Good value, great staff and an overall good experience. Underground parking in not available as yet after the flood and breakfast is limited. They do offer a $10 redeemable voucher for breakfast. I will definitely stay there in future.

We stayed a month and were so happy to have a suite where we could cook. No oven but mini fridge, stove with 2 burners and equipped very well with the basics for cooking and eating. Staff are all so friendly and helpful from the front desk to cleaning service and maintenance. I have to give extra kudos to Pearle who went over and beyond to buy some healthy snacks for me in the market. This hotel has a little market and give you a $10 card each day to buy whatever food you want. Lots of chocolate, pop, cookies and croissants. Some toiletries etc. I asked Pearle for some healthy food like yoghurt, juice and nuts. She bought them and treated me with Cashews - my favorite! Thank you to everyone at the Merit hotel. We will be back!

I stayed at Merit in January for several days. I have to say the staff are amazing! They get to know you and make sure you are taken care of. One of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had. Pearl and staff were amazing. The hotel is clean, well cared for and an excellent price. Thank you again

Front desk staff is very friendly and check in was quick.Room is spacious with a coffee maker,fridge and microwave.Lots of parking.The pool is not open and the onsite restaurant is not open either. The air conditioner was a bit temperamental. The room is clean and lots of hot water

I have operated a lot of hotels and stayed in even more around the world. Pearl at the front desk is a gem. So friendly and efficient as are all the employees. Always a smile and always willing to help. Rooms are massive, 2 TVs, couch and lounger and desk. Very good pillows and linens. I will make this my place to stay from now on in Fort MacMurray. Centrally locates. Heated underground parking. Great spread at breakfast of power bars and muffins and treats.

I've always enjoyed my stay at the Merit. The room are always clean and service is exceptional and I like the fact that there is a restaurant and pub on site. The only negative is that it is a little far away from any shopping so it makes it tough if in town for business without a vehicle.

Hello Tamera Thanks so much for taking the time to review us. I'm very glad that you enjoy staying with us time and again. The culture of service excellence at the Hotel and the dedicated team of friendly people who deliver that culture is without a doubt a big differentiating factor in this hotel that sets it a part from others in Fort McMurray. Unfortunately the shopping nearby is limited to the Wal-Mart, some grocery stores and a few strip mall stores with the main shopping mall on the other side of downtown,. However of the very big positive upsides to being on the South End of Downtown is that we do not experience the volumes street activity security related challenges within the surrounding vicinity of our hotel at night time that is centralized around the mall and casino area. So there is certainly a safety upside to being a little bit of a distance away from that area. Thank you again, and we look forward to continuing to be your chosen Hotel in Fort McMurray.

Hello I m Szusana ,as you know i travel a lot , and i get to stay often in Fortmcmurray,this time i stayed at the Merit Hotel on Franklin AVE. Very nice place , hotel is Very Clean, Really I think one of the Cleaness in FortMcmurray and very well situated . Lots of accomodations around. Close to everything. The staff of the hotel is very polite and kind . The Cleaning personnel really very Professional. And of course the staff at the front desk very polite ,Professional and they willing to help n give you the best service they can to make your stay ,happy. Especialy Ramil and Miss Pearl. No laundry. Very pet friendly, I have 2 dogs (med, large size) and they were very accomodating. And yes vending machines on every floor.
sorry Sue unfortunately I'm not sure if it is up and running, but I sure hope it is would be nice to warm up and relax in a nice hot tub
