Last week we called got their last room was so happy and tired of camping. We arrived, checked in to 218 all went smooth. Then while I went to do my usual check of bugs I found a chunk of toast on the floor, then as the mattress was moved there was more. So I continued in my way checking and all along the headboard between the mattress and box spring was all kinds of debris. I marched down to the office to ask for the room to be cleaned properly along with my pictures of it all! The gentleman didn’t have cleaning staff as it was the long weekend but he grabbed the vacuum after I asked if he had one 🙄and I’d do it myself! He came up, I helped clean it because the vacuum didn’t have a single nozzle to suck only floor brush. Anyways I asked for some form of compensation but the owner wasn’t avail until the next morning after the time we were leaving. Then I emailed while we were on the road with the photos again. The response I got was unfortunately the owner is out of town and would get back to me next week. I’m still waiting. I find it odd that the gentleman who checked us in basically lives there and couldn’t do anything for us?! I just can’t believe that they haven’t even taken the time to talk to me about the incident. Won’t stay there again even if it was a cute room…
The motel is very old, smelly and quite rundown. The stairs have many cigarette burns. The air conditioner was very noisy. When we got up in the morning there was a "dumpster diver" sorting garbage. The breakfast consisted of half a muffin, an apple and a yogurt. We were told to take our food back to our room.
If I can give minus stars I would. The room was filthy dirty and everything was covered in dust, we brought the issue to front desk, and asked nicely that we will stay for the night since it’s late but I don’t want to stay any longer so I want refund for the rest of the nights. Not only she refused to give us refund she then told us it’s not their responsibility to clean the dust? And she told us to call booking. Com for refund and when I call booking. Com they told me the property refused to refund. 2 people in our party had allergic reactions after 20th in the room. Coughing and itchy red bumps!! It was horrible, definitely reporting them to heath authorities! We had to leave on the same night of check in to a different hotel, the condition was so bad that we couldn’t even breath properly. Stay away from this dump! Bad bad bad…
Friendly, welcoming hostess, very accommodating. Happy to have a ground floor room, fridge, microwave, hot shower and quiet night although close to the highway. Very much appreciated the bagged "breakfast to go"...
Nice clean pet friendly motel. Pet fees were low and no hassles about size of dogs and a more than reasonable rate for the stay. Comfortable bed and everything you need in the room. Pleasant friendly staff and a small continental breakfast included.
Due to an unexpected car repair we stayed at Ranchlands Inn. We’ve stayed here years prior so figured we would have a clean comfortable place. The hot tub and area is very clean, and jets are excellent. The addition of breakfast offerings are a bonus. The owners are welcoming and hospitable, staff pleasant. Could the Inn use an update? Yes, but the price already conveys this.
Our party of 5 booked here last-minute (due to failure of another hotel to satisfy us!) The desk clerk was very helpful and accomodating. We needed 2 queen beds and a cot, which was waiting in the room for us! The hotel is very clean and well-kept, it was busy as well. There was continental breakfast in the am which was very nice. The room was air conditioned and comfortable beds (even the cot!) We will be back !!
I arrived late at night and it was quiet when the nice proprietress checked me in. It was not till the next morning when I walked to the office to avail myself of the complimentary continental breakfast that I realized how popular and busy this property is. It was just a hoppin'; and that usually is a positive indicator in the accommodation business. More specifically, my room in this motel style property was large with 2 king beds(one of which was comfortable; I only needed one so didn't try the other), newer walk in shower/tub combination, clean towels and linens and all the regular amenities including fridge, iron, tv, wifi, etc... although I did not see a room safe. Other on site perks include a small hot tub and pool, laundry, and the aforementioned breakfast which really is quite sparse... Costco muffins and yogurt, toast, fruit, and coffee, tea and juice. Location is not central being away from the centre of town but it is just off the TCH so easy to find. Free parking on site and the price point is quite reasonable. The Ranchland was the 4th hotel I visited in as many nights and the one I had the most restful sleep. That must count for something. 4 stars.…
Other reviews are accurate, but I don't think they give enough credit to the low cost. My room was $71 Friday, and $71 Saturday. THat's a low price for a nice room, clean, quiet enough. Good bed, very friendly staff, no complaints at all. A friend stay at another motel for $110 a night, slightly larger room, two beds rather than one, but 60% more money.. This is a good deal.
We paid CDN$73 for one night during the Easter long weekend. That's pretty good price compared to other hotel chaina or AirBnB. The room had two beds, pretty clean. Despite the whole complex being over 25 years old, they have done a good job renovating the place. I can tell from the outside that the roof and siding are fairly new. There is an indoor hot tub, but no swimming pool. Breakfast was a little disappointing -- only muffins, toast, apples, coffee and orange juice. Located on the east side of town, so there aren't many restaurants or shops around. Situated on Highway 1. At night I didn't hear the traffic, but I did hear the trains going by once in a while.
