Your staff were VERY well trained: Friendly, knowledgable, welcoming. We took in the Planetarium tour one evening. This was a highlight on our visit. I'd recommend visiting the planetarium. Unfortunately, the rooms are getting very old and carpets are not very clean. Our bed was well-used, and saggy.

Hotel's Favorite
Prior to going to Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, we stayed at Fairmont Chateau Whistler and my husband didn't want to leave. I assured him that we would love the Jasper Park Lodge just as much, but he was skeptical. Within hours of arriving at the lodge he was a believer. Days prior to arrival we received helpful information from the hotel, and they advised that due to staffing challenges (which so many hotels worldwide are having) they would not be able to provide daily housekeeping. They provided us with a credit to use towards meals, activities, etc. I was so impressed with their pro-active approach and the credit. So many hotels are limiting housekeeping service and not offering any credits, discounts, etc. The hotel and the grounds (especially the lake) look like something out of a movie and when we sent photos many people didn't believe it was real. They also didn't believe that the bear my husband saw while golfing was real but it was and it is a story he will tell his golf buddies for years. Activities - Spend as much time on the lake as you can. You won't be disappointed. We did a pedal boat and had a blast. Golfing - my husband still talking about his round and can see why this is one of Canada's top golf resorts. Horseback Riding - there are stables on the hotel grounds (think it might be owned by a separate company). The ride was great. I did the 60 minute and wish I had signed up for 90 minutes. We went along the river and the guide shared a lot of information about wildlife and living in Jasper. The horses were well cared for and everyone at the stable was safety conscious and helpful. We dined each night on the Patio to enjoy the lake view and the mountains in the distance. Every night we talked about eating in one of the other restaurants, but the food and the view kept us coming back. Caitlin (sp?), our waitress, was one of the best waitresses we have ever had at any restaurant. Energetic, friendly, and provided great service. The pool is awesome and the cute trailer by the pool that serves drinks and food served yummy drinks and snacks and we didn't need to leave our pool chairs. If you are at the hotel when the stretching class is offered, I highly recommend. It is taught by Laurie-Ann who is a former cirque de soleil performer. After hiking, walking the lakeside trail, horseback riding, etc. I needed to stretch, and Laurie-Ann showed us some great ways to stay limber.

I never thought I would have to write a poor review about JPL. However, I just returned from Jasper and my stay was very disappointing. Usually I have a wonderful experience. I come to JPL as much as I can and have been to Christmas in November a few times and it’s an amazing experience. This stay let me down. I am going to start with positives. Of course the scenery and landscapes are perfect! I know JPL isn’t like other castle like Fairmont’s. That is what I love about it. The valet staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. I had absolutely nothing to complain about with them, they were met my expectations and more. Check in also was friendly and as expected. Restaurant staff for breakfast were great and breakfast was lovely. Pool staff were friendly but the actual change room was dirty, which isn’t acceptable for a luxury hotel. Hair everywhere on the floor, dirty towels etc. We had dinner in the lounge area, the waiter was wonderful, the food was not. The hamburger tasted like it was coated in pepper and very basic. This is where is was very unhappy. I asked for extra bedding at check in as we had someone sleeping on a pull out. The check in clerk put it into the computer for house keeping (this was about 3:45pm). We went about our day and came back to no bedding, called front desk and they said they put it in the computer for house keeping ( already supposedly done I thought). Went to pool returned to room about 9 ish. Still no bedding. Called again, the response was well the pull out bed does have some bedding in it. There was a bed sheet and a pillow in closet. She said that housekeeping would bring a duvet and extra pillow. 10 pm now, would like to go to bed! Called front desk, got a explanation of being short staffed and it would be a little while still… I tell them to forget it as we want to get to bed, to get up early and enjoy our trip. The person sleeping on the bed froze all night ( yes we turned up heat). Went out the next day, all day. Came back duvet and pillow finally there. However in the room, coffee not refilled, no new soap. In the shower (which was like being peed on the stream was so weak.) no conditioner, lotion almost empty and not replaced ever. It was almost empty on check in. Dirty cups not replaced. I am not usually one to complain about stuff like that but when I am paying as much as I did, I expect way way better. It’s supposed to be a “fancy experience” where you feel a little pampered. Not happy I paid a “resort experience fee” it was NOT that at all. Report experience fee is almost $45.00 a day!! I even treated my family to a $85.00 upgrade when I booked. I was sooo excited! I am a single mom and I had to save for this because it’s not easy to afford JPL but I really wanted to treat everyone. I am so sad. We did express concerns to manager. They covered a approx $40.00 breakfast bill we had. I spent a significant amount for a disappointing 2 night stay. Everything else outside JPL was perfect.

We visited last weekend and were so impressed with the personalized service we received. We went to Orso for dinner and our server Erika was so wonderful! As vegetarians we weren’t sure what to order, so Erika recommended the squash ravioli and risotto alla zucca, both were incredible! She even recommended a wine pairing, which was perfect. Thank you Erika for making our night extra special! We will definitely be back!

Tiny tiny bathroom couldn’t close the door. Expensive huge portion meals $75 average with no small plate choices for solo guests. But the main complaint is the non communication about all the activities being closed during my visit. In fact the opposite iccurred1- I kept getting emails welcoming my anticipated stay reminding me about all the skating skiing snowshoeing etc that I could do when I arrived— yet days later when I arrived I learned it had been closed for the season mid March. Had I known this I never would’ve booked a 5 night stay of my 2 week trip in Alberta. Plus you have to pay a $45 resort fee per day. It is remote from town so forced to eat all meals There if without a car like I was. But does have beautiful lakes around— some are 30 min hike away. Great spa and steam room. Nice shops and cool lodge decor on this historic property

My partner surprised me with a weekend getaway for my birthday, After recently traveling to the Fairmont in Lake Louise I had high hopes and the Fairmont Jasper delivered. Although a much more rustic feel, there was a real sense of community here. All of the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. Really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of skiing. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was so comfy. The main restaurant was very busy, but we had a great time trying new cocktails. Thank you to Jaysy for your outstanding service. The mulled margarita was my personal favourite. Our highlight though was dinner in Orso. Our server Erica made me feel so special on my birthday and the food was nothing short of perfection.

My now fiancé and I stayed here for two nights. I proposed nearby in the Albertan wilderness. On finding out, the concierge, Shane, was nothing short of outstanding. The man is a credit to the hotel. Even phoning ahead to the restaurant we booked to advise them of the engagement. Check was smooth and the gent who helped us was helpful and went beyond the call. Check out was also smooth with an exceptionally well presented gent. The room was excellent with a view of the lake and the dining experience was also fantastic. Can’t rate this hotel highly enough. Canadian hospitality at its finest. We will be back.

My first time in the Rockies did not disappoint. So happy we decided to stay at The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. The location was a bit out of town, but the shuttle was very convenient and we spent most of our time here anyways. The lobby bar offered great drinks and some fun local beers to try. The food was good, as was the service. Really happy we were able to get into the fine-dining restaurant. The food was perfect, and the service was spectacular. Erica was friendly, and personable and made sure we felt pampered.

We rented two rooms for the weekend and BOTH had mice (video and photos). A burger had a short, coarse, curly black hair in it, etc. We have stayed at JPL over 20 times, but this is our last. Who wants to chase mice at midnight and watch them go through your luggage and run all over your medical equipment. No thank you. Maybe use the “resort fee” to clean up your act, Fairmont.
