Location was good. Across the street from grocery, tourist info, and liquor store. Easy access to several trails including the one going up to Lake Louise. Great way to see the lake and avoid the traffic. There is no elevator to breakfast. It was a real problem for one of the couples traveling with us. They ended up skipping breakfast because he steps were too difficult. There was no fitness center. A fitness center would have been very nice since hiking or cycling in the rain is not appealing.

We stayed 3 nights at the Mountaineer lodge and had a great time. The King room was nice enough albeit a bit dated, and had plenty of space for all our gear. The included breakfast was great and well attended by staff. For skiing, a shuttle comes right outside the hotel regularly throughout the morning, and drops you off without a hassle in the evening. There were also lockers nearby for storing our skis overnight. Plus, the spa was a great temperature to pop into after a long day out. Overall a great stay :)

We booked a double room and a family room each for two nights. When we phoned the person on the desk was not very helpful with trying to make rooms close together. They were also quite inflexible with their later than norm check-in time of 4PM. This hotel/motel has two buildings - one where the main lobby and reception is located and the other across the parking lot, close to the breakfast room. The double was a room good size, table and arm chair seating area. We had issues with a (large) family room that was quickly resolved by young male reception employee. We ended up in newly upgraded one bedroom in the building separate from lobby. It was a room with a separate bedroom and a small living room had fireplace, sofa, armchair. All rooms have small fridge and microwave- very handy when travelling. Unheard of that no phone to be able to communicate with front desk when we were in a separate building! We had a couple of queries about the thermostat but we would have had to fully dress to walk over to other building to ask a question (in the cold and rain later in the evening). We were also unable to communicate room to room with our friends in rooms in the other building. Road construction right outside property was going on until 7PM so a bit annoying (not their fault of course, but nothing mentioned anywhere when booking either). The included breakfast was fine. No coffee or condiments we used the first night in the room were replaced on day 2. Not too many choices in LL so I would stay again depending on what else was available. Overall it turned out OK and could have been worse if the young man had not sorted us out.

Our suite was quite spacious for a family of 4, included bunk bed for 2 kids which were full size, a master bedroom and a living room. This was 474/night in July (includes tax). Location is super convenient. The drawbacks to this property were the steep stairs (king suite only on second floor) and the breakfast (2 floors down). The breakfast room was crazy busy and ran out of food - which was very so-so. Overall not sure I’d stay in Lake Louise again in the summer - it’s crazy busy! But the sights are amazing.

The location of this hotel is right next to a strip (Samson) mall which is convenient. Rooms do not have A/C so, at night we had to leave the windows open to cool off. One of the nights there was a planned electrical outage which they did not tell us about. Our experience was dampened by a foreign guest who (in my opinion) falsely accused us of hitting their car and, front desk did not even validate if it is true and gave our room number. They knocked after we had already asleep. Silly unnecessary drama with no proof.
