We stayed in the room with 3 beds. Room was huge and great for families traveling with kids. It would have been great to have an extra luggage rack. The room was clean although the carpet could have used a good steam cleaning due to visible spots. The full refrigerator was great for leftover takeout. We didn't use the breakfast area due to kids sleeping in. The pool is not ideal for small children due to shallow area being only 3ft but kids enjoyed the water slide. Restaurant right next door and convenient store within walking distance. Parking lot was well lit which was a bonus due to where the hotel was situated. There is a nice spa in the north wing of the building. The West wing is above the lobby and odd number rooms face the parking lot.
Cons: We checked in late afternoon/early evening, the room below started loudly banging on the floor 1/2hr after we checked in. This continued the next day around the same time, my kids were not running around the room nor jumping off the beds. Eventually the front desk called to say the floor below us were complaining we were walking around too loud, this was late afternoon/early evening. Thought this was a family friendly hotel, this situation soured our stay at this hotel

Nice hotel however it is weird that they do not have real housekeeping as most hotels do. Rooms are not made up like most hotels and they ask you to change own garbage etc unless staying over a week. Great staff though.

I stayed here for a work trip. On the first night, my room felt extremely hot and the AC unit was blowing lukewarm air on max cool. I was too tired to switch rooms so I just went to sleep. At 9pm, front desk called to ask if everything was going ok, and I said, “actually no, my room is VERY hot!” The front desk clerk said he would get someone to look into it. The next day, I came back to a cool room and a note from Maintenance Mike that he had switched out the entire AC unit. SO awesome. Especially the note. Please give maintenance Mike, and the front desk staff raises. Cheers, Ola

We stayed here last night and it was horrific. We wanted to take the kids out for a night away from home to have some fun and get away from our everyday routine. My kids are 9, 6 and 4. The fire alarms went off at 3:30am, 5:00 am and again at 5:30 am. My kids were screaming they were so scared and then we had to take them outside (twice) in -35 weather. It was absolutely ridiculous!!! Then we checked out I had to ask if we were getting our night free or even a discount. I got $20 off the worst night sleep I have ever had. I have never experience this before at a hotel, especially one that came recommended. I personally will not be recommending this hotel if I cannot get my money back or some kind of compensation for our night. The best part is that they told us that they have no idea what caused it and it isn't the first time it has happened lately!! Time to get your crap together. There were a ton of angry people and no one around to let us know what was happening. I had to pack up my kids and go home to get some sleep. What a horrible mini vacation!!!

Three fire alarms from 2:30 to 5:00 am. No direction from staff. Two trips out to vehicle with -40 weather and a very rude front desk lady. ( big lady with neufy accent) Charged full rate and we checked out at 6am due to them having the fire alarm now on silent mode. The second alarm people actually stayed in their rooms! I see from past posts this is ongoing and feel that if you choose to stay at this chain of hotel once they got your credit card your on your own.
I will ensure I spread this information via social media so hopefully other families are not subject to this torture. I have three children aged 8,7,5 and the girls are totally scared to stay at hotels anymore....
Business such as Pomeroy should have consequences for faulty equipment and bare minimum should cover the costs of a traumatic stay. I was told by the lady at the front desk that she thinks it's fair to charge the full rate a the fire alarm is there for our protection!
I'm sure the manager will sugar coat it with some statement by I will never stay with any hotel associated to Pomeroy.

I travel with my dog and really appreciated the room given as it had a outside door to a very nice secured back yard for her. Jenny is fabulous at the front desk and so very helpful. I have stayed in other hotels in town but this one is by far the nicest for the price. Centrally located to everything one would need while in GP.

We just checked in, as we pulled the sheets back, there was a bed bug. I have stayed at this hotel every once and awhile. Most times it a nice hotel, I liked it but that will be my last stay here. They have changed their name 3 times, was Pomeroy, then Holloway I believe, now Quality Inn. The hotel staff, did offer to change our room but they didn’t seem to concerned about the bed bug. They were more concerned when they found out that I took pictures and video of the bed bug. They said they will not charge us for the room and were unwilling to give me a receipt that I was in room 403. They did finally give me a receipt when I insisted but it had the new room that they offered to me. They said since they changed our room they can’t give me a receipt with room 403 on it, we just checked out.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced while staying with us. We take guest feedback to heart as it always helps us to improve our operations. While the hotel regularly monitors for bed bugs, we are unable to prevent their occurrence in all cases. Rest assured, there is no correlation between the cleanliness of the hotel room and the presence of bed bugs. It is the unfortunate reality that bed bugs can and do travel with luggage and clothing anywhere anytime. Our housekeepers receive training on identifying evidence of bed bugs, and apply that training each time they clean a room. Our maintenance team also conducts random inspections each month. On average, we have around 50,000 guests stay with us each year, and we are proud to report that bed bugs occurrences are extremely rare due to our constant diligence. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience and looking forward to welcome you very soon. Please don't hesitate to contact me and book directly with me in your next visit to Grande Prairie. Regards, Naomi Ducklow General Manager

We have been coming to this hotel for years and will never return again. We requested to be moved to another floor because of an unruly drunk guest staying at the hotel who should have been removed but was not removed only because he comes to the hotel all the time, as the staff put it to us. Security was put at risk with this unpredictable drunk behavior of this man. He was drunk and aggressive with the night staff and his children were very noisy and were not stopped even with our complaints eventually my husband and I had to go and put a stop to the noise they were causing playing in the fitness room...not using equipment but PLAYING with and not using when we went in there. The noise from the fitness room travels up to the other floors. 4 children under the age of 16 and only 1 - 16 year old supervising them. Staff did nothing to keep them out as anyone under the age of 16 is not allowed to use or be in the fitness room. If this is the typical client they are letting stay here you better find another hotel.
Pros: - Convenient location - check in was quick as we know the girl very well who checked us in
Cons: - Poorly Managed - security is not priority - breakfast has severely been getting worse for presentation over the years. - Building looking very run down - Noisy - Mattress on bed very hard and worn - Office chair supplied in room very worn with exposed sharp metal on the arms - Furniture looks very worn - Poor lighting in room

I received your email today and unfortunately there has been a misunderstanding concerning the fire alarms being activated on November 9th and 10th. These were not fire drills, or any one smoking, or any one pulling one of our pull stations. This happened two nights in a row due to a faulty heat censer in one our Elevator rooms. I have had our electrician in and they have now fixed the problem. Fire Alarms are for the safety of all our guests, I do apologise for the inconvenience it may have caused you and your family. As for your remarks at the end of your email, I certainly do not remember having that conversation with you as it would be something I would not have said to you. Kathy Mcleod General Manager
