Was passing through while driving the ALCAN. They have some pet-friendly rooms, I believe the charge was an extra $15/night for the pet. A bumpy check in process as they said they had multiple reservations for me even though I only booked once, may have been a glitch with booking through a 3rd party website.

Overall was a decent stay, some drains were very slow to drain, beds were fine, nothing special. Provided a Styrofoam container continental breakfast in the morning. Check out was smooth. I would stay here again when passing through.

There are other hotels that may be bigger and newer, but none of them beat the customer service you will find at this hotel. The staff is great. Breakfast is great. The pool is wet and that’s all kids need! The parking lot is large and we’ve never had an issue finding a spot. Affordable dining right outside at Smitty’s. A great place to stay!

First the negative

When I checked in I was asked for my credit card....the norm, but then the front desk lady explained that she needed to pre authorize it and then have me sign the pre auth slip so she could make sure the credit card was mine?? Never been asked that before...didn't realize I looked so shady, lol! If she had any doubts she should have kept them to herself or asked for my drivers lic.

We are a big family (two adults and three children) so I booked a "Family Suite" I was expecting just that...a suite, but it was just a double room with a small bar sink and fridge and a microwave!!

I went down to the front desk to see if there was a mistake, there wasn't...but I upgraded to a deluxe family suite ($10.00 more) and didn't expect too much...I wasn't dissapointed...a bigger room with a sofabed , small bar sink and fridge and a microwave.

I guess I expected two rooms...you know a suite..with privacy for the adults...oh well!

Now the good.....

The room was clean, the hotel quiet and the waterslide was great for the kids. They spent a lot of time there and enjoyed it. Good for expending that extra energy.

Breakfast in the am was excellent, big selection of goodies and healthy stuff as well. Breakfast room was large and clean and we didn't have a problem finding space. It was free, that made it even better!!

I would stay there again, given all the plus' but I wish they would have been more honest about the suite thing...that is what made me book the room in the first place.

7/10 is my rating

My husband was in Grande Prairie to see a sick family member at the very nearby hospital. I called for a reservation at this location and spoke with Kyla who gave an excellent rate and provided outstanding service. The hotel exceeded expectations and was perfect for his needs. BUT, here is the best part. Two days after my husband got home (to Ontario) he discovered he had left a pull over/hoodie in the unit. It was a favourite of his and an NHL branded one which was a gift and would be costly to replace. He basically wrote it off at that time as previous experiences have always seen such things be absorbed and never reported found. I called Kyla and she called back in minutes saying she found it and the following day she sent it to us! WOW, that is rare and uncommon honesty and integrity! Thank you to the cleaning staff and Kyla for obviously setting the bar high!

Towels were fine, water pressure in the shower was fantastic.
Everything else - not so much.
The room was quite outdated and smelled musty. The beds were ancient and super uncomfortable. You could also hear other guests very easily.
Also, when we were walking through the lobby, we heard an employee at the front desk calling out to another employee and using inappropriate language.
It did the job but would not stay here again.

had a difficult time finding this hotel as the sign, parking lot and entrance were pitch black after dark. No lights on anywhere. Check in took over 20 mins. Floors & furniture in the hotel are absolutely filthy & the room was $30 more than our usual hotel. pool and hot tub were super busy (compared to elsewhere) and was glad to leave when I did. At your own risk. i personally will never stay again.

We were seeking a hotel for a romantic night. Instead we got a rude night clerk and a man bursting into our room at 12:30 am. I had to wrestle him out the door. Rude night clerk appeared to indicate that this was a regular occurrence.

We stayed at this Hotel in April, when we visited Grande Prairie. The hotel is very clean, the front desk staff was very plesant. They allowed us to bring our small dog to stay with us!! There was a volleyball tourney that weekend and they were very quiet, and well behaved. We stayed in a room on the backside of the hotel and it was very quiet, my sister had a room at the front of the hotel and she found it a little noisy, but not too bad. The waterslides were a big hit with our kids, lots of towels and very clean!! The continental breakfast was great!!! Lots of choices and lots of food!! We will stay here again when we visit.

My sons hockey team had a double header that we had to spend a night in Grande Prairie this past weekend. We selected the Service Plus Inns and what a fabulous place to stay. Our experience was incredible from the late check in to the hotel accommodating our team with a meeting room to watch the world juniors game (they even bought the team pizza) right through to check out. The beds were comfortable, the staff were more then helpful, thank you Service plus!

What do the pet friendly rooms look like ? Anything like the president suite?
Answer from Courtney C
Sexsmith3 contributions1 helpful vote
Good Morning, Our pet friendly rooms have recently been renovated and are spacious. We only offer pet stays in our standard rooms, with either 1 or 2 queen beds and are located on the first floor. Our presidential suite is our most luxurious suite in the hotel, while our standard rooms are very nice, they will not be as large as the presidential suite or have a jetted tub. Courtney C.
