our experience was awful. El Dorado didn't ask for details until the last minute which resulted in issues with multiple things, including our bar set up which ended up costing us and our guests more money than it should have. To top it off, after sending us the final bill, their managers have refused to e-mail me back regarding an explanation of the extra charges. The food was the only bright spot.
This is well located on the lake shore with a marina. The hotel Eldorado is part of the larger Eldorado Hotel complex. We arrived and difficult to park. No one at reception had to go into a nearby office to be told he will be back soon. When reception did arrive it was a slow and cumbersome process with the computers and card readers not wishing to talk to each other. Our room was a lakeland view suite, this in the extension to the original hotel. The hotel was great, large, comfortable, quiet and great views of the lake. When we went to check out the following morning little sign says hotel reception closed please go to the nearby Eldorado Resort to check out. Not really what you expect in a hotel at this price. Would we stay again, probably not.
Be aware that if you have a pet, you will NOT get the room you booked, in our case an upper floor with balcony. Their pet designated rooms are different, 2nd floor, no balconies! We were not told that upfront. When we called ahead to confirm that we would have the room we booked, we were told no, but we could upgrade to another room, 2nd floor, still no balcony, for move than $100 per night extra. The front desk person, Nav, was not at all apologetic or helpful and his tone was quite condescending. He informed us that the reservation small print stated, “depending on availability”, as though that was sufficient explanation. Take it or leave it was his attitude. We cancelled the reservation.
My wife and I just stayed here this past weekend. We were put in a room RIGHT above a wedding reception that was taking place. We were not part of this wedding. There was loud music and partying happening at least until 1am. I get this is a great location for a wedding but it would have been nice to know what were were getting into when we reserved. We hardly slept, reception was not readily available. It was meant for us to get away and relax and actually have a restful sleep. This did not happen at all. I'm very disappointed. What a waste of $600 for the night. I left a survey and was not contacted after the fact. Terrible experience and terrible customer service. I will not stay here again, plain and simple.
Never in my life have I experience such disrespect checking into a hotel. The amount of inconsistencies with this organization makes me wonder if they have someone finger painting the bookings in the back office. I called and made my reservations a week in advance, asking for an early check in willing to pay more as I had a wedding starting at 3pm. I was assured the room would be ready by 1pm. Upon arriving at 2pm to check it I was told the room was not available. ( they just clean all the rooms in the last hour). I was told I could upgrade my room for an additional 150 dollars. I figured $540 was enough to pay for a room I was only going to see after the wedding (2am till 11am). I asked if I could perform the check in requirements ( credit card for DD, blah blah) in the afternoon rather than dealing with that at 2am. Was it that was impossible as they may change my room. Would have been great if they changed my room to one available so I didn’t want to go get ready and put my suit on in a public washroom. I wasn’t going to let this ruin my weekend. I was assured there was staff on 24/7 so I wouldn’t have an issue checking in after the wedding. Came back to hotel after the wedding to wait at the desk for 37mins before staff arrived to check me in. At this time the attendant told me I was being charged a “no show fee” and I had to pay for an additional fee. Flabbergasted as I had been there earlier in the day I told him I’ll deal with that at check out as I was told there was no manager on staff. In the morning upon check out there was a note saying outstanding fee needing to be paid due to “no show”. Thankfully the morning staff recognized me from the day before, but had to get the manager to address clearing the fee. At that time I attempted to tell the manager about my experience. Rather then an apology or anything addressing I was said I was told “ we’ve had complaints about that staff member before” For the price you pay for the accommodations I would expect some professionally. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.…
