Bucket list adventure: eat a lobster roll while IN Maine. Family staying 1 mile down the road. Perfect location for us. Stayed 3 nights in waterfront hotel in room 88. 2nd floor, end unit. No remodel, room frozen in past, BUT at 79.00 DBL occupancy it is GREAT. Reservation system is archaic but 79.00 a night, I didn't care. Far... More

Booked the same 2nd floor Waterfront Room for the past three years. Beautiful location. No frills or amenities.. but a very affordable location to spend a week / compared to room rates in town. Has a beautiful pool on top of hillside. Spent a lot of time fishing off the dock. Hosts very gracious.

I reluctantly write this review because I want to be able to get a room there.First of all there is no shampoo or a hairdryer in the room. There is a limited number of stations on an old tv.The room is a bit old but our bathroom was redone and the place was very clean and and large. The deck has... More

If you want stay healthy and avoid a heart attack just keep away from the worst motel in the US. An red-faced owner appeared drunk and just shouted at us get out of here, here's my law. I was just flabbergasted. I never saw the rudest person or motels' personnel for that matter, just because I showed my tax exemption... More

While this is probably the cheapest hotel during the summer near Boothbay Harbor, please make note that this is a no frills whatsoever. The only amenity included are towels and soap. No hairdryer, no shampoo, lotion, frig, or coffee maker.....and no reception for the television. Very worn rooms, (we stayed in 2) the first had been "somewhat" remodeled in that... More

This motel has been in business 64 years and we stayed in the older section. It has small rooms and needs updating but I'm not there to see a motel room. The owners were so friendly and caring and they beat anyone's prices in the area. Our room was clean, quite and comfortable. We had a great view of the... More

We loved our stay at the Ship Ahoy Motel and plan to return. The location is about 5 miles from Boothbay Harbor and we had hoped to ride our bikes but the roads are very hilly, very narrow, and very curvy. Not really safe for cycling at all. We stayed in the building called Waterfront and indeed it was. We... More

We stayed in the cheapest rooms (around 50/ night) with infant twins. The owners were very sweet and accommodating. Rooms were cleaned daily although some repairs were needed (a couple shower tiles were missing, patio stones around the pool, etc). There was a great view and really great for the price! Will definitely go again!

Most 4 star hotels that we've ever visited do not include local phone, internet, water excursions, or other amenities in their $500+/night fees. However, the Ship Ahoy clearly distinguishes itself from these hotels in two ways. First, parking isn't an extra $45/night. It's abundant and free. Second, the highest fee for the best room (overlooking the ocean and two islands)... More
