Nestled in a central location, the Royal Hotel West Edmonton, Trademark Collection by Wyndham, is popular for its proximity to attractions and shopping. While some guests commend the friendly staff and charming decor featuring artistic corridors, others have voiced concerns over inconsistent service and cleanliness levels, with certain rooms described as needing attention.

Detailed Reviews
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and very quiet and very spacious rooms. Great location to the West Edmonton Mall, They only clean the rooms every 3 days because of Covid but if you ask them to clean your room they will do it right away. The bed was really comfortable, fridge was cold and air conditioning kept the room very cool. The only downside is the bathroom shower is small and the fan didn't work. The toilet paper holder also wouldn't turn properly. No pool but I went to the WEM Waterpark. The breakfast buffet was average but the hotel is located very close to other restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely stay there again.

Need to service the room more frequently. They have a 3 days interval cleaning schedule which should be 2 days actually when you are staying with kids in the room. I loved the bed. They charge you for juice in breakfast but I feel it should be free as they claim to have the best breakfast in Edmonton. Please add more options in your breakfast menue.

We have stayed here before and been delighted, but with the world in peril and life rolling by, we had not been back for five years. And to our delight, we were NOT disappointed. The rooms are impeccably cleaned, the stay unfailingly courteous. This well situated hotel room ( You can walk to all of the restaurants and to the mall, if you so choose) is warm and inviting, and offers a truly wonderful hot breakfast along with your room. We had three choices, and chose the breakfast sandwich, which was the best one I have ever eaten. Served by the delightful Miriam in the Steel Cafe in the hotel, it is layered with egg, tomato, lettuce, cheese and put inside a hot and toothsome English muffin. How many other hotels offer something like this? No tired croissants or cold cereal here! This was a truly splendid meal and the coffee was hot and bracing. The hotel also has the best gym of any hotel in Canada. It is like having a private spa, as you have all the equipment to work out on, televisions to watch and everything you could ever require to utilize for maximum fitness during your stay. A romantic stay, a happy few days, and a nod to a definite return. This is our go to in Edmonton for every trip in the future!

Our experience at this hotel began with a check in that was somewhat difficult and quite lengthy, even though we are Wyndham members. The clerk was not very friendly and very officious. We have a small dog, and had reserved a pet room. This is not a " pet friendly" hotel, but only has a few pet friendly rooms near a poor quality part of the hotel.
Our room was right next to an exit and a stairwell. There were many slamming doors during the night. Further, the exit door has a cigarette ashtray next to the door and smokers congregate right outside the exit. The hallway ( and our room ) smelled of secondhand smoke.
The heating/cooling unit in the room came off and on very loudly every 15 minutes until we turned the whole thing off. The remainder of the night was more quiet, but the air in the room was very stale.
This is an older hotel, with some upgrades, including fresh carpeting and paint in some rooms. It does need further upgrades to the heating units, and there should be more options for pet stays.
On a slightly more positive note, breakfast staff were very pleasant and attentive, although the hot entrees were not very hot because the heating lamps under the trays were not all working.
Overall the hotel does need some work.

We have stayed there multiple times. Their executive one bed room rooms are the best. Under $200 somehow, whirlpool tub, living room space with sofa bed in case there are more of you. And those rooms are further from the banquet rooms so I highly recommend. We got a free buffet breakfast too im not sure if that always happens or it was just a certain day of the week. Stay here if you are planning a trip to West Edmonton Mall. 3 minute drive or 20 minute walk down the same road the hotel is on. Beats $400 plus a night for the most overrated hotel in Canada (you can figure it out) If travelling for business there is a cozy bar that doesn’t get too busy. Steels Restaurant is great. Have stayed there several times in my 20 years in this province just haven’t written a review but they’re the most value. I actually stay here sometimes even when I have no business in the west end. Highly recommend. Good luck!

We arrived at the hotel on the evening of September 15th. The lady we dealt with at check in was very difficult to deal with. We booked the "King Superior Club Room" Which as advertised, had a pull out bed as well. There were 3 of us staying in the room so that was perfect. Upon looking at our booking the lady took it upon herself to DOWNGRADE our room to simply a standard king room. She argued that this room would still have a pull out, which it did not.
After looking at the room, and confirming it did not have a pullout as requested, she began to become confrontational stating that I was incorrect and that I will have to pay extra for an upgrade from that room, although my original room WAS an upgrade from the one she placed us in.
I informed the lady that I am a Diamond level Wyndham member, and stay in your hotels for a quarter of the year at the least, and that as a Diamond member I am entitled to a free upgrade and showed this to her on my app. She then began getting distraught to the point where your other staff member had to step in. She told the first lady multiple times to be quiet and that she would handle it, but she just wouldn't give up the fight. She even went as far as to whisper to the other staff member in an attempt to get her way when she knew she was in wrong- as did your other staff member.
The lady who stepped in was wonderful, she agreed with us 100% that this was an error on their part and would go and view a room before sending us to it to ensure it would be well suited. She called down to the first lady that we had dealt with to ask her to assign us to a new room and provide the key cards.
This lady flat out threw the cards at us, and yell "there!" and turn away from us in a huff.
Unfortunately although the hotel was beautiful, with great amenities, this lady ruined what would have been a very enjoyable night. We even went as far as to avoid passing the front desk when she was present as she just kept giving us glares and rolling her eyes. Im unsure what her problem originally was, but I wont stay again at a hotel that greets its patrons with this type of attitude. Very disappointing to say the least.
The room was lovely, and the cleaning staff were great.
We did go to the bar downstairs and unfortunately upon trying to order 3 drinks, the bartender stated she didn't know how to mix drinks, only shots, and simple items like a Rum and Coke.
The breakfast was good.

Only stayed one night in the honeymoon suite. The staff were friendly and helpful, however, at the time of booking special instructions were added for check in that were not applied and caused check in delays and was inconvenient. The room showed wear and tear, the tub was a fantastic size but looked like it had seen better days. Internet was good, I was able to conduct my business efficiently. The bed was surprisingly comfy, both my husband and I sleep well and really enjoyed our sleep. Location wise it's close to West Edmonton mall and there's lots to do around there. It was a bit tricky getting out of the parking lot, but easy to get in. We ended up ordering through Skip the dishes, as the restaurant was only open for breakfast and lunch. Overall, our stay was pleasant.

Not impressed and won’t return again. They have cheaper out so much they don’t offer room service, no movies on demand, no platforms like Tubi, Netflix, etc. Bring your own quality tissue as it’s less than 1 ply lol kid you not. Shower head parts fallen and won’t stay in place. It’s run down and needs renovations badly. Complementary breakfast is next to nothing - nothing was hot. Not to mention the fruit salad looked old, pancakes cold, hash browns were dried up - went elsewhere to eat. Very disappointed- they don’t value their members in the program let alone those who are not apart of the program. Seek alternative accommodations is my recommendation.

I always use one. Not sure of their payment policies.
The elevator is not key carded.
We stayed in the executive king and it’s quite nice. There is a separate section for “club” rooms that have extra privileges but I’m not sure what they are or if they are worth paying extra for.
The cost of the shuttle is $30.00 per adult round trip. Please report to the kiosk located at door #7 on the arrivals level - no reservation is required and the shuttle departs from the Edmonton International Airport every 60 minutes.
