I did the farm tour with 3 friends while visiting the island, and was pleased to discover that the water buffalo calves were friendly and cuddly, and so cute! (They have speckled tongues. Neat). The owners are very friendly and give a history of the farm, the area, and then educated us on the milk and milking process, and then... More

My son held his wedding at the Fairburn Farm. The immediate families of the bride and groom stayed on-site to help with preparations. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Brett made a wonderful breakfast each morning. The rooms were comfortable, with access to the library and dining room if you need extra room to stretch. The first night we... More

Fabulous is the word that comes to mind when describing our stay at Fairburn during our daughter and son in laws wedding weekend.brett and Maryann went above and beyond to make sure every little detail was perfect. From the beautiful scenery to the stunning 130 year old farmhouse with the big comfy beds to the delicious breakfast there wasn't once... More

I recently stayed at Fairburn Farm and had a wonderful visit. The farm is beautiful and peaceful, the hosts are friendly and attentive, and the room was spacious and comfortable. As mentioned by other reviewers, the breakfast was also delicious. Fairburn is just one of those places you travel to and don't want to leave. I'm already planning my next... More

I had my wedding here in August and rented out the cottage for my spouse and I and rooms at the main house for our family. It was a wonderful experience that passed too quickly. I would love to return to have some down time here without all of the planning and effort that goes into a wedding. Maryann and... More

Just wanted to put the mother-of-the-bride's two cents in after Karly and Matt's spectacular wedding August 2nd. Between your adequate and exquisite accommodations, thoughtful and thoroughness and kindness, your healthy and hearty breakfasts and the immaculate grounds and warm hospitality, Fairburn Farms was way more than I could have ever imagined as the perfect place for this wedding and I... Enjoyed another relaxing stay in the cottage on Fairburn Farm. The morning parade of water buffalo walking past our fenced in yard never ceases to bring a thrill for the unique experience. I only regret that my grandchildren aren't there to share the fun. Although the big farmhouse is so comfortable and a remembrance of a time past, the cottage... More

We stayed but one night in mid-July 2014...and, of course, we wished we could've stayed much longer. I'm just echoing everyone else's reviews of the farmstay. The farm is beautiful and peaceful, Maryann and Brett are both great, rooms are simple, elegant, and comfortable (we stayed in Kinsol). We're so grateful for our one night there.

The picturesque home is situated on a farm with beautiful views in the Cowichan Valley (there's a reason people have weddings here), and you can sit out on the magnificent veranda and take it all in. We stayed here two nights in the Kinsol room (stately with very nice views - falling asleep to the sounds of the countryside is... More

We only stayed for 2 days and i regret that we did not stay longer. So quiet at night. Had a great sleep. They let you go see the water buffalo, who are very cute and like to be petted. The owners of this place are super nice and friendly. It was a good stay.
