I expected charming 1920s Downton Abbey and I got the stuffy, dusty 1930s in a box. I really had high hopes for the Atha-B, but if I ever rebook it'll be because I got a tour of the room ahead of time. This place needs to turn the rooms above the nightclub into either storage or an area to commemorate... More

We were helped by friendly staff. Had 2 separate bookings and they changed it to one so we didn't have to change rooms. Bit stuffy rooms old carpet and matching old interior. Beds were fine, bathroom old but clean. Location perfect. Too pricy for the standard that you get. It's acceptable for sleeping, which is usually what you do in... More

Absolute noisiest hotel full of drunks, cigarette smoke, and crude loud music. Hotel management indifferent to guest's needs for sleeping or loud vulgar shouting in hotel lobby in middle of night. Very sparse accommodations for high price. Don't waste your time or money. You will be disappointed.

We rented the 2 bedroom suite, 3 friends. One bedroom was quite small but it did have a queen bed. The rest of the suite was very spacious with 2 couches in the lounge, a kitchen, the 2nd bedroom and a spacious bathroom. There was no a/c but the ceiling fan over the bed was fine. Unlike the other reviewer,... More

Because of our trains late arrival to Jasper and the rental agency being closed, we were forced to find sleeping arrangements in Jasper, in which there were no vacancies. However 2 very nice young men at on hotel called around and found us a lovely 2 bedroom suite in the Athabasca Hotel. Staff could not have been nicer and room... More

The Athabasca Hotel is marketed as a olde world hotel reflecting times gone by. It is indeed Jasper's first hotel. Let me say, the Athabasca Hotel certainly lives up to it's times gone by theme, all credit to it's owners for keeping it this way. The decor and room furniture all reflect age. I have a young child and this... More

This was one of my favourite meals on our Canadian holiday. I had a house salad with grilled chicken and it was lovely. The waitress was very attentive and the wine selection was good too. The location was good and close to other hotels Meals were being enjoyed by those around us and WiFi was available too

This hotel was a revelation - we had been told " shared bathroom" but did not realise that meant sharing between the 30 rooms on each floor!! Amazing in this day & age to find 2 single sex bathrooms to serve so many people. There was a basin in the room. No air conditioning & our window opened out to... More

A beautifully redone hotel built in 1930! No air conditioning in the room lol but once u open the windows and the ceiling fan you're swell. The staff was kind and the food in the restaurant delicious and a bit expensive but jasper mostly is :). I had a nap and felt a lovely cold spell all around me but... More

We stayed here after taking the Via train from Vancouver. Hotel is one block from train station, no need for transport. No elevator but that's to be expected with historic hotels. We had a pleasant queen room with a sink, and had to use a shared bathroom. Shower was clean with lots of hot water, very welcome after an overnight... More
