I really appreciate this hotel for welcoming and accepting me wholeheartedly especially for those who need to isolate. Staffs were also accommodating when I have a special request for my food. Kudos!!
Huge mold issue around the window - changed rooms. Breakfast box offered - one available for two of us. Second box not even made by 10am so we had to share one. Breakfast box consisted of water, juice, granola bar and fruit cup.
This is a very dirty and dated hotel. We are verry disappointed. I can’t imagine that this hotel will exist much longer in downtown Calgary. Our room looked worn and filthy. We won’t be coming back. Do yourself a favour and book somewhere else.
We booked a room here for the Hotel Lives series - during COVID where you could watch a concert on the pool level from your balcony. The room was a bit dated but to have the opportunity to experience a live concert, it was totally worth it! Staff were really nice and helpful. The parkade next to the hotel was super cheap on the weekend. Needs to have fridges in rooms - that would have been a bonus for our beer.
I read a lot of reviews saying what a dump this place is, that it's outdated, bloodstained sheets, dirty, run down....WHY DIDN'T I LISTEN? Likely because I thought it couldn't be that bad. Where do I start... - Rooms look like rundown motel rooms one might find on the side of the highway in 1983. Use your imagination. - Water in the sink and the shower, both ran BROWN. Additionally the sink was dirty with something caked on it and I had to clean it myself. The brown water coming out of the pipes made us scared to brush our teeth so we used bottle water so just like down in Mexico. - Tub was dirty, and full of cracks and stains. The massage shower head was cool but again looks like it's been there there since 1983. - We found a used dirty q-tip on the floor beside the bed. - The closet was even horrendous and looked like it belongs in a crack house. - No phones or fridge in room. Zero amenities in the room except a coffee maker. - Our room was on the 3rd floor, by the entrance to the pool. Around 5:30am the staff arrived to take care of the pool area and woke us all up by pushing loud bins down the hallways, slamming doors (12 - 15 times I counted as I lied there awake), shouting to each other in the hallway. This commotion ruined the ONLY good thing about this hotel, the bed and sheets are SO COMFY, one could possibly get a good night's sleep if they actually let you. - Room smelled very musty. So bad that we had to sleep with the window open. Window sill was filthy. Thermostat didn't work (as other reviews state), so we froze all night from the central air and the window open. They do not provide extra blankets. If it's that musty and old, I wonder if they actually clean the ducts? - Stains running down the walls, and on the lamp shades. THE POOL - Heated so it's a good temperature. The towels are so small and flimsy that they only cover half of my 3 year old. They were all filled with stains, yellow, brown...who knows what Gross! THE LOBBY - You are locked in and out. You have to call them on your cell phone to open the door. Since there is only one person working at the front desk, if they are busy with someone which they always are, then you have to wait outside until they come unlock the door. Completely ridiculous.procedure. Why don't they hire a security guard to man the door like all other establishments are doing in the city. Total waste of $120, stay at the Hyatt down the street instead! …
