We spent 2 nights here as part of the Rocky Mountaineer trip. The first night as we arrived late, we ate in the main dining room ( the usual burgers, fish and chips etc). The second evening, we were told that all the other restaurants were closed and the main restaurant was again the only option. As we didn’t want to go there again, we asked about restaurants in town. We got the last shuttle down there( much too far to walk) at 6.30pm and then eventually managed to get a taxi back to the hotel. If the hotel is not prepared to open its restaurants, then surely, it should provide a shuttle service for guests to go into town to eat in the evenings. A lot of fellow passengers were not happy with the situation

Location and staff exceptional! The service from Charlotte was a highlight of our stay. Some challenges with the tech and facilities but they were undergoing upgrades and improvements. In order to meet the 200 word requirements I am adding this additional text. No other reason.

We stayed here at the end of May 2022. Our stay was excellent. When we arrived we were greeted by amazing staff and although we arrived before check in time, the staff tried their best to accommodate us asap. They also gave us 2 complimentary drinks whilst we waited for our room to be ready. The room was rustic and beautiful. We stayed in room 256. Outside the room we were delighted with the view and especially the wildlife wandering around. We ate in the main restaurant - the food and portion sizes were great :) also the cocktails went down well. Overall this would be my rating: Location/views - 5/5 Pool & facilities - 5/5 Staff - 5/5 Food - 5/5 Room - 5/5 This is a great place to stay and although it may be a higher priced hotel than others, it is worth the extra money. Hope to stay here again if we ever return to Jasper. Andrew & Edith

We stayed at the Fairmont Jasper Park for two nights during our tour of the Rocky Mountains before we boarded the Rocky Mountaineer. The hotel is situated around a lake with the most spectacular views. Accommodation is in log cabins. However, we were not informed before our arrival that 40% of the accommodation and a sizeable amount of the site was undergoing refurbishment. Our good-sized room seemed to be part way through refurbishment. The air conditioning was not working and a noisy, free standing unit was in the room. The smallest bathroom I have ever encountered in any hotel had been partly refurbished. A new shower had been installed and builders dust was evident on fittings and surfaces. Air extraction was just a bare hole through the plasterboard ceiling. Although we had a small terrace with chairs to the rear of the room, this could not be used as it looked over a building site where the road and paths were being rebuilt. One afternoon a lorry delivered stone chippings and created a cloud of dust that settled onto everything. The room furniture was large and rather shabby. There was plenty of space for an empty full size domestic refrigerator but virtually none for the more needed clothes storage. In a hotel that purports to offer luxury, it is shameful that this room was still being utilised. It should have been taken out of service until the refurbishment of both it and the area in which it was situated was completed. This was not a luxury stay. The main lodge of the hotel was attractive and the views from the restaurant could not be bettered. All members of staff we encountered were delightful. So, in summary, the poor quality room and its poor state of repair made for a disappointing stay at what was supposed to be a luxury resort.

The location of this hotel resort was beautiful. Plenty to do. I was there for one night and we had a great food experience in the main restaurant just off the lobby. Guest agents at the front desk were super helpful and I took advantage of the valet parking for the night as the entire place is under construction. What they didn't tell us was that our back door was right beside the construction and there was noise from 8am-5pm. They did tell us about the construction and we had an email beforehand as well so we were expecting it. They also said my friend and I were in the same building but we were not. Too tired to make any issue out of it but if you're staying there a while it would be something to consider. Also, the WiFi was not reliable and kept cutting out so staying in touch was hard.

We had the 3 course tasting menu and each dish was so yummy. Our server Erika, recommended many of the dishes we enjoyed as well as a bottle of wine to pair with our entrees. She was very knowledgeable and provided excellent service throughout the evening. We will definitely be back!

A lovely setting, truly unique. Great service in The Great Hall Restaurant. Our server Francis was delightful. The food was great and the atmosphere very welcoming. We visited in summer which was lovely and we would love to come back in winter to see the change!

I am torn while writing this review. The views are spectacular! We also had a very nice dinner in their Trattoria restaurant. That said, the everyday, breakfast and lunch restaurant was far from good Our breakfast waiter never checked back on us after ordering. Another person brought our breakfast. He did not wait or ask if we needed anything else. We finally got the attention of another member of the wait staff to bring us what we needed, but that took a lot of time and energy that we should not have had to spend. Seems like a small thing but another issue at the last dinner. My salad was bad, really bad. I only took a couple of bites before I realized the lettuce was old and brown. Waiter was not pleased that I sent it back. Things like that add up. Our key stopped working, they took a 200$ “security” deposit when we checked in. What kind of clientele do they have to need this?? We are seniors! Although the area has beautiful mountains, if I knew then what I now know, I would have skipped Jasper all together and just go straight to Banff and Lake Louise

A fabulous ‘time out’ after an exhilarating day travelling from Lake Louise to Jasper, arriving at Jasper Park Lodge. Konner looked after us superbly. Attentive, but subtle. Professional and friendly. What a delightful experience, and one we will remember for decades to come. The smoked Old Fashioned is to die for. Really.

Our room was a Lakeview cottage on the lake's edge. It was nicely secluded and had a wonderful patio for sitting and having coffee or a glass of wine. We had a flock of Canada geese who nibbled on the grass each night. Twice we were awed by a bald eagle flyby as we sat. The room was clean and spacious with a wood burning fireplace that we enjoyed on two evenings. The staff missed no details taking care of our room. We had dinner at Orso restaurant and it was fantastic. We also enjoyed shopping in the shops at the main lodge and found everything we needed at a reasonable price. The hotel is close to Jasper and so many attractions like Maligne Canyon and Pyramid Lake as well as the Skytram. Beside the road on the way off the property we saw Elk on several occasions and a grizzly bear family just across the road near the Jasper sign. We also saw many Bighorn sheep on our outings and a black bear. The scenery is absolutely stunning and we had to pinch ourselves to remind us it was all real. It was worth the 4 hour drive from the Edmonton airport. We will be back!
