Hotel's Favorite
My wife and I stay here every winter and summer, and even though we have spent well over 100 nights here, we still have reason to come back again. On this summer visit, we treated my mother and cousin to a nice 3-week vacation, split between the Chateau Lake Louise and the Banff Springs Hotel. Because there were four of us travelling, we booked a Two Bedroom Lakeview Suite. We were pleased to be assigned to 859 on the top floor. Arriving at the hotel, the valet staff promptly greeted us, unloaded our bags, and handed us the keys to our suite. We left the car with the valet and headed to the suite. It wasn't busy at the front desk, but it was nice to be able to skip and head directly to the suite. We were greeted in the suite by a nice bottle of wine and a welcome snack. Accor Diamond member benefits, such as the drink vouchers, were also provided on arrival. The suite was beautifully renovated, and provided good space for the four of us. With two bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths, large closets, a lovely living room and dining area, the suite had great space. And of course, great views from the six windows across the front of the turret! The only thing it could have used, was some additional dresser space for clothing in the second bedroom. The master bedroom had plenty of drawer space. We ate dinners in the Fairview, Alpine Social, Walliser Stube (always my favourite) and several times at the Lakeview Lounge. We had breakfast in Lago most mornings, but also ordered in-room dining a few times. It's nice to have breakfast included via both options. All meals were excellent. I don't know if we just got lucky, but we seemed to get the best window table for every meal (except Alpine Social, which doesn't really have any views), so that was appreciated. On our first day while having dinner in the Lakeview Lounge, the hotel's Manager of Dining Services came to our table, and said she noticed us having dinner, and offered any assistance with any meals for the remainder of our stay. We already had reservations for remaining nights, but it was very nice of her to reach out. If I had one complaint, it was about the time to get breakfast. There was nearly always a line to get a table, and with no way to reserve. Guests in suites are supposed to have priority dining access, but that clearly doesn't apply to breakfast! It also would be nice if you could have in-room dining earlier than 7:15, which is too late when planning some early morning hikes or trying to get to a Lake O'Hara bus reservation. I don't remember it like this on any of our prior stays, so this is an area that really needs to be addressed. I'm hoping once the delayed renovation of Louiza is completed and they finally open, perhaps they will offer breakfast in two restaurants? They certainly need more breakfast capacity to eliminate the waits. While not the responsibility of the hotel, over the course of the nearly two weeks we stayed here, it certainly helped that the weather was fabulous, with only one day with cloudy skies. We used the Moraine Lake shuttle bus a couple of times during the stay. We hiked about 50 miles and climbed a couple of peaks. It was a great trip! Now we just have to wait until March for our return visit.

I stayed at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise for five nights with my wife and our two sons, ages 6 and 8. Bottom line: this is a wonderful hotel in a spectacularly beautiful setting, with great service and tons of things for the whole family to do.

The service is even better than the location and iconic property. Plenty to do and activities reserved for guests so it is worth staying overnight even for a short visit. The staff take a genuine interest in making your stay an experience to remember.

This is our 2nd trip to the Chateau Lake Louise and it just keeps getting better and better. In order to enjoy a great breakfast and excellent service, we opt for the gold level and it's always a solid choice. We enjoyed a very nice corner room with a view of both the woods and the lake. Thank you to Kathleen, of the gold lounge, for the room upgrade and for helping us throughout out stay. The breakfast buffet was always excellent - and we like the freedom of showing up for early morning coffee, heading back to the room, and then enjoying a really nice buffet breakfast before catching the shuttle to the ski mountain. Romeo, cranking out some delicious omelettes and a great high energy vibe, was the highlight of each morning. Thank you to Romeo for some excellent omelettes and a great start to each day. The evening hors d'oeuvres were solid and we would generally have a glass of wine in the lounge before heading out to a local dinner. Tip: the hotel has a shuttle service that will drive you to the local restaurants in Lake Louise. We had a great meal at the Outpost (kinda a luxury rustic pub) as well as a Bill Peyto's (local, inexpensive, low key and good). We also heard great things about the Station. If you want to grab a dinner, outside of the hotel, the shuttle service is a nice option. The folks working the shuttle service are also very, very nice! Shuttle to mountain: We generally grabbed the 9:00 shuttle to the mountain - super easy and we checked out skis downstairs just outside of the shuttle area. The trip to the mountain takes about 10 minutes - return trip would normally happen around 3:30 for us. It makes for a very easy, and fun, ski day! Lake: The location on the lake is really, really amazing. The views constantly change, based on the light and the conditions, and the skating area is a lot of fun. Walking around the lake is also very nice, with easy groomed trails, and amazing views. Lounge: It's really helpful having an open breakfast with coffee throughout the morning. Pancakes, fruit, eggs, potatoes, cheese, smoke salmon, coffee, juice, bagels, and just about anything else that you might need are available during breakfast. During the day, you have access to the lounge and watersodascoffee and other light snacks and cookies. An additional shout out to Ken of the gold level for a lot of assistance and helping with our checkout. Everyone was helpful, provided restaurant recommendations, tips, and generally made our trip great! Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is a special place and we have some great memories! Thanks to everyone at the Fairmont Lake Louise for a nice stay! Tip: If you are skiing, you may want to consider the free 'Ski with Friends' program. This is very well organized and meets at 10:00 and then 1:15 at the mountain. People select their skill level and then a local guide leads that group (about 3-5 people) around the mountain. It's a great way to see the mountains, ski with people of similar ability (i.e. my son did expert and I did blue), and generally have a great ski day.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here over the family day long weekend and had the most incredible experience. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, we felt so pampered. We were originally in a gold king room but upon arrival we were upgraded to lake view! The staff set the room up to celebrate our day and did a beautiful job, it was so greatly appreciated. All the staff from the gold lounge to the restaurants to the coffee shop to the in room dining were so welcoming and truly made our weekend beyond special. We can’t thank you all enough! We would absolutely return again and we highly suggest springing for the gold services! You won’t be disappointed :)

We spent a long weekend in the area, with 3 nights and 2 days of skiing at Lake Louise. The skiing was crowded but the hotel felt peaceful. Unfortunately a couple of the restaurants were closed but as our trip was short this was not an issue. The mountains were spectacular, the staff was friendly and helpful, and our entire family had a good time.

We stayed at the Chateau for our honeymoon and can definitely say it has been a very sweet beginning to our marriage. The staff are lovely and extremely helpful; it’s been amazing to meet such a diverse group of people from around the world. The hotel itself is lovely, it has an old-timey romantic feel. The food was good, expensive but it as expected for a luxury hotel and the service, once again is a 10/10. The construction didn’t disrupt any of the day-to-day workings of the hotel. The only negative thing I have to say about our stay was that 2 of the bar/restaurants were not open during the time we were there which left limited dining opportunities at the hotel itself, but a shuttle to Lake Louise village or a bus to Banff was easy to arrange. Lovely stay for a more upscale vacation.

We love Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, we always stay on the Gold level due to the excellent service and upgraded amenities. We can never say enough about Kathleen Costello and her group, the level of consistency demonstrated at an impeccable standard deserves the highest of credit. Kathleen takes such good care of us, treating us with kindness and immense professionalism, she is an absolute star. To second this, her staff are best in class, Estefania really showed great care and attention to details and was very personable. We also had a great experience with Sarah at the Firepits, she had us laughing and well fed with smores. We choose to come to Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise because of the staff they employ, we are comfortable and taken care of from beginning to end. Thank you!
