A jewel in the crown of the Rockies with it's undoubted star James the manager; a more interesting, conscientious and helpful person would be difficult to find. The location is fantastic with a brilliant walk near by past Angel glacier and a summit ridge through the meadows. The hostel is kept immaculately with James's miracle being the outhouse (long drop)...

No shower, no running water and little electricity as in typical mountain hostels but it has been a great experience overall. There are 2 dorms of 16 beds, it is clean, and the kitchen is very well equiped. We have had a lot of very good tips for our trip.

Basic lodge. Both got a comfortable nights sleep. Hike to see Edith cavel was the best part. Lodge was well kept with all the basics you would expect. We were there with a large group so made use of the campfire.

This summer I did a south north tour and hike trip. The second to last day was at this hostel. It is a clean decent place that is great value if you just like to sleep and also want to meet people. There are things that could be improved like the out houses or a better way to wash up...

Oh my goodness! My fella and I went up to this hostel in the winter time! We walked 1000 feet up all 7miles up the long winding snow covered road to reach the hostel which sits perfectly next to majestic mountains! :) You feel such a presence of wildlife here, as you know that you are the minority and the...
