The Pomeroy hotel is amazing.....
All the staff were very attentive, friendly, and accommodating, A five stars in my book!
From the moment I called and made our reservation I knew we were going to be in great hands. Alan who arranged our booking took the care and time to explain the many options available and the amenities the hotel had to offer, naturally, this created even more excitement to visit!
Our room was perfect! And the mattress and selection of pillows ensured a great night's rest :)
The complimentary breakfast was outstanding! The options for breakfast were far and wide, and would satisfy any breakfast connoisseur!
The pastries were fresh and seasonal, I particularly enjoyed the pumpkin cake loaf the best treat with coffee, (the coffee was super BTW)!!
The breakfast options were not only extensive but well balanced with healthy options. The attentiveness to the cleanliness and replenishment of items was frequent.

I am quite wowed and very impressed with the service of the breakfast staff, our appreciation to Theresa, Grace and Ernard for making our breakfast so fulfilling and for greeting us each morning with a smile and happy hello.

Having our event at the hotel was an ideal choice as the host staff were professional, attentive and super polite.

I look forward to staying at the Pomeroy again! All the staff made us feel welcome and like family. Well done!!!

My favorite part about staying at the Pomeroy is the breakfast experience. Grace, Theresa, and John always greets you with a smile and makes you feel valued and welcomed. They persistently go above and beyond in their service and are super attentive to the needs of everyone. You can expect eggs cooked differently everyday with a rotation of different meats and carbs (pancakes, waffles, hashbrown, french toast, ham, bacon, sausage). I notice the food and beverage are always replenished right away and the serving areas are kept clean by the staff. There's no shortage of quality food when you have Ernard on shift. Would be great if they brought back build your own hot oatmeal with assorted toppings and if they added bananas to their selection of fruits.

We have stayed in several locations in Grande Prairie and this was, by far, the best accommodation. We stayed in a junior suite and everything was as pictured/advertised. The desk table pulls out so we were able to conduct Zoom meetings with the city lights in the background. It was a very different atmosphere from other suites we have stayed in!
Great shower and soaker tub!
COVID precautions were taken very seriously, and yet, all of our encounters with staff were examples of excellent hospitality. We mentioned some small things that would have made our stay even better and our comments were validated and addressed.
Parking is all outside and plentiful. The exterior doors were locked at 8pm. (a buzzer system allowed easy access)
We highly recommend Pomeroy, GP.

I’ve never heard of Pomeroy before so I was a little leery. I didn’t need to be. It was very nice. There was lots of space. The bed was comfortable. They had some softer and firmer pillows. There was free breakfast but We also received a voucher for $25 off 1 supper for each of us. I thought that would mean it was a really expensive supper but again was surprised as many of the dishes were around $20-30. My only complaint was that there was a 1” space under the door that let the light in at night and I thought it kinda creepy.
I would definitely stay again though.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times in the past but not for a few years. It seems this hotel has gone downhill since then. During my most recent stay, I noted numerous things that didn't make for the greatest stay.
The first thing, though seemingly small, was the shower curtain. It smelled absolutely putrid and moldy. I could smell it as soon as I went in the bathroom and tried not to touch it when showering. It was overpowering. It is a cloth shower curtain and there is no excuse for this. It could easily be thrown in the wash every couple weeks to maintain its freshness.
The room overall felt drab. Even though the finishes seemed newer, somehow it still felt rundown. There was no suitcase holder to put my suitcase on, so I had to put it on the floor, and the carpet did not seem that clean. The fridge was not clean and had food residue and leaks in it. The lamps were comically wobbly, having come loose from their bases and teetering over. I tried to screw them back in place but the holes are totally stripped. The ventilation is also poor. I was awoken around 5 am one morning by the strong smell of someone cooking eggs (maybe in an adjacent suite? I can't imagine it traveling that far from the kitchen). My colleague said they woke up to cigarette smoke wafting through their vents, so I felt fortunate that the smell I encountered was less offensive. The bed was comfortable, but all the pillows were overstuffed and lumpy and left me with a neck ache. I meant to bring my own pillow but forgot and regretted it.
I was there for a conference and the conference/ballroom area were absolutely freezing! Everyone was cold and wearing jackets. It was like being in a freezer. The water provided had a very strange chlorine taste to it. My last day there was a Sunday and I had to wonder if there were cleaning staff there that day. All the garbage cans in the lobby area were stuffed full and overflowing with garbage on the floor.
The staff were nice, the restaurant and lounge were decent and the breakfast was free. I'd stay here again if I had to, but I'll definitely look to stay somewhere else first, especially considering the price.

The room was very comfortable. Breakfast buffet (possibly limited by covid conditions) was good - bacon, eggs, sausages, some fresh whole fruit, yogurt - plenty to choose from. (The dish of fresh melon was disappointing - possibly prepacked days ago?) Dinner in the restaurant was excellent with attentive but unobtrusive service.

With all the legislated changes by government due to COVID19 we definitely have had to change how we operate our business in different ways. We had the pleasure of staying at the hotel at the coldest week of the year. Jan 11.2020. The service was amazing. The staff at the banquet room ensured that everything was perfect for my client. (We were the entertainment company for that night)

At 1 am, we tore down our equipment and proceeded to start our vehicle that was outside for 4 hours. The vehicle would not start. Immediately, one of the banquet staff, Carter told me that he would give me a boost with his car. I offered to pay him and his response was ....I am here to serve you NOT to take your money! WOW

The next day, we tried to get the vehicle started and the weather was way too cold so the staff again had their maintenance guy Chris to re boost my vehicle. Would not accept any money but said "we are here to please you" This is going beyond customer service. It is the same as how we treat our customers. It is great to see amazing customer service from Shyla the front desk

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting family with my father, husband and infant son. I was extremely pleased with the Pomroy!

The location simply could not be beat. Right Downtown, super central it was right beside the Grande Prairie Mall and just a short walk further took you to Superstore. For a city that’s not really walkable this hotel allows it to be a very walkable city.

Breakfast was also great. There was hot potatoes, pancakes or French toast, fresh made waffles, sausages and bacon everyday. Also fresh fruit salad, selection of yogurts, juices and small pastry items. Much better than most Hotel breakfasts that I’ve had in Canada

The pool was also alright albeit a bit boring but warm enough to take our baby in and there were robes in the room we could use to visit the pool.

Tuesday night (I think it was Tuesday) they had a guest appreciation evening with small Appetizers and drinks and the staff were simply amazing.

I’d definitely stay here again. The only thing o would say could be improved would be the pool with a small slide pr something.

Really enjoyed the food at the restaurant at the Pomeroy. The chef on the day we were there was Khalil, he is an amazing chef. Khalii cooked our steaks to perfection, and the dessert was delicious. Its nice to know he cares about the environment and most importantly, food he prepares. I totally recommend this restaurant at the Grande Prairie Pomeroy. Thanks Khalil
