Only place to stay a reasonable distance from Lake Louise (if you were on a bike trip like we were). Beautiful views, best dinner on the trip (funky breakfast but we hear that it was the chef's first day on the job), and great secluded location. Rooms were a little funky for the $280 or so we paid. The bed... More

Dingy rooms with brown water from the taps. No screens on the windows in terribly hot, stuffy rooms but you can't have them open because of the mosquitos. The beds are painfully hard. The walls are so thin you can hear everything, you might as well be in a tent. No food from the dinner menu as a problem with... More

We spent just one night here in a two day trip down the ice field parkway to Banff. It is the only building on bow lake, stunning scenery (particularly if you get up at sunrise and see the lake when it is like a millpond - we got some stunning pics of the mountains perfectly reflected, like a tourist brochure!... The lodge is in a stunning location. It was even more scenic due to an early snowfall. The dining room has amazing views and is very rustic. Yes the rooms are basic especially the bathroom but this added to the charm. As with hotels the world over you pay for location rather than ameinaties. Worth every penny and all six... More

Left Emerald Lake with the intention of looking for a breakfast stop on route to Jasper and found this delightful place. Great breakfast, attentive staff, and a super little souvenir shop attached. Fabulous views of Bow lake and surrounding mountains. Definitely worth a stop, off highway 93.

What a charming lodge away from many other things. Offers stunning views and decent meals. Kitchen can't handle big groups and food choices are limited but nice enough. Check in staff aren't the best but this is somewhat a norm in the Canadian Rockies I have found. Room is basic but clean, large and comfortable. They offer stunning views. Wifi... More

It may seem a little dated and a little pricey, but we certainly don't regret our stay. It was a great way to start our vacation in the Rockies. Getting up in the morning and watching the sunrise dance on the Crowfoot Glacier reflected by Bow Lake. Walking along the beach and just marveling at the beauty of the scene... More

We stayed 2 nights and we were a party of five including my 6 year old daughter. The scenery was fantastic, the room was nice but older in style...but keep in mind you are at a historic lodge within the park boundary, which is hard to beat. We ate all our meals in the dining room and the food was... More

The pros were few and far between and its historic nature didn't outweigh a stay that left something to be desired. Pros: Historic nature, friendly staff, great breakfast (not included) Cons: No A/C, no fan, no screens on the windows, the bathroom was tiny and the shower was barely big enough to use, did I mention no screens? No phones... More

We weren't expecting anything special with reviews stating "simple rooms", but for $360 a night, we were shocked at the accommodations. They are run down rooms with particle board walls. Our room smelled very bad (a mouldy smell) and the walls were so thin that the guy snoring in the room beside us sounded like he was in our room.... More

To our most valued guest, Thank you for taking the time to share these opinions with our team. It is truly unfortunate that these memories you left our property with. It is true that we are a rustic lodge. The construction of Simpson's Num-Ti-Jah lodge was completed in the 1950's, before cell phones, internet, computers and a lot of major... More
