I have stayed at several lodges, this one is exceptional! It is rustic and beautiful! The people are salt if the earth, the food is excellent, the beds were very warm and welcoming! This could be one of the most beautiful places in Canada!

My wife and I spent a most fun & memorable 4 days at this comfortable lodge set in an unbelievably beautiful valley. Sara and Kable are most considerate hosts and Sara is a great chef. Tonquin Valley attracts a very nice group of folks to hang out with and get to know. The beauty of this place is unsurpassed. Sleeping...

The Tonquin Valley may be the most beautiful place on Earth. Our hosts Kable and Sara and their staff made our stay absolutely amazing! Delicious home cooked meals, ultra comfortable cabins with cozy down duvets and wood stoves, and the most beautiful backcountry to explore on foot and by rowboat. I highly recommend Tonquin Valley Backcountry Lodge! Do yourself a...

Our wonderful friend, Mary invited us to join her on this trip to ski into the Tonquin Valley. Using various kinds of lightweight touring skis, we were greeted at the lodge by Gloria's beaming smile. Took us 7 hours to ski in due to problems with skins dealing with some sticky snow issues in the early afternoon and a fairly...

I forced my lovely wife to hike here on our honeymoon (we didn't take horses, because we were only staying for two nights) I have been to 50 countries in the past decade and traveled extensively in most of those. Tonquin Valley Backcountry Lodge was, without a doubt, the best travel experience of my life. The hike in is spectacular....

What a vacation I had this summer. I went to the Tonquin valley with Sara and Kable and had an unbelivable time. The Tonquin Valley is unsurpassed for natural beauty. The Ramparts,(mountains), Amethyst Lakes (2), great hiking, caribou. I went on a five day trip by horse into the Tonquin along with five other people from one family. Sara, Kable,...

We really loved the Rockies as a whole, but the Tonquin Valley Backcountry Lodge was by far the most memorable experience we had during our holidays in Canada. The scenery was outstanding and one could really enjoy the nature and the national park around. We also appreciated the environmental friendly feel in the place. The owners, Cable and Sara, as...

A part of our family holiday to the Rockies we really wanted to experience something unique and special. Everyone can easily visit jasper or lake Louise or Vancouver - but to really experience the breathtaking beauty of Canada and the unique cowboy like lifestyle of an 'outfitter' you simply MUST add this opportunity to your list. No phone no iPad,...

We loved the day hike to Tonquin Valley and back 'to the world', the remoteness (no mobile phone, no internet), the fantastic scenery, the hospitality, the excellent food (cinnamon buns, carrot cake, lasagna, ...), the meals together with the other guests, the 'primitive luxurious' cabins, the silence, ... On July 8, 2013 my wife & I set out on a 23 km hike into the Tonquin Valley Backcountry Lodge. What an experience... the weather was great as we slowly climbed up the trails, through the bush, over rock, rivers and creeks and then across meadows until we reached Maccarib Pass. After lunch we commenced the slow decent to...
