This is not the first review I've done here. I just wanted to say how much we appreciated the hotel letting us check in early on Christmas Eve when the weather was getting worse and the roads were slick. We showed up in Jasper at 2pm and were hoping against hope we'd be able to check in early instead of finding some place nearby that we could wait out a couple of hours with our dogs and young adult kids, but the Tonquin came thru for us and let us in early and it was wonderful. We could relax after a long stressful drive. We reserved a two bedroom this time and had a wonderful space, with a kitchen and living room so we could all relax or spend some time alone. The pool was right downstairs. It was really a beautiful room to spend our Christmas in. I just wanted to thank the staff for making it such a memorable trip.

Food at the Restaurant Whisky jack is very good, but the rooms are awful. the electrical, is substandard, carpets are nasty, under the beds and behind the furniture are all filthy. This property should be completely rebuilt.

Dear Ron, Thank you for sharing your feedback and please accept my deepest apologies for the less than good experience. I can assure you that this is not a standard of our hotel at all. We take pride in the quality of our product and service and strive to make every guest's stay memorable. It is obviously very disappointing to hear that your stay with us did not meet your basic expectations. I hope you will give us another chance to serve you better next time. Sincerely,

Stayed here for 10 days, solo for 7 then family joined me, even tho it’s a bit outdated, the service and friendliness made up for that👍 Room was very comfortable/clean the kitchenette was well stocked ! Outdoor hot tub was excellent, Pool I found a bit chilly, but it was very cold outside, Enjoyed the town of Jasper… as usual❤️ Loved the late night wildlife right outside the door!! Wondering time, thank you goes out to your staff during these trying times!!! Keep smiling!!! Great job👍👍

I’m writing this as I sit in the room at the Tonquin. We’ve had nothing but problems since checking it earlier today. When I booked 3 rooms with my family, we called to notify all rooms must be dog friendly. When we arrived my parents & my sisters room was fine however mine was not labelled as dog friendly. The lady asked us to wait in my parents room until the manager came in at they would call me, no one ever called. An hour and a half later after no one called, I went back to the front to ask about our room. We were then informed that we already checked in however we had not, she was incredibly rude, paying no attention to the fact that no one even called us back. We were told we could just stay in the room assigned to us even though it’s not normally dog friendly, fine. The way the situation was handled was very disappointing considering I was dealing with the front desk manager at that point. Nothing was said in regards to the inconvenience or anything. We then go out for supper, come back to zero parking available, even though we have 3 rooms and 2 vehicles! I went into the front desk asked where are we to park even though we have 3 rooms and was told it’s first come first serve, park on the street. I was shocked and honestly disgusted that this is the managers response, I’m sorry but how to do you advertise parking on site but yet have nothing available??? When we’ve paid for 3 separate rooms!!!! By far the worst experience in the mountains ever. I will never stay here again, nor would I recommend this place. Tonquin Inn you need to take a look at your motel, customer service etiquette and who you have chosen to be front desk manager. I hope you have a wonderful evening because this weekend certainly has not started out well.

Oct. 2022 We stayed two nights in Oct, little did we realize we booked during Jasper's Dark Sky Festival and the place was busy and full. We chose this place because they are pet friendly and have a decent looking pool. We got a ground level one bedroom suite with a kitchenette. The beds were very comfortable and clean but I didn't like that there was not a top sheet on the beds and I sure hope that the duvet on the comforter is changed between guests. The carpet was stained, probably should be ripped out and a floor that could be washed put in. It had a full fridge, stove and dishes. You are expected to wash your dishes before check out or you are charged a fee. I like that our room was very close to the two outdoor hot tubs. We had a beautiful view from our front door of the mountains. This is a pet friendly hotel, the website stated you get a pet welcome package upon arrival but we were not offered one. There is a $25 fee per stay to have your pet there. You are expected to let the front staff know if you leave your pet in your room and step out, even if they are in a kennel. There is a large grassy area to walk your dog and a garbage and poop bags provided in this area. There is also a grassy area with a gazebo near the hot tubs. The pool is good and I liked the hot tub was above over looking the pool. Both nights there were no towels and I had to go to the office to let them know. I saw the gym on the level above the pool but couldn't figure out how to get to it. There is a restaurant there called the Whiskey Jack, it had a very limited menu but the food was good. It was a good stay.

The girl at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating with the few issues we had. There was a coffee pot..but no where to plug it in. She sent someone up right away with an extension cord. There was no top sheet on the bed which we found very odd. There was as nice little balcony with some chairs set up. Air conditioning was minimal but we had the balcony door to open. Bathroom had toilet and tub and was so tiny that if you need a little more room with mobility issues this room wouldn't be for you. Sink outside of bathroom. Room in all was very tiny. We were on the 3rd floor

What terrible customer service for a hospitality based business. To all travellers that choose to stay here- the man at the front desk with the accent is not a good representation of the Canadian people or our kindness. If you can stay anywhere else do.

Based on previous reviews I was really worried about staying here, in fact I tried to change hotel based on the previous reviews but no other availability. Needn't have worried at all! The room was clean and tidy, carpet clean, and no signs of wildlife in our room as a previous review stated. Not saying that review was false but our room was nothing like that review. We were on the 2nd floor so maybe wildlife doesn't make it up that far. I can only say what I found. It is a simple hotel, more motel style, but was clean and tidy. As for rude staff we did not find that at all. I did witness a rather rude customer who was treated back with a curt manner, but to be frank I would have been curt back if spoken to in the way the receptionist was spoken to. No need for rudeness at all. We were told when we arrived that there was no maid service due to staff shortages. Not an issue for us. We make our beds at home, doesn't hurt making them on holiday. Any items needed were supplied from reception as and when needed despite them coping with power outage due to the wildfire. All I can say is if you want 5 star treatment and can't lift a finger yourself and are disrespectful to staff then pay for a 5 star hotel. If you want simple accommodation and are of a polite nature and treat others how you like to be treated then give this hotel a go.

Our room was INFESTED with mice and mice feces! Mouse traps under the furniture. We asked the front desk to have someone come and clean it up 4 times. One of the employees literally laughed at us! They actually told us that we should expect mice in the room as it’s a National Park. What does that even mean???? By far the worst hotel experience of our lives. We have been told that management is going to contact us and nobody ever did. Avoid this place at all costs!!!! If it’s your last resort, don’t go!

Our check in was seamless and they had a pet friendly room ready for us with complimentary treats for the dog which was a lovely touch. The room was very clean and had all the usual hotel amenities. Location was great, towards the end of town but still within walking distance of everything you need. Would absolutely stay again.
