If you're interested in wildlife this should not be missed! The lodge, which only sleeps up to 10, is ideally situated on Minstrel Island in Knight Inlet giving easy access to the seaward part of the inlet for watching orca, whales and dolphin but also to the rivers to see grizzlies and salmon leaping. We went out with Angus and... More

A dream coming true! Me and my family spent 3 nights/4 days at the lodge in the middle of July and everything was just perfect - the lodge itself being cosy and true to the environment and nature, the 3 guides so friendly and experienced, the wildlife (grizzlies, humpbacks, orchards, eagles, sea lions, dolphins etc) and the nature just amazing... Sailcone's Grizzly Bear Lodge is situated on Minstel Island, a 40 minute seaplane from Campbell River, Vancouver Island. A warning for those who don't enjoying flying in small planes - the ride can be bumpy. The lodge itself is set on a small bluff directly overlooking a very scenic strait. It is very clean & well maintained, & whilst it... More

My wife and I visited at the beginning on June and we went with no real expectations because of the time of year but we couldn't have been more wrong. We stayed at Sail Cone Lodge on Minstrel Island from September 25 – 27, 2014,and it was an amazing experience. Don’t confuse this lodge with the larger one on Knight’s Inlet. This lodge hosts smaller groups no more than 8, and is more intimate and personal. Angus is the owner and was our host and guide for our stay. He... More
