This hotel was perfect! So clean and the location is wonderful! The young lady that checked us in was so knowledgeable and friendly, can’t remember her name but a gem! Book the River view rooms, so pretty. We got a complimentary upgrade! Wish made me feel very special
I stayed with my daughters at the Signature Sandman in Kamloops while we were at a swim meet for the weekend. This hotel is right across from a lush, green and scenic park only a 5 minute drive from the beautiful Canada Games Aquatic Centre. The room was super clean and beautiful with a spacious bathroom! They even provided a white noise maker for a great night’s sleep! The staff was very friendly and accommodating, providing extra towels and plastic spoons! They hotel seemed full in the parking lot but was peaceful and calm everywhere else. We had a great stay here!
Upon deciding to get away after a busy work season alone, I chose my usual hotel in Kamloops. This used to me my favorite hotel in Kamloops and unfortunately it has been let go. There must be new management. From the broken tiles upon entry, missing carpet coming off the elevator, more broken tiles in the elevator, and electronics ripped out and holes left in the walls throughout the hotel. Check in was fine, but when I got to my room I noticed the fridge did not seem cold. I called the front desk and they asked me to check the settings of the fridge, I asked how and he said "I have no idea". They then sent a maintenance man and he said the fridge was fine for drinks. I said, "But I have food" and he just said it's fine and left. I went to Moxies for dinner and it was horribly busy and loud. As a single person they sat me at the bar, it was quite annoying. Food wasn't too good either and expensive bill. I was trying to have a peaceful vacation away. I went back to the room and had just fallen asleep when the fire alarm went off. I had so much adrenaline running through my body. I was very disoriented and went down to the front desk to see what was going on. He just said it was smoke from the kitchen, and it was an error and did not seem too apologetic. This is not the hotel's fault but it was more the attitude from the front desk that was annoying. Now pumped with adrenaline I didn't fall asleep for another 2 hours. Going up the elevator there was a "shot gun" beer on the floor from probably the gaggles of hockey teens. Also, none of their electronic security panels worked to get into the pool or up to the floors in the elevator. Pool area was dirty. As a single woman travelling alone I did not feel safe or cared for. The room also was neglected - caulking was peeling in the tub and sink area, a missing bulb and a clogged drain. Overall, a huge disappointment.…
Stayed several nights for work. Convenient for sports or concerts at the Sandman Centre across the street. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean, spacious. But noisy hotel. Room doors slam closed, staff run loud vacuums in the hall in the morning and if housekeeping staff is cleaning room next door or above, you hear it. While other reviewers have complained about trains, what was intrusive was the constant blaring of thumpy music from the attached Shark Club's external speakers out over Lorne Street even when the club was closed - incredibly started up at 5 a.m., and again at 7 a.m. on a Sunday morning. If you are going to stay here and want to sleep, ask for a room both on the river/park side to shield you somewhat from train noise, and as far away from the Shark Club as you can get. Bring earplugs or noise cancelling headphones. Sliding closet door and a dresser drawer malfunctioned. Room card scanners in elevators not operational. View of park and river obscured by filthy window. Pull-out couch had seen better days.…
The room was clean and pretty nice, only issue i had was that two one overhead light and one lamp had burnt out light bulbs. there's a very convenient restaurant (moxies) on the main level. Pulkit was very helpful and made my time in the lobby quite nice.
It would be hard to describe a worse experience. At check in they had lost my reservation, and seemed annoyed at me for this fact, despite showing them a credit card charge, booking number. The fact I had called and spoken with a front desk person the day prior to confirm seemed unimportant to them. The hotel itself and room were dated, grouting in the bathroom was dirty and missing. The bed was bottomed out. Around the hotel the floors, elevators were mostly dirty. The locks to the gym, pool, stairwells are mostly broken. It seems like a place that has not had any investment made in it since it opened. At checkout I found my car had been struck in the car park near the front entrance. The front desk seemed completely unfazed by this (I'm not sure if it happens a lot?). They did not offer to look, call the police, or help in anyway. They seemed very anxious that I leave. I'm sure that they were unconcerned that I had to stand in the blizzard outside to try and get my car drive-able for the return trip. I thought about going back in and asking for help or potentially staying the night until I could find someone to help with my car, but honestly the thought of risking my life in my car seemed preferable to staying at the Sandman Signature Kamloops. I stay in Kamloops regularly and there are lots of better options.…
Room was clean except for the windows. The plastic tiling on the base of the Jacuzzi was coming apart and one of the sliding glass doors on the closet was off it’s track. And the pool & the hot tub were being serviced. Seems to be my luck at hotels these days. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay watching the CP freights go by.
Had an awesome stay here, everything was so great! The lady that checked us in was also amazing and upgraded our room to the park side with an amazing view! The bed was super comfortable and pillows were perfect. Shower and robes were amazing. However.. there was 100% human male semen on the couch and the tv remote was placed over top of it perfectly trying to hide it… other than the semen couch 10/10! Unfortunately I didn’t get a picture of the couch but not actually that unfortunate
Hotel was ok for an overnight stay but a little dated. The bed was very comfortable but the settee was in need of being replaced. We arrived late off the Rocky Mountaineer and when we got to the room it was still being made ready for us. Just felt a little disorganised. Nothing much around the hotel. But like I say we arrived late and left early the following morning.
So I have not stayed in kamloops in some time and probably pre-Covid when I staged a this hotel but I am quite surprised how badly this hotel has gone down hill and the post Covid cleaning seems to have disappeared! I’m less worried about having caught Covid here than what else I may have been exposed to There is dirt, dust and lint everywhere. The bathroom light doesn’t work, the window is so filthy you can not see out of it. There was I I flushed toilet paper in the toilet when I got into the room and a bizarre damp smell that has dissipated over the stay as I have left the sliding door open. The marks and dents around the place are rampant. The remote didn’t work and actually had no cover on the back and when I brought it up I was given a not that I have to make sure the batteries were all the way in. In the stairs hallway vs using the elevator had a stack of room service dishes with mold growing and were present on check in And still there 3 days later. And it smells as left out food for longer than three days is know to have. Wallpaper is peeling in the room. And the tv has gross finger prints all over it. When opened this place was off the hook but over time I started seeing the effects of time and wear that caused me to go to the delta hotel kamloops. And due to that being booked I thought I would come back and see. Very disappointing and the shark club seems to have dropped its standards even more than one could imagine. I expected more based on the rate and the previous quality they once had here. I’ll never understand why managers and owners of hotels do a regular walk through, stay on the rooms to see what it’s like and what needs to be fixed. Not sure if the pictures do it justice but I rarely complain or bring up issues but thought I would share. Sad that Rocky Mountain Trains use this place as it’s not a great representation of Kamloops or Canada…
