Situated directly in the downtown, HI-Calgary is close to all the restaurants and shops on Stephen Avenue (8ave). You also have access to the C-train (free in downtown) and it’s not to far from the bicycle path across the river. It is a nice place to meet people, the staffs is very welcoming and helpful; they will give you good...

The hostel was in a great location, right by the LRT stop, which made it very easy to go to and from the greyhound terminal. It also made it very easy to hop on the LRT and explore downtown where there are a lot f food options, and also to go for a walk by the river. The room and...

I stayed here for a number of weeks. The place was very well run and the staff were very helpful. It was the simple things that made this place great, like pancakes in the morning and other things. This certainly wasn't a fancy hostel, but it felt great to be staying here.

My friend and I stayed at HI Calgary City Centre for three nights after four days travelling through the Rockies. We stayed in a private dorm with a huge TV, and private en-suite (best way to finish off a week in hostels!) The hostel is amazing, extremely clean and not too far a walk from the major attractions such as...

I stayed at HI-Calgary City Centre for 3 nights when I was visiting Calgary. The hostel is very clean and the rooms were fantastic, bright and most importantly exceptionally clean. The location is great, within walking distance of the Calgary Tower, Stampeed and the shopping location. Spent my time staying in a private room which had an ensuite bathroom, comfy...

All in all this was okay in terms of the rooms and the facilities, which are nice for a hostel, but I didn't love the location. It seemed to be in a slightly seedy part of town and as a solo female traveller I didn't feel too safe walking around after late afternoon. That could just be me though. So,...

I just needed a place to stay for the night and the guy at the desk was clearly not trying to help me out. The private rooms are very overpriced (I mean, 95 dollar for a queen size bed and a bathroom with just a shower?). The location is close to downtown but in a pretty dodgy area (next to...
